Sarah went above and beyond and notified me of a leak in my kitchen when she came to walk my dog. Without her prompt attention the water would’ve continued flowing for several more hours!

Sarah was AMAZING. We had a spontaneous day trip the pups couldn’t join, and Sarah fit them in her schedule last minute! She made time to meet them while we were home so we were all more comfortable. My timid baby hid in his bed and almost refused any walks, water, or food. Sarah was patient and knowledgeable, and was able to coerce him out and appropriately rewarded him. Her care, communication, and adorable pictures kept us from worrying about leaving our babies overnight. HIGHLY recommend!

About: I have 6 years of experience caring for cats and 3 years with dogs. I trained my dog when he was a puppy, rescued stray cats and helped a lost dog find a new home. Also introduce my second cat who is a strayed cat to my first cat. I’m currently in my gap year so I have lots of time to caring your cat or dogs (also puppy!) Pet care fits into my daily routine as I enjoy spending time training, feeding, and playing with them. Boarding pets will have their own bedroom, and share the living room with/without resident cats depending on how they get along. I have a safe environment at home. There’s no child in home. Additionally, I have experience with pet training and caring for both rescueds and domestic pets. I ensure a loving and secure atmosphere for your furry companions.

About: What sets me apart is my patience, flexibility, and genuine love for animals. I understand that pets, like people, need time to warm up, so I always work on their schedule — not mine. As a mom of two students high school and college, caring for pets fills my heart and time with purpose. I’m dependable, respectful of your home, and willing to go the extra mile to make sure every pet feels safe, loved, and understood. This is my full-time occupation, I don’t mind driving or going the extra mile to make sure your home and pets are cared for like family I care for pets by following their normal routines as closely as possible. Whether in my home or yours, I provide a calm, loving environment where pets feel comfortable and secure. I take time to earn their trust, give them space when needed, and show affection when they’re ready. I handle feeding, walks, playtime, and any special instructions with care and attention to detail—just as I would for my own pets. My goal is to keep them happy, healthy, and stress-free while you’re away.

About: **I currently have two dogs of my own, but they stay at my partner's home if I am boarding your dog!** Hi! I’m a PhD student who has called St. Louis home for the past five years, and I’m currently in the final stages of writing my dissertation. The good news for your pets? I work from home, so I have plenty of time for walks, belly rubs, playtime, and keeping your furry friends company while you’re away! I am located in The Grove with access to a dog park at my apartment complex as well as walking distance to both Forest Park & Tower Grove Park for pups that enjoy long walks. One of my dogs loves people and dislikes other dogs, while the other one enjoys dogs and is wary of people so I have experience with a variety of dog personalities and their differing needs. Whether your pet is a professional cuddler, an energetic adventurer, or simply here for the treats, I’d love to spoil them ◡̈ Since I work from home while finishing my PhD dissertation, pet care fits pretty naturally into my daily routine. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to take plenty of breaks throughout the day for walks, playtime, and potty breaks. 🐾 My schedule is much more “read a paper, take a dog for a walk, write a paragraph, give belly rubs” than a traditional 9-to-5. I can easily adapt to the schedule of your pup! I’m happy to build pet care into my day and give your pets plenty of attention rather than leaving them alone for long stretches. Having a furry coworker around is honestly a pretty great dissertation-writing perk! 😂 Your pet’s safety and comfort always come first. Whether I’m caring for your pet in my home or theirs, I take the time to learn their routine, personality, and any special instructions so they can feel comfortable and relaxed. I always keep a close eye on pets during walks and playtime. Since I work from home, I’m able to provide plenty of supervision and companionship throughout the day. I’ll treat your home with the same care and respect I’d want for my own, and I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you can see what your furry family member is up to. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable knowing your pet is safe & happy!

About: Hi! Thanks for looking at my profile. I’m Karah. I first began pet/house sitting when I was living in Ecuador from 2012-16. I am well practiced with dogs of all sizes, cats of many temperaments, and critters ranging from fishes to bearded dragons. I also have lots of garden care, as well as, indoor plant care experience. I am currently working part time at a craft store. As such I can be with your critters for most of the day. Everyone will be well looked after and let out, walked, given specific care, et al. I am not able to keep pets in my own home. I have my own two dogs and a cat who claims his own space.

About: I have always loved dogs, and I had a lot of experience helping with dogs that belonged to my other family members or friends growing up. I have added dogs to the family as an adult and enjoy taking them on walks, playing with them, and caring for them. I have a bichon-freise and shitzu (teddybear mix) dog as part of our family currently. I have two daughters who adore dogs. I am just now beginning this journey on Rover though I have lots of experience working with dogs and caring for others' pups. I am currently working part time from home, so I have time to play and care for your pup. I can take your dog out first thing in the morning, a couple of times during the day, and before bedtime. I walk my own dog three to four times daily and sometimes take him to one of the two fenced in pet parks in my apartment building. Your dog can join us for whatever seems appropriate to you.

