Alright... where to begin! Brian did a wonderful meet and greet with my boys (two newfoundlands) and walked them today without me..that may seem like a strange thing to say but Byron (my younger boy) refuses to go on a walk for anyone but me - not even my husband! He was perfectly fine on going on the walk with Sinjin (my older boy) and Brian. No temper tantrums, no refusal to walk. NONE of it. Brian took them on a good walk, they had fun and their were no problems.

Clair is great! She follows instructions, walked at Mo’s pace, and took care of him like I would. I booked longer because my dog(Mo) is a slow walker. She fed him, made sure his water bowls had fresh water and also gave him just supplements when needed, and treat. Will user her services in the future again!

Madisyn has been doing a great job walking our big rambunctious collie. She is reliable amd communicative and may have some special magic, as our cat who is normally aloof with nonfamily took to her right away and followed her to get more pets.

About: As an experienced dog sitter, I go beyond basic care by truly understanding each dog’s unique personality and needs. I have a natural ability to read their body language and adapt to their moods, ensuring they feel comfortable, happy, and secure while you’re away. Whether it’s administering medications, following specific dietary plans, or providing enriching playtime and walks, I tailor my approach to each dog’s routine. My calm and attentive demeanor helps even the most anxious dogs feel at ease, and I maintain clear communication with pet owners for peace of mind. Having cared for my own senior Pomeranian, Zeus, until he was 14, I am particularly attuned to the special needs of older dogs, including administering medications and adjusting routines for their comfort. I currently have an year and a half year old Yellow Labrador Retriever named cooper, so well experienced with puppies I’m currently home full-time, so I have a very flexible schedule and can give your pets lots of attention throughout the day. Whether your dog needs frequent potty breaks, long walks, playtime, feeding schedules, medication, or just extra cuddles and companionship, I’m able to be there consistently. I love getting outside for walks and making sure dogs stay mentally and physically happy while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I treat every animal like they’re my own and take the time to learn their routine, personality, and needs. I’m experienced with dogs of different ages, energy levels, and temperaments, including senior dogs and puppies. I always keep a close eye during walks, potty breaks, feeding, and playtime to make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a calm environment.

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all breeds and sizes for over 10 years. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and love their pets like my own. I’m experienced with puppies, senior dogs, and those needing a little extra patience and care. Whether it’s playtime, training support, or simply keeping your pet comfortable, I make sure every animal feels safe, happy, and part of the family. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to spend quality time with your pets. I’m available for boarding on weekends and for walks, drop-ins, or playtime during weekdays after work hours. Your pet’s routine and comfort are my top priority, so I make sure to adjust my schedule to meet their needs. I have a secure fenced yard and two friendly dogs who love making new friends. Safety is always my first priority, so I supervise playtime closely and can crate your pup if needed. About: I been fostering kittens for two years with my partner, including bottle-feeding newborns, caring for young or special needs litters, and administering medications. It's been an incredibly rewarding experience and has taught me a lot about patience, responsibility, and animal care. I also have experience house-sitting for both cats and dogs through the Rover app, making sure pets stay happy and comfortable while their owners are away. I truly enjoy spending time with animals and always treat them like my own. I work full-time, but pet care is still a big part of my routine because I’m super flexible and adaptable. I’m comfortable managing tasks around my schedule and always prioritize making sure pets feel safe, happy, and well cared for. When caring for pets in my home, especially kittens I’m fostering, I provide a safe, clean, and nurturing environment. I make sure they get plenty of social interaction and gentle handling to help them thrive. I also monitor their health closely and keep their space sanitized to prevent illness. When caring for pets in a client’s home through house sitting, I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, whether that’s feeding routines, medication, exercise, or playtime. I treat their home and pets with respect, maintaining the usual environment to keep pets comfortable and stress free. I also provide regular updates to owners so they feel connected and confident while away.

About: I’ve taken care of family and neighborhood pets since I was in middle school and people in my neighborhood have come to rely on me to check in on their pets regularly. I am also an Animal Sciences student studying at Oregon State University (but I’m home for the summer in the Olympia area!) hoping to become a veterinarian and have worked in some clinical settings, so I have a bit of a background in veterinary medicine to give your pets the best care! I’m currently shadowing at a veterinary clinic three days a week but other than that I’m widely available to take care of your pets! I generally shadow Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (but days may change) from 8-5:30, but I have a lunch break from 12-2 every day and am able to let pets out mid day! Other than that I am largely available most other days! I treat every client's home with the same care and respect as my own. I carefully follow your pet's normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, playtime, and any special instructions. I'll make sure your pet feels comfortable and loved while you're away, keep your home clean and secure, and provide regular photo and text updates so you always know how they're doing. My goal is to keep your pet happy, safe, and stress-free in the environment they know best.

About: I have worked for about 6 months in a doggy daycare facility, where I was able to enjoy keeping our customers fur babies happy and safe. Before that I was also volunteering at a private doggy daycare facility in Ireland, where I spent a few months taking care of all kind of dog breeds. In addition my husband and I welcomed two puppies beginning of last year. Meanwhile they are both about 1 year, so if your pet should stay with us, they will have lots of play time with them :) I'm currently taking this semester off, so I have lots of free time to spent with your loving fur babies. I'm available most of the time, so just sent me a message. I will follow all rules and instructions you give me regarding your pet, anything outside of your guidelines, I will treat your pet like I would want someone to treat mine, with love and care.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 2,117 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Vail. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Vail. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Vail.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Vail. On Rover:

  • 94% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
