“Yessenia was absolutely lovely to work with. She answered any questions we had as first time Rover customers in order to put us at ease. We could see from the first interaction that she would be kind to our dog, as she immediately got down and gave her hand to the dog to sniff and then pet her. She has a daughter with a sweet and gentle personality, who kindly shared her own blanket with the dog to make the dog feel more comfortable. Yessenia‘s husband was friendly and pleasant as well. Yessenia sent us multiple pictures and updates over the weekend while she watched the dog. Though we brought some supplies, she was also prepared with her own if necessary. Furthermore, since Yesenia had already experienced life with a senior dog, she offered us some suggestions that might help with our pup. Our Rusty had never been cared for by a stranger up to this point. It was hard for us to leave her. That said, we would not only highly recommend Yessenia and her family to other dog owners, we will definitely reach out to Yessenia again if we need someone to board the dog. About: I’ve grown up with large and small dogs my whole life. In my 20s, my former partner and I raised a German Shepherd. I learned that you need to train yourself before you can train your dog. I believe in positive reinforcement training and that consistency is what works best. I currently have a small somewhat senior dog that is a mixed breed who is special needs. He is deaf and has IVDD which has taught me a lot. I have ramps and gates so he and other dogs can get on and off furniture with ease. I also am able to gently administer oral medication for even the most stubborn pups as sometimes mine can be quite stubborn! I work remotely from home with the exception of one day a month. This really allows me to give the time and attention needed to your pets care. It also gives me the flexibility to work from anywhere that has an internet connection. I have a fenced in yard but also love going on walks as I know dogs love and need stimulation. Our in home pets are very calm and accepting of other pets that I have cared for which is one of the reasons why I felt that opening up our home to other pets would work. If your pet is not the best with cats we are able to keep them separated.

Since then, I’ve continued dog sitting and walking for neighbors, friends, and family, and now have a rescue pup of my own. About: I’ve cared for dogs for over 25 years and currently have two wonderful Goldendoodles, mom and daughter. Dogs staying with me become part of the household, with plenty of attention, affection, playtime and room to run in our fenced yard. I’m comfortable with puppies, seniors and high-energy dogs, as well as administering oral and injectable medication. I’m also experienced with training and love keeping dogs active, happy and mentally stimulated. I work on my own schedule, which gives me plenty of flexibility to spend time with the dogs in my care. About: I grew up in a house with 3 dogs and have never known life with an empty house! I’ve been formally dog sitting for friends, family and clients since 2018 in my house on Long Island as well as in their apartments in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I was previously the assistant manager of a local dog day care and while some dogs do well in a boarding facility, I know how important it is for them to feel comfortable and stress free, and that can be in their home or mine! With over 20 repeat and regular clients who my relationship with them and their dogs spans across years, I have many referrals that can speak to my high level of care and love. I also am honored to have experience with senior aged dogs and those with medical conditions requiring medicine or special care and am happy and comfortable to provide it. Be prepared to receive a million picture and video updates from me of how we’re spending our days together so you don’t have to worry or wonder, and can enjoy your vacation as stress free as possible. Especially if you’re away during a holiday or even their birthday, we always celebrate with special treats, toys and activities so nothing is ever missed. When your pet is in my care, they become a member of my family and are treated as such! I work full time remotely from the comfort of my house, which allows me to spend all my time on the couch with the dogs I’m sitting for and take them to play in the backyard or for a walk whenever we want. I am able to accommodate and be flexible with bathroom and feeding schedules as necessary. I have a very large, fenced in backyard with grass and concrete that dogs are able to enjoy. I also have a doggy door if they are trained that they can access the backyard whenever they would like/need to potty (can also be locked shut!). I am happy to follow any specific care instructions no matter how unique or strange you might think they are, I’ve heard it all and love learning every dogs personality and quirks that make them who they are. The dogs I sit for are just like my own pets, they are welcome and encouraged to join me on furniture, to sleep in bed with me or can be crated if preferred and one is provided (although I certainly prefer cuddling with them if allowed!).

“We had to leave Nene and Scrappy with Jonisha and her family for a weekend while we were traveling, and once again, we did so with complete peace of mind, knowing they would be well cared for and loved. This time, Nene had a small rash on her back left leg that required the application of topical ointment twice daily. Jonisha and her family not only assured us they would handle it but went above and beyond by putting a soft cone on Nene to prevent her from licking the hot spot. Their attentiveness and care truly exceeded our expectations. As usual, Jonisha and her family kept us updated with lots of videos and pictures. It warmed my heart to see how well-cared-for and at ease Nene and Scrappy were. They fit right in with Jonisha’s family and her two dogs. The videos showed them outside, romping around and active, while the pictures captured them snuggling and resting together, as well as with Jonisha and her family members. Knowing that they were so loved and happy gave me immense comfort. Once again, Jonisha and her family delivered exceptional care. We couldn’t be happier with them and wouldn’t dream of entrusting Nene and Scrappy to anyone else. It’s clear they treat our dogs as if they were their own, and that level of love and dedication means the world to us. The girls were even excited to see Jonisha and her sister when we dropped them off, which speaks volumes about the bond they share. How could you not want that kind of care for your dogs when leaving them with a sitter?”
