About: I'm Rachel, a writer with a flexible schedule and a love of all things canine. I live with my husband, and my chocolate Labrador retriever, Ellie, in our West Shore cabin near Homewood. I signed up for Rover because dog sitting helps me get my fix for having a doggy harem. I would love to shower your dog with attention and affection. I volunteer at the local humane society, so I'm very adept at adapting to your dog's needs. I particularly love active dogs, and I'm happy to take your pup on hikes and swims in the lake. I'm also happy to hang out and have a more relaxing day with older, less active pups. Ellie (13) is very well-socialized, and she gets along well with dogs of all sizes. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, so I’m always happy to go out for a walk or a hike. Ellie, my 13-year-old Lab, is always up for meeting a new dog friend. Daycare Rates & Information: Daycare is up to 8 hours of care. Anything longer than that time, please book a boarding stay. Drop-offs anytime after 8 a.m. Pickups before 8 p.m. Although there is a nice buffer of woods near my house, the yard is not fenced (hopefully soon). I’ll be sure to keep your pup on a leash just in case! There’s an enclosed deck for sunbathing and watching chipmunks.

“Gabriel was fantastic. This was my first time boarding my dog and first time leaving her since our other dog passed away. I was very nervous leaving her behind. Gabriel's house was perfect - big fenced back yard and cozy inside. She was allowed to sleep on the bed if she wanted. He was very calm and reassuring. He allowed us to do a short visit to his house before our bigger trip to get her used to being there. Will definitely be using him again!”

About: I started fostering puppies in my early 20’s, have always had a roommate with a dog who I would take care of when they were out of town, got my own dog 3 years ago, and am always happiest when hiking/walking or snuggling on the couch with as many dogs as possible! I’m in Tahoe just for the winter, have a part time job but have tons of availability and flexibility. I take my dog on a long walk everyday, she’s super friendly and loves company! I have a fenced in yard, and a dog who absolutely loves friends. My roommate also have 3 dogs who enjoy having friends as well, the more the merrier in our house! Lots of snuggles, playtime with fur friends, lots of walks and outdoor time and no shortage of affection from humans!
About: Greetings. I’ve had a best friend who was with me everyday for 15 years. I was with her from the beginning to the end. I am sensitive to the needs of our dogs and always very aware of our surroundings. I’m ultra aware of the cayotes up here and all their tricks. With the new smells and distractions for some dogs that are not from here I always feel safer to keep them on leash during our walks. I live alone in a quiet cabin on a quiet street, no traffic and no neighbors. Big fenced back yard and a small gated front porch. I know all the trails in Sierra track as well as the whole area. I’m very flexible and will take care of all the little things that are needed and the unexpected ones that pop up. I know how stressfull it can be traveling and then leaving your best friend with someone. I will communicate with you and make it easy and stress free. It’s a big adjustment not having my sweet girl Francis. I was so used to waking up and she was there, or coming home and she was sitting in my spot waiting for me. Honestly this is good for me having a dog around. It’s helping with this process I’m going through. I am very flexible and available almost anytime and on short notice if life happens. I know how that goes. I know the trails and areas to go that are safe and fun. Im an early riser, and I enjoy mornings walks when it’s nice and quiet with no traffic or crowds of people. I have no problem with taking the pup with me in the car to run a quick errand or even better a day trip somewhere. Some dogs love car rides with the window down and nose out. And some do not. It’s all optional, absolutely no problems leaving him or her at home while I’m out for a sec. I primarily work from home and would be with him/her almost all the time. My dog Francis was a little attached. Maybe loyal is a better word. I was very lucky with her and didn’t have to worry too much. But I learned to never ever let anything happen to her. Very aware of our environment. Cars, other dogs, cayotes, bees , bodies of water and all weather conditions, hot pavement and even to always avoid the drains/grates in the roads ect. I’m not disactred by my phone or anything else. I’ll only feed what the owner approves.
About: We have experience administering oral medications to cats (including pills/capsules and liquid syringe meds), as well as creams, blood sugar tests, and insulin injections. As cozy quiet cat people, we know the importance of a "ready for a cuddle" greeting as well as a "stay away when needed" look from any cat!
About: I have lots of dog experience, I’m a runner as well if you want your dog real tired. I also grew up with a Great Pyrenees and a shitzu so size does not matter to me. I’ve trained all my dogs growing up and have lots of animal care experience Mornings and evenings I do work a 9-5, but on weekends I am more flexible. I usually run in the evening as well if you’re looking for a harder workout I try to burn as many calories, give as much attention and love, then challenge their brains as well so they’re not bored. Always out and about and happy to make an extra stop to check in on a furry friend along the way. I was raised with walking my dog on a leash, and I still believe that is the safest method for a dog when outside walking around the neighborhood or on bike paths. When working with new dogs (or cats) if the area is not fenced in, a leash or harness will be requested so the pets safety is ensured. After creating a relationship with the pet, off leash walks are doable on trails.

