About: Working in an animal shelter I've had experience with multiple different types of cats, seen many different behaviors and have worked with cats to increase comfortability in high stress environments like the shelter! I also have a kitty of my own, Cinnabar, who we adopted and he has a condition called chronic rhinitis. Since adopting him, we've maneuvered through lots of illnesses he's had such as URI's when he was a young kitten, his chronic rhinitis and managing his inflammation and making him comfortable so I know a lot about administering medicine and making cats feel safe and comfortable!

About: I've taken care of cats since I was 10, so I've got a few years of experience. Family, friends, and neighbors have relied upon me to care for their feline babies so their pets could stay comfortable in their own home in familiar surroundings. Being an owner myself, I'm aware of the various challenges associated with medicating our feline friends and I'm ready if the situation arises! My experience with special needs cats is significant. Currently I have one deaf kitty (age 7) and another who has been blind most of his life (age 16). I reached out pretty last minute with a request that wasn’t exactly simple—she had to pick Ghost up from his training facility (not from me) and coordinate all of that seamlessly. On top of that, she even helped me sort out a small payment detail on Rover to make sure everything reflected correctly, which she absolutely didn’t have to do. She was super responsive, easy to work with, and just handled everything without friction. And the best part—Ghost lit up the second he saw her again after a few months, which tells you everything you need to know. About: I have always loved every different kind of animal out there, but spent my childhood with mostly just cats. 15 years ago, I adopted my first puppy, a German Short-haired Pointer, at the age of 8 weeks. My ex-husband and I decided to take the "treatless training" approach which was a huge success! Crate training, leash training, obedience training were all a collaborative effort and turned out extremely well. 10 years later, we adopted a sweet rescue named Gizmo who was already 7 years old, but became part of the family immediately. Tigger’s owner had rescued him from a Chicago Animal Shelter just months before I began caring for him. As a 100 lb. Staffordshire Terrier, Great Dane, Bully, etc. mix, Tigger was a big boy with an even bigger heart. His owner dedicated to helping him become the best version of himself, especially since he wasn’t always comfortable around other dogs. With patience, training, and love, he blossomed into the sweetest, gentlest giant you could imagine. When his owner unexpectedly passed away, her husband reached out to ask if I would consider adopting Tigger. My answer was immediate: absolutely. I couldn’t bear the thought of him returning to a shelter. Bringing Tiggy into our family was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My girls and I were lucky enough to love, spoil, and cherish him for three wonderful years before he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We miss him every day, but are so grateful for the time we had together. Since then, we’ve also welcomed two adorable brother cats into our home. They keep us smiling and full our days with plenty of fun and affection. While our family has grown, we’re excited to have some doggy energy back in the house through Rover! When your pup stays with us, they’ll be welcomed with open arms and treated like a part of the family. About: Hello! I’ve recently decided to join Rover to help around the Chicago area. To me, animals/pets are a gift. Since I was born we always had a family dog. I had a Yorkie named Willy I got in first grade, I was very shy and he was my best friend growing up, I was never alone with him by my side. My pup(Max) is up to date with all vaccinations, Heart Worm, Flea and Tick preventative. Please watch for symptoms, coughing, not eating, not acting normal, fever (100-103 normal) and mucus from nose. I would appreciate all guests have their Dog Flu Vaccine, please consult with your Dr. Takes 5 weeks to be good effective. My schedule is really flexible, Please let me know what time might work best for you and your furry family member. We can workout the best time for everyone. I live in an animal friendly neighborhood. My house is ranch-style house with a fenced in yard and a sun room with easy access to my backyard. I also have a friendly dog to keep your dog’s company. If your dog don’t get alone with other dogs, my house is big enough to separate them (I only host two family at a time). I will take care of each dog according to their situation and condition, such as eating time and other living habits. I will keep the owner updated with video, pictures and/or phone.

About: I have been raised with a pet by side. When I have born we had two brittany spaniels that have since passed on. In 8th grade, after they passed, we adopted another puppy brittany. A year later, we adopted another, to have our current pair of brittanys. So I have experience raising puppies as well. I play with them outdoors and indoors, brush them, clean up their poop, bath them, feed them, and train them. They also get taken on walks at the local forest preserve for stimulation. She is solely my cat, so she got the same attention as the dogs, plus I bought her toys, treats, litter, and food. Outside of my dogs I have pet sit goldens labs, goldendoodles, springer spaniels, and many other breeds. As in my headline, I don't think any animal is low maintenance. That just means the pet isn't getting the care it deserves. I had my cat at my dorm first semester, and I fed her breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I made sure to play with twice a day and we played birds on the tv for stimulation as well. I had a weekly schedule to brush her twice a week, and clean the litter box every Sunday and Wednesday. At home I would alternate playing with my dogs, training, and brushing them whenever possible. I can play indoors and outdoors. I can take the animal for walks. Clean up any potential messes, such as muddy dogs or if a cat has a hairball. I can accompany senior pets that need help eating. I can brush the animal. And feed them, and do basic training.
