“Norman showed up with great energy & care for our first time with him sitting. Page loves to see him & Norman stays in touch throughout the day with good awareness to tune in for needs for me & pup while I was away.”

“Gregory is absolutely great with my pup. Spent lots of time to give my boy cuddles, took him to his play group and reliable. I have rebooked him a couple times since he's been great.”

“Omg! We are so lucky to have found Leah! We had a kitten who is a very scared girl, and Leah was able to help her feel comfortable and safe after she was hiding for a few hours. I was so nervous biscuit wouldn’t warm up and I would be worrying about her during our whole trip but Leah is literally such a pro she was able to ease biscuit out of hiding and comfortable in no time! She sent me pictures and updates to ease my mind. She also was a great chef for our picky eater who eats freeze dried raw food (which other people always struggle to make the way sniffers likes it). Overall we are so pleased with Leah and her husband and would recommend her to anyone!!!!”

“Troy & Shalah were AMAZING with our baby Cosmo and our home! 🤩 We were beyond happy to see daily photos of Cosmo, along with check ins and texts regularly. We had absolutely no concerns at all and will happily book them again! Thanks so much! 🐶❤️”

“Fantastic house/dog sitter! She did an AMAZING job taking care of my two dogs and keeping us in the loop with daily photos and reports. If you get the opportunity to book with Alexa do it!!”

About: I'm 63 and you can call me Frank! I have had and loved dogs since I was a kid. Okay, mom and dad did most of the work back then, but from my teenage years on I've housebroken and helped raise three of my dad's chihuahua's, the last of which we adopted when he passed ten years ago. She is still with us, along with my daughter's dog who also lives with us now! Also, my son's chihuahua puppy visits every two weeks or so! We are all very diligent with getting them on schedules, fed, walked and played-with regularly. My dad's almost 14 year old chihuahua still plays with the puppy, that tell you something? My pictures show a couple shots of our dogs on vacation with us in Gettysburg- they've also been to Canada, Ocean City, NJ and Lake Glory in the past ten years! We lost the Sheltie, Bella, in January but she had a great life, also pictured! We also had a Tabby named Stanley for 16 years, so I'm cat-friendly too! Your pet will have a great time and be spoiled a bit, whether I'm stopping by for a short stay or sticking around for a while! Of course, your rules first, so just let me know what you need and I'll do the rest! I'm currently driving with Lyft, but really want to scale back the driving and use my flexible schedule constructively by making some of my favorite animals happy! We have a fully-fenced yard in which the dogs love to run, 1100 square feet inside and basically all doggies are treated like family! They are fed dog food only, and just a light treat or two during the day, also dog-related, not "people food" treats. Plain, boiled chicken is the only exception, with white rice if there's an upset belly!. They are bathed monthly in the summer, and brushed randomly, though my daughter's dog has very short hair. I have also stayed at the homes of several individuals to care for their pets, a few of whom should be submitting testimonials shortly, if they haven't already!

“Kayla was awesome. She stayed at our place with our older pup and new puppy. Sent us updates and pictures. We felt totally confident in leaving our pups with her so we could go and relax. Will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future!”

“This is the second time I have Alyssa watching teddy. She is wonderful with him. Takes him for walks. Make sure he is eating and the Best is she sends me pictures of him. It makes me feel so much better. I highly recommend her. She is watching teddy 2 more times. She is perfect for Teddy. I am so pleased. Ty again alyssa”

“Dawn was so caring and loving with my girls. This was a last minute booking , but it felt like she had known my pups forever. Dawn took her time to get to know each of my dogs’ personalities and made sure they were well taken care of. She followed all my instructions. My house looked great upon my return. I will definitely will be using her again in the near future!”

About: I’ve taken care of and owned multiple elderly dogs and currently have a 10yo golden retriever. I’ve cared for reactive and extremely anxious dogs. I’m very patient and not easily grossed out. I am available any day/night as long as your pet is able to be left alone for atleast an hour so that I can go grocery shopping or pick up my prescription, as needed. I am currently applying to jobs and doing zoom interviews, so I am able to stay during the day and over night as long as I have an internet connection. I am currently only offering client-home services because my 10yo golden retriever doesn’t do well with dogs that he doesn’t already know. I’m more than happy to water plants, take care of fish, take out the trash, and clean up any and all pet hair and food-leavings. I always bring my own bed linens, as well as shower/hand towel and all of my own toiletries.

“Bill was amazing. We knew right from the get-go that he would be responsible and take care of our wild animals. We will definitely have him back and HIGHLY recommend his services!”

“Molly was great with our two pups! She came to meet them before the weekend so they were all comfortable with each other. She communicated clearly and frequently, and she sent lots of cute pictures. :) can’t wait to work with Molly again!”

