Leaving our fur baby with someone new was hard, but Paige put us at ease at our first meet and greet. Jax seemed to have a blast and was completly wore out when we picked him up after his stay with Paige. I will leave Jax with Paige again, without a doubt. Thanks Paige!

Kyri did an excellent job looking after my dog, Milky. She was very attentive and responsible, and she consistently sent me pictures and videos so I could see how he was doing. It was clear he was comfortable, well cared for, and in good hands. I would definitely recommend her and would trust her again with Milky for future boardings.

Kayla provided excellent dog boarding services. We received texts and photos to keep us informed of how our dog was doing. She understands dogs and has a system to keep them apart if they don't get along with hers. We knew our 'Teddy' loved staying there when we picked him up. Will definitely the next time we're passing through the area.

Nate and Whitney did an amazing job watching Mac! They sent many updates and pictures of how Mac was doing while he stayed with them. When I picked him up the next day he was exhausted so it is safe to say he had a blast staying with them. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dog sitter!

This was my first time booking with Rover and I have a dog who is a bit complex with his feelings towards people. Amber let me bring him for a meet and greet prior to his stay and she was fantastic. She and her husband made me feel very comfortable leaving Koda with them and worked with me as I needed to have someone else pick up and drop off. She kept me updated with pictures and took him on walks. I will absolutely be booking with Amber again if she agrees and absolutely recommend. Thank you so much Amber!!

This was the second time Amber has hosted Ollie for us, and just like the first time, the experience couldn't have been better. Amber took great care of Ollie. He played with and gets along well with her other dogs. He was very tired when he got home, which is an added bonus! Definitely recommend Amber K as your Rover Sitter.

About: Puppy care, special needs support, brain games, training, and exercise. Walks, bathing, agility playtime, brain games, specialized training and more! Keeping tails wagging and minds happy with love and attention. I believe every pet deserves love, fun, and focus because they’re family too! I’m available 24/7. I can work from home any time I need to which allows for stress free and anxiety free care for boarded furbabies. My work day ends at 2pm at the latest which allows plenty of time for training and play time. I have a large fully fenced in backyard. (6ft privacy fence) I also have large baby gates up to restrict access to the bathrooms and kitchen to maintain a fun and safe environment. I have 3 well established dogs and 1 cat. The cat has its own area where the dogs can’t access it. I have hardwood floors for easy mess cleanup as I know new environments sometimes create bathroom accidents due to separation anxiety at first. I have crates of all sizes if needed. I do allow animas on the furniture which I know some do not like. I can use a crate or dog bed if preferred for bedtime to avoid that so they have consistent care between their home and mine. My neighborhood is extremely low trafficked for safer walks and a dog park nearby.

I have a 12 yo German Shepard. He's an old man now. We were going away for New Years and our normal sitter wasn't available. I was apprehensive about leaving him with someone new. Karin was spectacular. She was attentive to his needs and careful about his 'age' related shortcomings. She has a pup of her own and a young son who loved my boy. Karin sent plenty of pics of him and was very communicative during his stay, asking questions to make sure behaviors were normal and making sure he'd tolerate the environment there! I don't know how many stays my old man has left in him, but Karin is definitely the person I'd want watching him when I leave!

Katherine has kept my fur baby Onyx 3 times and each time a great job was done. I don’t have to worry about him when I’m gone. He goes in and makes himself at home and that says a lot about the love he’s getting there!

Ashlee greeted our dog first at a “meet and greet” at a local park and our pup was calm and comfortable. During our trip, Ashlee updated us on how her first 24 hours went and how she enjoyed playing with the other dogs. On our way back, approaching the Dayton area, she was kind enough to give Pippa a bath. Ashley’s provided kind, observant care to our young dog while we saw family out of state and we couldn’t be more pleased.

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

94% of Vandalia sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Vandalia landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Vandalia home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Vandalia.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
