About: Hi! My name is Sophia. I am a nurse with a passion for working with children that extends to loving on strangers' pets! Whether it’s a playful puppy or a senior needing patience and routine, I’ve cared for them and treat every pet like they’re my own. My uncle has two American bullies, and my aunt has a senior dog that I offer to take care of from time to time while they are away. Those three angels are the reason why I decided to get my own dog! I have a deep love for animals and a calm, confident approach to pet care that helps pets feel safe, happy, and stress-free. I work three times a week on a self-scheduled basis. I will make sure to update my availability as soon as my schedule is out. When I have my free time I would love to give some TLC to your fur babies and make sure they are content and happy! About: What sets me apart is my background in the animal health industry. I’ve spent the past few years working closely with veterinarians, which has given me a strong understanding of pet wellness, behavior, and the importance of preventative care. I’m comfortable around pets of all ages and temperaments, including seniors who may need extra patience or medication reminders. Beyond my experience, I truly love animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. Because my work schedule is flexible, I have plenty of availability during the week to dedicate to caring for pets. I enjoy starting or ending my day with walks, playtime, and check-ins, and I’m committed to making sure each pet gets the consistency and care they’re used to. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family. They’ll get plenty of attention, walks, and cuddle time, along with a safe and clean environment. I’m careful to follow any instructions about feeding, exercise, or medications so their routine feels consistent. My goal is for them to feel comfortable and loved while you’re away.

“Rain has been an absolute star taking care of my two cat. Rain was fully engaged in all the communications and proceedings from the start to the end, and beyond. Both cats have complex medical needs, Momo are more challenging, requiring a specific type of care, equaling to vet nurse treatment, which is not for the faint hearted. Especially since momo had pills and syringe med to take. And yumi is extremely picky at the litter box. Rain didn’t bat an eyelid at this at all, and took superb care of both of them. On top of that, Chris provided a detailed update after each visit, accompanied by the most beautiful photos of my furbabies. You are an amazing cat/dog nanny anyone can ask for :). I am so grateful for your help, Rain! Thank you!”

About: I own a couple dogs and manage my schedule well while in college and being a dog mom. I value exercise, health and happiness of all pets. I am available on most weekdays in the afternoon. I have a part time job during the weekdays as well and will always update my availability as needed. I have a puppy who is high energy and loves to play. Our daily routine includes 2 meals a day, lots of walks, play time and nap time. My apartment complex has a greenspace where dogs are able to run around freely.

About: I have had pets my entire adult life, and I know how important it is to you to find the right person to take care of them while you’re away. I am committed to taking care of your pets like they’re my own, and I’m excited to provide lots of love and fun! I work from home, and my husband is a full time dad, so we’d be happy to spend time with your pets, go for walks as a family, and see to their every need! We have pet gates throughout the home, extra kennels if needed, and a fenced in yard. We are also comfortable giving medication orally or via injection if needed.

About: I worked at a boarding facility for 5 years, where I lead doggy day care, cleaned kennels, walks, and general care. I have experience with all breeds! I have been a petsitter for many of my friends. I love working with all dogs and giving them some extra love! I am a teacher off for the summer, so I have flexible hours! I am available for morning and afternoon walks, evening check-ins, and whatever other needs you have. I currently live in an apartment with one cat. I will be living in a townhouse in July. I do not have a fenced in yard.

About: I started off my experience with pet sitting 10 years ago with 2 Bichon dogs. They required a lot of care and I loved every minute I spent with them. I had a dog growing up and she was my pride and joy. When pet sitting, I make sure that I give the pets attention and love that I would like to give my own pet. When pet sitting, I typically have the dog come to me or I can do drop in visits to your home. I can also spend the day going on walks and relaxing with your dog. I do not have a dog of my own, but I do have a lot of experience interacting and caring for all kinds of dogs. I am a teacher, so I have the summer off to be able to take care of your dog during morning and afternoon. I can also take them on long walks. I plan to make sure that your dog gets what they need. For example, make sure that they have food and water. Also, provide them time to be outside and to be active if needed.

About: Hi! I’m a dog person through and through. I’ve grown up with dogs my entire life, dealing with everything including training, feeding, walking, medications and messes. I frequently take care of relatives’ dogs, and now looking forward to expanding outside of the family circle! I work 10am-6pm Monday-Thursday most weeks. Outside of that I am pretty available, and can sometimes sneak away during the work day if needed. The more notice the better! I’m happy to come hangout and play with your dog while you’re away. I can make sure they are being fed and getting plenty of water. Also happy to take them on walks, and can accommodate any of their special needs. However, I am unable to keep them at my place at the moment.

“Jess was such a great choice to watch my Sammy boy. We were gone from 5/22-6/1 and had no idea it was getting VERY warm here in Iowa. We did not yet have our window air conditioners in. At one point, it got to 85 in our house. I was able to have a neighbor install the window ac’s. Jess was concerned for Sam and offered to stop by to check on him (on a day that wasn’t originally on the calendar). I truly appreciate her doing that! We were in Florida and that helped eased my mind!! We’re already set up to have her take care of him later this summer. Thanks again Jess!”

About: I LOVED having and taking care of a family pet growing up. I have had a family pet since childhood, and have dog sat for family and friends. I really enjoyed watching my school pet gerbil when I was in grade school. Now getting the opportunity to pet sit will fill my love tank for animals again!! I am available for boarding and caring for dogs on the weekends and after 2 PM on Friday’s. I am looking for ways to make my weekends more active and productive. I have a dog park and friendly neighbors who also have dogs to keep your doggies company. I care for my family dog, I play and leave his food and water out to eat and drink. I also make sure to feed him his soft food and play with him before bed.

About: I've taken care of pets since I was a young child, but have been doing so professionally for 10 years. What sets me apart from other pet sitters is that I am a full time vet tech and have been in the veterinary field for over 10 years. So I am uniquely qualified to administer all kinds of medications, including oral, transdermal, and injectable, as well as subcutaneous fluids. I am also a certified dog trainer so I am able to train puppies (and dogs of all ages) and keep up with their current training while you're away. I currently work full time, so I have limited daytime availability. I am off on Thursdays and Sundays as well as most Saturdays, but otherwise can only provide midday drop ins if they are within a short drive from my job in Waukee. I will follow your instructions meticulously and treat your pets as I do my own. I believe it is important to keep as close to a normal routine as possible to make sure the pets are comfortable with their pet sitter while their owners are away. I provide daily text check ins with pet parents as well as pictures of your beloved pet.
