“Amber took great care of my dog while I went on a trip. She even got him to eat regular which was a surprise since he looses his appetite when we are away. Communication with her was easy. She gave us regular updates during our trip which was nice and helped us to not worry about our pup. She did a great job.”

“Vanessa made my girls feel right at home. They loved playing with her dogs in her large backyard! She handled medicine, meal times, and introductions like a pro! I was very nervous leaving them with a new sitter but we will definitely be back!! She truly cares for them as if they were her own”

“Angel does an excellent job! It was my first time having to leave my puppy and she made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. She also kept me updated with how he was doing. : ) I will not hesitate to use her again when I need to board my dog.”

“Hi! My German Shepherd is very much a one woman dog. She doesn't like men very much most of the time. This is her 2nd visit to Bill and his wife. When we pulled up she jumped out and ran to the door. So excited to be there!! She doesn't even do this when I take her to my Brother's house. Thanks Bill!”

“Daisy and her husband both seemed very kind as well as knowledgeable about dogs. They took the time in the meet and greet to make sure their dog and my dog would get along well. I got frequent picture and video updates. I really felt like my dog was in great hands, and that gave me peace of mind on my trip. I will definitely use Daisy again!”

“Jeanie worked out great! We had to switch our sitter for Linus last minute and am so happy she was available. Great communication and no issues. Seemed like she had a really great time with our pup! Would reccomend.”

“Elya was by far the best dog sitter we’ve found on Rover. She was so intentional to spend time with our dog, taking her on walks and giving her a bath during her stay. It felt like we were dropping our dog off at a friends’ house rather than just a boarding place. Easily 5 stars!!!”

“Anna was AMAZING! So thankful we were able to leave our dog with her. He always gets sick to stomach after/when we are gone. He had no problems!! With this I am certain she kept him calm and stress free! It was such a joy to have someone who understood his behavior and used effective ways to help him stay calm!”

“We couldn’t have asked for a better first Rover experience with Jacob. We were pretty nervous about leaving Reina since she’s a rescue and can be a little anxious around new people, but Jacob immediately put us at ease. He took the time to meet with us beforehand, asked thoughtful questions, and even took notes about Reina’s routine, what she likes, and her do’s and don’ts. It was obvious he genuinely cared about making her feel comfortable. While we were away, he kept us updated with plenty of pictures and communicated with us consistently, which made a huge difference and allowed us to actually relax on our trip. Every update showed us that Reina was being well cared for and getting lots of attention. If you’re looking for someone who is patient, communicative, and truly cares about your dog, we highly recommend Jacob. We’ll absolutely be booking with him again. Thank you for taking such great care of our girl!”

“Goldie, being a rescue, is a really anxious and apprehensive dog. Lydia was awesome with her, she has the expertise (being a foster for a rescue) to make the dog feel comfortable and safe. Goldie was really spoiled in her stay, we also ran into a delay in our trip and Lydia was awesome and understanding. I totally recommend her for sitting your dog!!”

“They did great! My dog was a little nervous at first and they sent me a video showing how happy and comfortable he was! Definitely better then a regular boarding kennel with extra 1 on 1 attention.”

“I appreciated being able to do a meet and greet with Greg before booking. He has a very calm and pleasant demeanor, and I knew Bear would be in good hands. It was also nice to receive a recap and some videos at the end of his stay. We will use Greg again!”

“Rebecca, Ethan, and their lovely family were amazing with our older dog! We are so grateful for their kindness and the care they took to let us know how well our pup was doing with them.”

“Michelle was great with my two puppies! She accommodated our schedule and kept us updated with photos and text updates throughout the stay. Would recommend her to anyone looking for a loving "home" setting for their dogs while traveling. ”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Park Layne home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Park Layne.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Park Layne sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
