“Danielle is excellent! I’ve used her three times now, and my American bulldog clearly likes her and feels comfortable in her care, which says a lot. She’s reliable, easy to work with, and you can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs. Her business is booming, so expect other dogs to be around during your pup’s stay. Great for social dogs who enjoy company. I’d recommend her.”

“My dog received great care from Jorge and his family. Bella was spoiled with lots of loving attention. She had a great time with his kids which were wonderful with her. She will definitely be going back.”

“Linda and George took amazing care of my pup. They sent update photos everyday and even took my pup out and about, which he loved every second of it! I would 1000% recommend them for any type of dog sitting and I know my pup can’t wait for the next trip back!”

“Great hosts and couple! They took Dexter in on such short notice with welcoming Arms. Definitely going to reach out to them in the future when we’re out of town. Thank you so much!”

“Gavin was very patient , kind and understanding of my crazy schedule for this weekend and also my first time pet parent anxiety, and my dog loved being in his carelol I would gladly book with him again!”

“Mera was a wonderful sitter for our dog Chewie, giving him walks and his special dinners. She and her family took great care of him while we were away for a few days. We hope to rebook with Mera.”

“Brian is a great host. He reached out quickly upon my request and the provided information so I was able to book within about 30 minutes. He was proactive and reached out the night before to confirm arrival time and it was very responsive to all my requests and inquiries over text message. He was able to accommodate my daytime doggy daycare request His neighborhood is great and they even have a small dog area that’s fenced in for some off leash time. Basically, the best experience you could ask for when handing off your fur baby.”

About: Hello, I’m a mother of one, and we own a Siamese cat named Atlas. We had a dog a couple of years ago and he has since passed due to an accident and as we’re opening our hearts to the thought of a new member we’re also opening our doors to care for pets while we go on our own journey of finding our own Canine Best Friend. We reside in a a very safe- family friendly neighborhood.( Elgin, IL) Our cat; Atlas stays indoors and in his own room as he likes his privacy so there is no worries about anccidental ill encounters. Since I am a home-maker, a have a lot of time on my side. My regular routine with a toddler is very active in terms of going outside, going for walks, running etc and we wake up everyday with the same goal. “Be tired by the end of the day” 🏃🙏 Yard is UNFENCED. All dogs will be on their leash when playing in the yard. If they have an EXTENDED length leash, it’d be great for them to run around more freely!
“Keith was great with our dog Archer! He bonded with him very quickly, sent frequent updates, and streamlined the drop off and pickup process for us. Professional & friendly - highly recommended”

“Once again Jo’Elle knocked it out the park! Jo’Elle is a top notch sitter! We have no problem leaving Aggie with her. Jo’Elle is caring, accommodating and an all around amazing pup sitter! We’ve left Agatha with her several times through out the years, and will not hesitate to do it again! Thank you Jo’Elle!”

“Penny stayed with Matthew and Michelle for 2 weeks while we were on a trip. This was the longest time she had ever been away from home. She settled in very well into their home and we were kept updated on a regular basis which was very much appreciated. We could tell she was happy staying with them and won’t hesitate to book her next stay. Excellent care and accommodations!! Thank you so much!!!”

“We boarded our 1 year old vizsla with Greg and Sonia. They were patient with him as he adjusted to a new house and kept him busy with trips to the dog park and playing in their fenced in backyard. Their dog, Sam, is a friendly golden retriever who appears to play well with all dogs. They provided daily pictures and updates.”

About: Hi there! My name is Stephanie and have ample experience and tons of love for dogs! We have rescued a few pups with varying personalities and support requirements from partial paralysis, fear-aggression and anxiety. I have experience in dog walking, boarding and administration of medications (our own pup takes meds daily). I do have a 2 year old toddler at home along with an 11-year-old dachshund mix so any boarding requests should take that into consideration and will be vetted accordingly! I do work from home so your love bug would get lots of attention !
“Chad and his wife have been great hosts for Rufus, he kept me updated periodically with pictures and videos. Would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to pet boarding services”

“Penelope had a wonderful stay for the week. She was very well cared for, happy, and comfortable the entire time. Communication was great throughout the stay, and it was clear Penelope was treated like part of the family. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter”

“Carla was great. Left my German shorthair pointer for a 5 night stay while on a trip. With daily picture and video updates it made me more at ease while I was away. Thanks Carla!”

During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
