We were traveling for an extended time and I literally just relaxed and enjoyed the trip just knowing that our dog Lou was in such good hands. Lou is a rescue with some behavior issues which is where Erin is really amazing. She took everything in stride and I can easily see that Lou got lots of attention and companionship. She is an anxious dog and although she enjoys doggy daycare/and we have had other pet sitters, Lou always comes home stressed out, exhausted, nervous and her eyes look bloodshot. Not this time! This has been a completely different experience, she is visibly calm and shows no signs of stress at all. Erin is also super organized and detail-oriented, she is flexible (I had to change some dates) and she had no reservations about giving the daily medication Lou needs. Erin's communication was excellent, she even sent us daily pictures of Lou! Erin exceeded our expectations at every turn and I hope she will become a regular member of Lou's family for future stays. My partner and I own a home in Hillsborough, where we have a large, fenced-in yard for our own pups, Reggie and Echo, to enjoy. About: Hello! I am 38, been in Durham since 2013, and I have lived with several friends who had dogs, so I got my start taking care of them when our human housemates were out of town. One of those longtime housemates is a certified dog trainer who had three dogs when we lived together, so I learned a lot from them about dog care and behavior! In my mid 20’s, I was referred to a friend’s parents for overnight dog sitting. I ended up loving it and have been dog sitting for them for 10+years. I’ve also taken care of their three adult children’s pets when they’re on vacation many times, proving that they trust me with their whole family 💜 Three of the dogs I have taken care of have been seniors with medications, special diets and/or needs, such as more frequent potty breaks, or help getting up and down stairs. I love to garden and take care of plants, as I have worked on a couple farms for several years and currently live with someone who owns a landscaping/garden business 🌱 I am currently in between jobs while pursuing a new career. Previously, I have managed catering companies for the last 10 years. While I am job hunting, I am very flexible to spend as much time as needed with your pet! When I am staying with a new dog, I make sure to use the owners’ commands, following their instructions to a ‘T’. I believe that dogs can sense when someone isn’t comfortable with them, so I try to establish a trusting relationship where the dog will respect me while also feeling calm with me, during the time when their person isn’t home. I would love to have repeat clients in order to build a longer relationship with them. It always feels so good when I show up to a client’s house and their pet is as excited to see me as I am to see them💖
About: Hi! My name is Brooke. I am a Traveling Physical Therapist with some time to spare and would love to fill my free time with all the dog love I can get! I have gravitated towards dogs ever since my family got one of our own, and now I can always be found with a dog at social gatherings. I love to tire dogs out with fetch or tug-of-war just as much as I love to cuddle up and give belly rubs! Watching or walking your dog would be just as enjoyable for me as it will your pup, so thank you in advance! I look forward to making many new local dog friends. I am currently waiting to start a contract in Durham for Physical Therapy but until then, I am fully free to love on your pet!! “If you are searching for just the right person to care for your family pet, your search is over! I am so thankful that we met Erin- she is a true gift! We were traveling for an extended time and I literally just relaxed and enjoyed the trip just knowing that our dog Lou was in such good hands. Lou is a rescue with some behavior issues which is where Erin is really amazing. She took everything in stride and I can easily see that Lou got lots of attention and companionship. She is an anxious dog and although she enjoys doggy daycare/and we have had other pet sitters, Lou always comes home stressed out, exhausted, nervous and her eyes look bloodshot. Not this time! This has been a completely different experience, she is visibly calm and shows no signs of stress at all. Erin is also super organized and detail-oriented, she is flexible (I had to change some dates) and she had no reservations about giving the daily medication Lou needs. Erin's communication was excellent, she even sent us daily pictures of Lou! Erin exceeded our expectations at every turn and I hope she will become a regular member of Lou's family for future stays. About: All four of us are animal people. We’ve had our own dog for six years, and cats our whole lives. I also have experience working in a veterinarian’s office, and my husband and I both have lots of dog-sitting-for-friends experience. Currently, we are two teachers looking to supplement our income and help out others. We are caring, responsible people who won’t leave you hanging. We’ve boarded our own dog through Rover in the past and know you might want frequent check-ins or photos. We’re here for you! During the summer, we’re home! Your pet will have lots of yard time and walks if you prefer. We have two older kids (11 and 14) who will NEVER be responsible for your pet, but will supplement their care, socialization, and playtime. We also have a corgi who loves to play, but we can keep her separate from your pup if desired. There are four people here who love animals! We will care for your pet like they were our own. Pets are allowed on the furniture and beds in our home, but we will follow your rules if that’s a no-no for you. We want to make sure your pup feels at home and comfortable, and that you feel comfortable with your pet in our care!