“We were worried our dog Lucky wouldn’t adjust to anyone new, but Natalie was amazing! She played so well with our tiny Yorkshire Terrier, and he loved her - didn’t even miss us! Highly recommend her pet-sitting services!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Danielle as our in-home dog sitter! Even though it was just for a day, she made a big impression. Finn was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. Danielle followed all our instructions perfectly, sent us plenty of updates and photos, and treated our home with the utmost respect. It gave us such peace of mind knowing Finn was in such good hands. We would absolutely recommend Danielle to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and responsible sitter. Thank you again!”

About: What can I say... dogs make the world a better place! Your fur baby deserves lots of love and attention. I've loved dogs since I was a kid. As an adult I've had the pleasure of bonding with and caring for a number of breeds varying in ages and sizes over the years: from shy teacups to oversized mushes. Since 2023, I decided to make more time for sharing my love and playfulness through dog sitting, dog walking, play dates and even doing dog portraits! With my flexible schedule as a freelancer, I enjoy making time for play dates, snuggles and most meal times with your sweet fur baby throughout the week. If you're interested in having me dog sit overnight, we can consider it after 3 completed regular visits to your home (over a minimum of 2 calendar days) to make sure everyone is comfortable beforehand. Do you prefer that your sweetie is crated, gated or free roaming in your home after their fed & walked? Do you and your furry best friend have a specific routine? Let me know! Routine and consistency can help develop trust and reduce anxiety which are so important in doggy care.

“Kim was very attentive to my dog! She sent a lot of photos and kept me up to date on how he was doing. I felt very comfortable having her in my home for 5+ days and she left it clean and how she found it! She was able to accommodate my last minute extension when a flight was canceled. I will definitely use her again for walks & future boarding.”

About: I’ve nurtured, cared for and loved twin doxies for 14 yrs: they came into the family at 8 wks old - I’ve seen them through puppy training, teething, dental procedures & back surgeries. We’ve traveled together, biked and paddle boarded through the years, and shared the ups and downs of life. The last of the twins recently crossed over the rainbow, but there’s still much love, care and tenderness remaining to share with a fur baby! So whether you have a pup or a senior, (s)he will be tended to and cared for exactly as you would yourself. I work from home full time with flexibility to offer your four-legged baby attention, support & TLC they need. Plenty of options to walk & play in the area, including a large park. If your pet is under 22#, (s)he can go biking with me in a pet trailer. I also have a pet stroller if your small or senior fur baby can’t walk long distances. I have a crate to accommodate up to a 30# dog: so your preferred regimen can be maintained. I have baby gates & a couch ladder to help your senior, if their movements are restricted. But if your pet is housebroken or pee pad trained, and free to roam, then (s)he can follow me around the house and hang out with me in the home office, on the deck, or chill on the couch.

Irina V.

“I would highly recommend Irina to anyone looking for a reliable and loving dog sitter. She recently took care of our one-year-old Belgian Malinois (no easy feat!) for 4 days while my wife and I were out of town and our usual dog sitter fell through. Irina was everything we could have wanted in a dog sitter. She was prompt, reliable, communicative, and asked all the right questions when we droped our dog off. We were concerned that our big girl may prove difficult or rambunctious with a new sitter, but she loved her time at Irina's - especially the long walks Irina took her on daily at a nearby park. And my wife and I loved the daily updates with pictures and a recap of our dog's day. Irina has gone from an emergency sitter to our first call when we're going out of town, and I would not hesitate to recommend her services to anyone looking for a sitter.”
Village Shires pet parents share their Rover experiences
I’ve used Kim and Bill multiple times now and will continue to use them. They’re both extremely attentive and kind towards my 5 dogs that they watched over the last 7 days. They always send photos and provide regular updates throughout their stay. Highly recommend!

Josh stayed overnight for the week with Kuno. He was very communicative and took great care of both Kuno and the house. Kuno was very happy upon our arrival home. We will definitely rebook with him in the future and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable sitter for their pet.

Outstanding dog/house sitter. Laura cared for our elderly dog for 2 weeks. She was great about giving meds and loving on our sweet boy. She followed instructions perfectly and was very neat and respectful to our home which was in perfect condition upon return. She even washed sheets and towels and remade bed before she left. Most importantly, our dog was relaxed and comfortable when we returned. So we’re sure he was well looked after. Would 100% use Laura again.

Isabella did a great job with Ukie while we went to drop our son off at college. We weren’t sure of how Ukie would react to someone coming into the house, but she was great with him and didn’t seem to have any issues. We came home to a happy pup and avoided stressing him out by boarding him. Would definitely use Isabella again.
