“Haley once again did an amazing job taking care of our two cats while we were gone for over a week. They were immediately comfortable with her on the first visit. She sends thorough updates and photos every visit showing them playing and interacting with her. I highly recommend her services. She's very reliable and communicative, and is a great fit even for skittish kitties. It was such a relief to know that she was checking in on our cats while we were gone!”

“Maggie provided excellent cat care and house sitting. I appreciated that she fit us in last minute and accommodated our schedule around some other commitments she had. I would definitely book her again!”

“Ayden was a fantastic house sitter. He took incredible care of our numerous animals, and even noticed that our pellet stove had malfunctioned and let us know! We highly recommend him.”

“Louisa was wonderful taking care of my brand new puppy. I left very specific instructions and she followed them meticulously. I received photos and a small recap after her visit which made me feel at ease. Will definetly book her again!”

About: My name is Rosa, and I have years of experience living with - and caring for - dogs and cats. Currently, I live with two wondrous cats: Wallula (5 years old) and Feygele (8 months old). I believe every creature has a unique personality and story that continues to unfold with each day. I find it an absolute delight and privilege to get to know your beloved creatures' personalities - their likes and dislikes, their curiosities and opinions, their daily rituals - and to support them in feeling safe and cared for while you are away. I am an educator working in adult education during the academic year (September through May). During the academic year, I have the most flexibility for drop-in visits Friday-Monday throughout the day. That said, Tuesday-Thursday I am available before 8:30am and after 3:30pm for drop-in visits. June-August I have more availability. I would love to spend my time caring for your beloveds! I am unable to board pets at my home but I love doing drop-ins and will always treat your space respectfully and your pets' safety and well-being is number one priority.
About: I have taken care of cats, dogs, Small animals like mice, guinea pigs, fish, turtles. All way to farm animals like sheep, goats and even horses. Due to growing up in small town farming community. Currently I am supervising and helping my teenage daughter care for multiple miniature and full size horses in Leverett MA. I also have two wonderfully spoiled cats and a dog at home. Have some openings in evening and most weekends as at this time I do have a full time 9-5 job. Looking to see where this goes. I do not have fenced in yard but I keep my current dog on tie out or 50ft lead. Very quiet not normally traveled area around house with big yard to play. At clients home depends on environment there. Would prefer no off leash unless securely fenced area.

“I felt really comfortable having Layton take care of Tsuki. I could tell Layton took time to hang out and connect with my cat, it made a big difference with Tsuki and gave me peace of mind during my trip.”

About: I started taking care of neighborhood animals when I was 12 years old and continued down this path of animal care and rescue into my adulthood. I took care of a childhood dog for 16 years of my life before rescuing three of my own as an adult. All three of my rescues have their own unique behavioral issues. One I cannot have around small children from trauma inflicted on her by them. My other cannot regulate her emotions when she gets overstimulated, and my youngest is a deaf and mostly blind double merle! I have taken care of my own pets, taken care of countless neighborhood pets, and I have also worked on a horse farm where I was trusted to take care of the horses, donkeys, and pigs. My passion is taking care of animals. My empathy for them is great and its my goal to make sure that even the saddest animals have a full life and find happiness. I also like to make sure that when they are missing their families I can make them as happy, loved and cared for as possible until their families return. I currently work full time and have Mornings, Evenings and Weekends free with flexibility to take time off throughout the day to care for animals who need more frequent attention. Unfortunately, due to my own three rescue dogs at home I will not be able to take pets back to my house for care at this time.

I am a college student first so I tend to only sit during the weekends, or after class on weekdays if necessary. I’m slightly flexible though! Feel free to reach out :) In your home, I do my best to keep everything just the way your pet (and you!) like it. I follow your routines, stick to their feeding and potty schedules, and give lots of love and attention so they feel totally at ease while you’re away. I’m tidy, respectful, and treat your space like it’s my own. In my home, your pet will be treated like royalty—with a comfy place to nap, toys to play with, and plenty of one-on-one attention. I only take in pets I know I can fully care for, so your furry friend always gets the time and love they deserve. Whether I’m visiting them or hosting them, I make sure every pet feels safe, special, and very, very loved.

We are Extremely happy with Nadine, and will Definitely use her Services again when we travel out of town!”

“Carol took Nora while we went to the botanical garden. She played with her and kept her safe so we could enjoy our time in the gardens. I wish we could take her with us every time we travel ?”

“Elias took fantastic care of my tricky kitty, including administering meds in food and dealing with frozen wet food (Smalls) which is trickier than scooping dry food or opening a can. They were very responsive communication-wise and enthusiastic. I will definitely turn to them again for kitty care when I next leave town.”

About: I am an active human and love the companionship of dogs for walks and hikes, as well as a snuggle on the couch. I have cared for puppies as well as senior dogs. I am currently unemployed and have a lot of flexibility in my schedule as well as appreciate the routine of pet care to help me build routine of my own in this moment of unemployment. It is important for me to learn before caring for a pet about their quirks and it is my goal to build trust both with you and your furry friend

About: I have lived with and taken care of at least two dogs of various sizes my entire life. Over the past few years I have dog sat and dog walked the pets of family/friends. Some of which had special accommodations such as meds or a strict schedule which was no problem at all! I love spending time with animals so let me bring my care and love to your pets to make your life easier! I am a recent college graduate looking for a full time job at the moment. Until I find that position, my schedule is as open as it needs to be to take good care of any pets. For my own pets, I share responsibility of all the basic needs of a pet; feeding, walking, giving attention, letting them out for the bathroom, etc.. For the pets of my client I provide all of those necessary services myself. I can dedicate any needed time and effort to ensure that the pet stays safe, healthy and active.

About: I tend to be fun, responsible, and calming for them. I like it and take pride in it. The best thing about caring for animals, is seeing their personalities, what they consider manners, and seeing them light up when they're being respected on their terms too. The best part of my mornings on my family farm, is taking a hike with the Bassett. Neither of us are satisfied with our morning until it happens. She needs it, and deserves it. While I'm away from her, I need to hike, or I get soft I ask owners what their pets needs and personalities are. What they consider manners, and if they are tricksters, what to expect. All animals are their own kind of person, and they deserve to be treated as such.

About: I’ve had pets since I was about 4 years old, and am experienced with caring for cats and dogs. Any needs they have, I will take care of them all - from simple company when you're at work, to walks, giving meds and overnight stays! I have experience training puppies too, from potty training to the classic "stay", "sit", "come", "leave" etc. commands. I have a large dog myself so size of your pet is no issue. Anything you're unsure about, shoot me a message! I work full time at a school but am free weekdays after 2pm until around 10pm. On weekends I am free from Friday afternoon until Monday morning so I can do overnight stays too if needed. Depending on the care required, I will feed pets, give them meds, take them outside, play games/fetch/etc., brush them, empty litter boxes and so on. I have had several cats and dogs of my own and cared for many more, so I am comfortable with adjusting to their different personality types.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
