“Cheyenne did a great job taking care of our dogs. We were gone for 5 days and she came over 3 times a day. She fed, walked, and played with them and was always on time. We received pictures and videos after every visit. When we arrived home the house was clean and the dogs were happy and doing great! I would highly recommend her if you need someone to care for your animals. We will be reaching back out to her the next time we need a sitter.”

About: I have never not owned a pet until recently. I had two cats (brother and sister) for 19 years. I have always had dogs. My most recent was my 60 pounds of love - a black lab. One of my cats had diabetes where I had to give him insulin shots twice a day. Thankfully, he went into remission after 5 years. I have raised puppies and took care of senior dogs. After a long career as a Legal Assistant in West Palm Beach, I have retired to my "happy place", Sebastian, Florida. I have time and energy to love your pets and am looking forward to making friends with your cat(s) and/or dog(s), and even their special human. 😊 I am always aware of your pet's needs. I am intuitive as to what they want or are feeling. Of course, their safety and health is top priority. If they are upset and not eating, I am creative in making sure they stay hydrated and eat.
“Jonathan was absolutely fantastic caring for our cat Sheba for 4 days during Thanksgiving. He was very polite, attentions, and accommodating to all our needs. He communicated with us at each twice-a-day visit, letting us know how she was, which gave us peace of mind. I cannot thank him enough for all the care and good work. We highly recommend him and we will definitely have him again.”

About: I have taken care of all sorts of animals my entire life. Dogs, cats, Rabbits, sugar gliders. Young, old, special needs. I do it all. I believe pets are like children, they love to learn. I am recently retired so I can devote as much time as needed for your furry ( not so furry) babies. A lot of love to give. I prefer to sit in the clients home as I feel the pet will be less nervous or anxious in familiar surroundings. I like the pet to get to know me in their own time. Trust is earned.
“Kristina was great! She started by offering to do a meet and greet, which was fantastic because our big dog can be a jumper and our puppy can be skittish. And then when she did our drop in for us, she was very communicative and provided a lot of updates. We highly recommend Kristina!”

“Christie is amazing with my girls. She goes out of her way to make sure their needs are met and that they get plenty of belly rubs and loving. She truly puts my mind at ease knowing that my girls are safe and well cared for. Thank you Christie!”

About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up on a farm, I cared for everything from small livestock to beloved family pets, giving me hands-on experience with a wide variety of animals and personalities. Over the years, I've cared for dogs, cats, rabbits, pot-bellied pigs, sheep, goats, horses, donkeys, cows, reptiles, and amphibians. Most recently, I've provided care for senior dogs and understand the extra patience, compassion, and attention they need as they age. I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owner is away. I take the time to learn each pet's unique needs, maintain consistent routines, and provide attentive care to help them feel secure and happy. My goal is to give pet owners peace of mind, knowing their furry family members are being cared for with kindness, dignity, and genuine affection.

“Jaycee was great to work with! We appreciated her enthusiasm to work with our cats. Jaycee was very flexible and communicative with us which made it a breeze to work with her. She is very experienced with cats which made us more at ease with having her take care of them. She even persisted with attempting to give our grumpy old cat medicine. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
