About: I have had pets my whole life and have cared for my friends and families pets. Experienced with cats and dogs of all ages and sizes! I am currently working part time and my work schedule is extremely flexible so I will have plenty of time to play with and care for your pets! I love playing with and spending time with my animals and others animals as well. I make sure all the pets have water and are fed properly as well as ensure they have plenty of outside time if desired!
About: I’ve had multiple jobs caring for senior dogs, puppies, and/or super anxious and reactive dogs. I’m very patient, diligent, and will love your babies like my own :) I have experience with walking, feeding, and basic grooming like bathing and nail cutting. I also dog sat for the president of my college’s two dogs! Willing to learn anything else you may need! I have recently graduated from college and am living in the Albany area for the time being. My schedule is very flexible. I may not be able to board dogs at my home at this time, as I do not live alone. I live in a tidy, quiet home with an unfenced yard. I may not be able to board dogs in my home at this time, but this could vary case by case (i.e. smaller, hypoallergenic dogs).
“Sarah was wonderful! She was able to help us out last minute this morning after a last minute work schedule change and being new to town we didn't have a support system established yet. We are very appreciative of her support and attentiveness with our girl :)”

About: I have great experience with all types of animals in all ranges of age and necessities. I have worked at a barn as well as volunteer at my local animal shelter. I also grew up fostering puppies and kittens as young as days old. I have multiple pets of my own and they are my whole world, I treat any animal with the same level of respect. I work part time but my schedule is very flexible with an enough time in advance. I am free pretty much all day on weekends and most consistently after 3 on weekdays. However my schedule does shift and I am an early riser so I can make most other times work. I currently do not offer home services in my personal house. At a clients home I will listen to whatever instructions are given and keep everything as similar as possible for overnight and drop-in visits to help keep stress levels down for your animal.
About: I volunteer at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society taking care of all level cats. I also walk dogs and take on going classes to improve my animal skills. I am currently retired. My free time allows me to spend it caring for other people’s pets. I can take my time with drop ins and walks. I currently have two cats that are indoor cats. I have cat towers and a lot of cat toys in the house for the cats to use on their own. I also engaged with my cats playing chasing and having fun. I have had dogs in the past-and have fenced in yard. We would play with the dogs in the yard, in addition to taking them on long walks. In previous client homes, I would play with the dogs in the backyard if they were not able to go on walks.
“Stephanie was very patient with my senior dog. She informed me about what happened each day. I am happy with my experience with Rover, and with Stephanie in particular.”

“Rita was wonderful with my pup! It was great to meet her, and she went above and beyond with walking my dog while I was away. Long walks in Colonie park and socializing with other dogs (which my dog struggles with normally - yay!!). Will happily use her walking and boarding services again.”

“Glenn and Diana’s care of my big dog has been such a weight off my shoulders. He has some special needs and they didn’t hesitate to help. Also so appreciative of the questions they ask and how much they care!”

About: I have had dogs and cats in my life since as long as I can remember. I have gone through 5 dogs growing up and have always been surrounded by the pets of friends and family! I’ve always loved every kind of animal, I believe the bond between a dog or cat and their human is truly unconditional. I’m eager to meet and care for more furry friends! I am a full-time hairstylist. Though I am scheduled for the same hours each week, sometimes I have slower weeks than others and my weeks are never always the same. I am looking for Rover as a side job to help me out during my slower days! I live in an Inlaw apartment under my mom‘s house. We have a fenced in backyard. I only have one cat in my apartment, and my mom has two dogs that are very friendly. We have a walking trail along a river across the street from our house!
“Net did a fantastic job with our dog’s first Rover experience and we were happy to get the photos, update and report cards - assurance our dog was being treated great while we were away. We will be booking with Net again!”

“Emily is incredible! She goes above and beyond sharing photos after walks and giving plenty of exercise. My goldendoodles absolutely adored her when I was on vacation and I was so grateful that she could do mornings walks. I highly recommend Emily when she came to visit before, she was super attentive asked questions, was super knowledgeable already and knew exactly what to do! I will definitely be rebooking with Emily for any future dog needs 😊”

“Sam is a rock star! My dumb dog loved her and Sam was very sweet, caring, and loving towards her and she even agreed to a quick meet and greet before Ivy's scheduled walk, very cool! Sam is a great communicator and I would highly recommend her.”

“Victor was wonderful and was able to stop by and walk my dog with only one day notice. I appreciate your prompt communication and taking Luigi on a nice walk. Thank you so much!!”

“Katharine was extremely easy to work with! She assisted in fulfilling a last minute request, and got along great with my dog! She was able to get my pup to take a walk and eat her food, which are often difficult tasks due to my dogs anxiety. Would 100% recommend Katharine to others!!”

About: My name is Loren and I grew up taking care of dogs and cats since I was 10 years old. I have been working through Rover for 8 years since moving to the Capital region. I will stay over at your home, drop in visits, walks, trips to dog park, whatever you would like me to do! I am a very passionate, dedicated, trustworthy, and a responsible animal lover. I am a social worker by profession and love helping people and animals. I have volunteered helping animals at the shelter in the past. I believe in treating animals with kindness and love. I will be your best choice for a pet sitter and you can count on me to do the job and give your pet tons of love and snuggles. I currently work full time mon- fri. I can accommodate occasional before work visits or after work visits. I am most available on weekends. If I have advanced notice, I will be willing to take a day off to accommodate if possible. I treat them with the respect, kindness, and love they deserve. I follow the directions of what the pet owner asks of me. My cats are spoiled rotten and I will spoil your pets too if that is what you want.

“First let me say... Petey and I absolutely loved Hannah from the very start... We had a very nice introductory walk before I left on vacation. Everyday she actively communicated... and every day she went above and beyond. Hannah took great care of Petey and I greatly appreciate that she did!! Even my neighbor reached out to me and told me what a great job Hannah did walking Petey. They said that they were able to see that her and Petey got along well. The fact they expressed that to me was probably a bigger compliment then I could give in this review. So yes... we loved Hannah!! We look forward to touching base with her and we look forward to asking her to look after Petey again the next time it is time to leave town. Thank you Hannah... we truly appreciate you!!”

About: I’ve had dogs and cats all my life and just the past few years started pet sitting! The families I sit for always know they can rely on me and loving their animals! I’m currently working part time at a salon but it is flexible and can stop by every 2-4 hours! I also am willing to do over nights depending on location might affect price! Any instructions left for me will always be taken care of, if you prefer walks or just being let out in the yard either works!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
