“Alex really enjoyed his stay with Myle. She gave the right amount of pictures to show how he is doing. He be came friend with her dogs. We will ask for more dog stays in the future. Thank you for taking care of Alex. Gave us comfort knowing he is doing good. 😀”

“Otis had a great time at the farm! We got lots of updates while we were away so we had peace of mind knowing he was doing well. Will definitely bring Otis back! He loved his stay.”

“Steve did an amazing job with our dogs. He was great about sending pictures and keeping us updated on how they were doing. I could tell they were having a great time and I felt peace of mind knowing our dogs were in great hands. We would definitely use Steve again.”

“Eric was great! We have used him several times to watch our dogs. He is always quick to reply to us and keeps us updated on how our dogs are doing. We are very glad to have Eric as a trusted sitter.”

“Shawna and her partner, Hannah, did an amazing job watching my dogs! They drove to pick them up/drop them off and kept them at their house over a long weekend. I have a senior rescue dog who can be skeptical of new people, but he warmed right up to Shawna and Hannah. He enjoyed all the cuddles, special toys, and looking out their big windows! I also have an 8 month old puppy who made herself right at home. Shawna and Hannah were super understanding of all my pups’ quirks and made them feel so loved with walks, treats, and lots of opportunities for cuddles. I received several pictures and videos each day. Shawna and Hannah responded super quick to any messages I sent and were attentive to all of our needs! I highly recommend booking with Shawna!!”

About: I was five years old when I got my first puppy, and ever since then I’ve been in love with animals. I have a lot of experience caring for different types of animals and I would love the chance to meet and spend some time with your best friend! I currently work a full time job in Cedar Rapids, so I would love to spend time with your furry friend in the afternoons or weekends. The services that I’m currently offering are house sitting, drop-ins and walks. I would love the opportunity to come to your home and spend some time with your pet!
“What a wonderful feeling to take a vacation and know our Lacey is in good hands with Josh. She stayed with Josh and we didn't worry about her once. He walked with her and played with her and made sure she had everything she needed. Thank you...thank you....thank you Josh for your care of our Lacey Lou! I would highly recommend him!!!”

“Jenny took such good care of my reactive dog! She was patient and understanding, and knew what to do to get my dog to warm up to her. She also sent a nice amount of photos and updates which I sincerely appreciated!”

“We are SO grateful for Kat. She allowed our Dakota to stay in her home for a week while we were away for our wedding. Before the week vacation began, I was so nervous to leave Dakota with someone I didn’t know, we’d never done that before. Though, Kat went above and beyond. She moved plants around in her home to help keep Dakota safe. She allowed Dakota to drink water from the sink, like she does at home, to help keep Dakota happy! During the stay, she sent pictures and updates each day. And at the end, she had everything packed and ready to go for me upon pick up! It couldn’t have been a better experience and Kat a more perfect sitter. We will definitely be asking Kat for her help in the future! Thank you!!!!!!!”

“Nathan took excellent care of our dog Luna. He provided updates and pictures and Luna had a great time. I will definitely use his service again in the future and definitely recommend him.”

“Tiffany, thank you so much for the wonderful care you gave Windsir as always!! It truly means a lot to know he is in such kind and attentive hands. Your patience, compassion, and genuine love for animals really shows, and it makes all the difference. Windsor was happy, comfortable, and clearly well looked after. I’m so grateful. Thank you again for treating him like one of your own! 🐾”

“I was nervous using Rover as it was our first time. Aimee watched my dog for 9 nights and she and her family did an amazing job looking after our dog, including walks and playtime. I highly recommend Aimee as she is a caring and compassionate provider.”

“Caitlin (and John) were great! Norm had multiple walks/day and she sent pics and videos of him playing and hanging out with the family throughout his stay. They were very accommodating with drop off and pickup times.”

“We think Erin is great and would book again. It’s nice knowing you can leave town and your pet is well taken care of. Erin sent us pictures of Winston while we were away and that was so nice because we sure missed our boy! When we got home Winston got to play with other pups and he loves that, I think he was sad he had to come home.”

“My dog Dash loves going over to Rachel’s house to play with her dogs and of course to go see Rachel! She always makes sure that Dash gets enough play time and goes on plenty of walks. Dash also loves car rides and gets to tag along whenever she has quick errands to run, and he often gets spoiled with pup cups through the Starbucks drive-thru. With my permission and built trust, I have allowed her to take him anywhere to run errands, visit friends, and family. Thank you so much Rachel for taking care of Dash!”

“Our dogs had a lovely stay! We really appreciated the updates the first 24 hours as it was the first time we had left our dogs behind while traveling. We were greatly reassured which allowed us to enjoy our trip better.”

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.
100% of Vinton sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Vinton landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.
If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Vinton home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Vinton.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Vinton sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