About: When I had roommates, they have a cat who has wobbly cat syndrome (Cerebellar Hypoplasia) which makes him walk a little funny! He can’t go more than two to three steps without falling over, and eating is quite a challenge. Having cared for him has made me really patient and understanding of animals. I recently just left a data entry job, so I have all the time in the world to care for your pets! I love animals more than people so they are going to fit perfectly into my daily routine. I would spend time with your pet as much as you’d like! I love spending time with animals whether that’s playing with them, giving them pets, going on walks or just being next to them giving them company!
About: I have been pet sitting for several years ever since I was around the age of 13. Additionally, I work at Anderson Humane in South Elgin as a kennel tech and have been working there since August! I have worked with many different animals as a Kennel Tech, I also have experience with administering medicine and I am Fear Free certified. About: Hello! I’ve recently decided to join Rover to help around the Chicago area. To me, animals/pets are a gift. Since I was born we always had a family dog. I had a Yorkie named Willy I got in first grade, I was very shy and he was my best friend growing up, I was never alone with him by my side. I volunteered at a couple animal shelters a few times a month when I was younger and always got recognized for how the animals would take to me. I’m a very easy going, energetic and understanding person, just being around animals brings me joy. I would love to help you keep your dog or cat active, happy and satisfied everyday :) I'm currently working part-time (3 days a week, 25 hours) so I have plenty of time to play with your pets! I'm available for boarding on weekends and weekdays after 2 pm currently. ***I started Rover in Arizona in 2019 and have been moving and figuring a lot out since then so my responses haven't been the best previously but I'm finally settled down and fully committing to this as a side job for me and promise to respond promptly :)*** I have a small fenced back yard. I live in Bucktown so I'm pretty lucky to even have that. My pup loves it back there!
About: I have always loved every different kind of animal out there, but spent my childhood with mostly just cats. 15 years ago, I adopted my first puppy, a German Short-haired Pointer, at the age of 8 weeks. My ex-husband and I decided to take the "treatless training" approach which was a huge success! Crate training, leash training, obedience training were all a collaborative effort and turned out extremely well. 10 years later, we adopted a sweet rescue named Gizmo who was already 7 years old, but became part of the family immediately. They have both passed on now to doggy heaven, but I am always the first to offer to care for other family member's pets anytime I can :) I'm currently working part-time from my home in Blackberry Creek and always have time for some fur-ball company. My 2 girls, 7 and 10 years old, are with me part time and are also very helpful, gentle and patient with our pets and hopefully yours! I have a fenced back yard with plenty of room for your fur-baby to play and exercise! If it better suits you, I can always come to your home as well for potty and play time :) UPDATE 6/8/26 - Since starting my Rover journey in 2022, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing pets and their wonderful families. Along the way, our household has grown and changed in ways I never expected. In 2023, one of my regular Rover pups (actually a senior pup) became a permanent part of our family. Tigger’s owner had rescued him from a Chicago Animal Shelter just months before I began caring for him. As a 100 lb. Staffordshire Terrier, Great Dane, Bully, etc. mix, Tigger was a big boy with an even bigger heart. His owner dedicated to helping him become the best version of himself, especially since he wasn’t always comfortable around other dogs. With patience, training, and love, he blossomed into the sweetest, gentlest giant you could imagine. When his owner unexpectedly passed away, her husband reached out to ask if I would consider adopting Tigger. My answer was immediate: absolutely. I couldn’t bear the thought of him returning to a shelter. Bringing Tiggy into our family was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. My girls and I were lucky enough to love, spoil, and cherish him for three wonderful years before he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. We miss him every day, but are so grateful for the time we had together. Since then, we’ve also welcomed two adorable brother cats into our home. They keep us smiling and full our days with plenty of fun and affection. While our family has grown, we’re excited to have some doggy energy back in the house through Rover! When your pup stays with us, they’ll be welcomed with open arms and treated like a part of the family. We understand how much your pets mean to you because we’ve experienced firsthand just how special that bond can be. Our promise is simple: we’ll care for your furry family member with the same love, attention, and respect that we give our own. I work from home full time, so am able to provide your pup with all of the attention they deserve. They are free to run around in the fenced-in backyard and play at their fullest extent! About: I’ve had Dogs since I was little. I currently have 2 German Short Haired Pointers which is a very high energy breed dog. With that being said I’m comfortable and able to care for small to big dogs including high energy fur babies🐾 I’ve also been a Nanny for 4 years and care for toddlers so i’m ready for anything! I’m currently working part time as a nanny while attending ECC for Nursing. This allows me to have a flexible schedule to care for your pet(s)! Having owned dogs my whole life i’m comfortable with any care your pet may need. For example, giving dogs medication as my own dog is very stubborn about it.
About: I have been taking care of my Australian shepherd since I was twelve years old. I've been grooming her, walking her, training her, and feeding her since I was a child. Throughout my life I have gotten two more dogs and many more animals that I have loved taking care of. My college classes have all been online so I have had plenty of time to be at home and spend time with my three dogs. At my home I have three dogs. Two that usually keep to themselves but one Husky that loves to play. I have a large fenced in back yard with plenty of room to run around, as well as cages to crate dogs if needed.
About: I had family pets throughout my childhood that I would help take care of. Now, I have 2 dogs of my own! they are both two years old and have a ton of energy. I have a very flexible schedule with my other job. I am mostly always available to pet sit or take your dog for a walk, unless I am traveling.