Prompt, reliable, capable and could be a professional pet photographer all describe Hayley. She has been walking my 4 month old Golden Retriever puppy for several weeks. She arrives at the requested time, she's patient with my energetic puppy and takes the best pictures (I've posted them on social media and my friends absolutely LOVE her!). She communicates in a timely manner. I work FT and need someone I can depend on to care for my pet, and Hayley has done a fantastic job doing it. Thank you so much.

About: Coming from an animal loving family and already volunteering part time at the Humane Society, I just can’t get enough of walking dogs — especially big ones ! My family’s dog, a total mixed breed that we raised from a puppy, is a modest 80 lbs. Before we got him, I grew up with a border collie and a cattle dog mix, so I deal well with high energy breeds. I’m happy to take them on 2+ mile walks multiple times a day. I have always had dogs, so I have a lifetime of experience raising, training, and taking care of them. I currently work part-time as a French teacher, frequently online, so I have a lot of free time to spend with your pet. Plus, if I am staying long term at your house, my students will love to see your pet pop up on my Zoom video! I can adapt to whatever your pet needs. If you have a pet that just needs feeding and a potty break/litter box scooping, I can provide that. If your pet is a little needier and needs playtime, ear rubs, and someone’s lap to sit on, I’m also eager to provide. I understand that each animal is different.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of every kind since I was 9. Neighbors, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed and bathe their pets. Pet care fits into my schedule because I’m at home numerous times throughout the day with me being a personal trainer. My clients are scattered through out the day so it makes it easy to take care of pets while during my down times in the day! I have a pretty good sized back yard that is great for my two dogs as well as a fenced in back yard. We often have our friends dogs over as well and there is always plenty of space for them all.

About: My experience with animals comes from caring for pets throughout my life, including my own dogs and cats. I’m comfortable with the everyday responsibilities that come with pet care, such as feeding, walks, playtime, cleaning, maintaining routines, and providing companionship. I’ve also helped care for kittens from birth, which gave me hands-on experience with young animals and taught me the importance of patience, cleanliness, observation, and consistency. I understand that every pet is different, and I make an effort to learn each pet’s individual routine, personality, and needs rather than treating every animal the same. Besides my taking care of my own pets my time is free I’m currently unemployed just a full time pet mom and wouldn’t mind taking care of other pets like my own I Have family that helps me take care of my pets at home if needed I also make sure my pets have everything they need when I leave according to how long I will be gone so no need to bring them with me

About: As a passionate and experienced pet sitter, I bring a unique blend of reliability, empathy, and expertise to every pet I care for. I understand that your pet is a beloved member of your family, and I treat them with the same love, patience, and attention as I would my own. With a strong background in pet care, from managing feeding schedules to providing mental and physical stimulation, I ensure each pet’s needs are fully met. My flexible approach allows me to adapt to different temperaments and requirements, whether for a high-energy pup, a shy cat, or a pet needing special care. Choosing me means peace of mind for you and a safe, joyful experience for your pet—because their happiness and well-being are my top priorities Pet care is an integral part of my daily routine, thoughtfully woven into each part of my day to ensure that every pet I look after receives the attention and care they deserve. My mornings begin with feedings, refreshing water bowls, and a bit of playtime to start each pet’s day on a positive note. Throughout the day, I check in regularly to ensure their needs are met, adjusting my schedule for specific care requirements like medication, exercise, or one-on-one attention. Evening routines often include another feeding, a final check-in, and a cozy wind-down to help them feel safe and secure before bedtime. This routine isn’t just about tasks; it’s about creating a steady rhythm that pets find comforting, reinforcing a bond of trust and familiarity with each pet in my care. When caring for pets in my home or while pet sitting in another person’s home, I prioritize creating a familiar, comforting environment tailored to each animal’s needs. At home, I maintain a designated pet-friendly area stocked with essentials like food, toys, and a cozy rest space, ensuring pets feel secure and relaxed. In a client's home, I adhere to the pet’s established routines and preferences, whether it’s feeding schedules, walking times, or play habits, to minimize stress and maintain consistency. I’m vigilant about safety, cleanliness, and any specific care instructions provided by the pet’s owner, adapting to each pet’s unique personality—whether that means extra play for an energetic pup or gentle companionship for a shy cat. This approach allows pets to feel loved and cared for in a setting that feels just like home, whether it’s mine or theirs.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Velda Village Hills. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Velda Village Hills.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Velda Village Hills. On Rover:

  • 93% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