“Tim T. is amazing! He got us out of a real bind. We were away from home for a wedding. We found out the day before the wedding that we could not leave our dogs in our hotel room. By some miracle, Tim happened to be available with less than a day notice. He picked up our dogs at the hotel. Usually one of our dogs takes a while to warm up to new people. We were nervous but Tim is some sort of dog whisperer! In no time at all, the dogs were in his car and off for a day of fun. They spent the day taking a drive, then a hike, and then relaxing in the lap of luxury at Tim's house. We got photos throughout the day and it was obvious that Tim was the dogs' new favorite person. We were able to enjoy the wedding stress free. Tim returned the dogs to us late at night. It couldn't have been easier. Our only regret is that we live too far away to make Tim our regular sitter. If he's available, don't hesitate! We'd give Tim more stars if we could!”

I watch many of my friends/neighbors dogs when they are out of town and always make sure they are happy, fed, and included on adventures. I have experience taking dogs trail running, mountain biking, and backcountry skiing. Your dog will be well loved with me! I currently work part time so I have quite a few days a week that I am available for walks/boarding. I do not work weekends unless I pick up extra shifts at work so that is a great time for boarding as well. I live on a quiet back road with a big yard. There is not a fence. There is a big trail system behind my house and I often take dogs up there for exercise. Inside the house, I am always open to having a dog on the couch or bed as long as the owner is. I am not a partier and am an early morning person. Your dog will be sure to get a morning and evening walk at the minimum. The dogs I walk usually come for any adventure with me, but if you have a senior dog that just needs a place to hang out and be loved on, that’s fine too!

Looking to help others who might need a check in or extra walk with their pet during the day or while they’re out on the hill making some turns. I work from home & own a business in town. Always out and about and happy to make an extra stop to check in on a furry friend along the way. I was raised with walking my dog on a leash, and I still believe that is the safest method for a dog when outside walking around the neighborhood or on bike paths. When working with new dogs (or cats) if the area is not fenced in, a leash or harness will be requested so the pets safety is ensured. After creating a relationship with the pet, off leash walks are doable on trails.
About: I have my own 4 year old black lab who loves attention, long walks, and spending time with other dogs. I’ve hosted many dogs through Rover over the past several years and treat every dog as my own. I prefer to walk or dog sit one additional dog at a time so that they can have individualized attention. I will constantly send photos of your pup while they’re with me and will spend time at any of the nearby parks in the city. I work from home full time so I can host your pup when needed. My dog loves to be with other dogs so it’s great to host during the week for extra socializing. I’m typically available on weekends as long as I’m not heading out of town. My dog loves playing with other dogs and loves trips to the park, but he is also in his old man era and will get lazy after a long walk which brings a good balance of chill time and being active.
About: We are 2 sisters who have always had big dogs around (although no dogs at home currently), and we love taking walks around one of the many beautiful parks in the area. We have one cat of our own, and have experience administering medications, including pills, creams, insulin injections, and blood sugar tests. We have a large car with room for dogs in the back. Please let us know upon booking if you'd like us to walk you dog(s) around your neighborhood, our neighborhood (if nearby) or if you'd like us to take them to a dog park. We are trust-worthy people who follow directions well, so whatever you say is safe for your pets, will be our guideline. We always keep an eye out for any danger! We work from home, so we always have time for walks and pets. We have flexible schedules in general and are glad to work with you to find them best time. We always want to best for any animal and to make sure they are comfortable and happy. Feel free to give us any special instructions or guidelines that will make you dog's walk the best it can be!

I am interested in boarding your dog while you enjoy Lake Tahoe. I live near the lake so there will be a daily visits walking along the shores. About: I'm Rachel, a writer with a flexible schedule and a love of all things canine. I live with my husband, and my chocolate Labrador retriever, Ellie, in our West Shore cabin near Homewood. I signed up for Rover because dog sitting helps me get my fix for having a doggy harem. I would love to shower your dog with attention and affection. I volunteer at the local humane society, so I'm very adept at adapting to your dog's needs. I particularly love active dogs, and I'm happy to take your pup on hikes and swims in the lake. I'm also happy to hang out and have a more relaxing day with older, less active pups. Ellie (13) is very well-socialized, and she gets along well with dogs of all sizes. I work from home with a very flexible schedule, so I’m always happy to go out for a walk or a hike. Ellie, my 13-year-old Lab, is always up for meeting a new dog friend. Daycare Rates & Information: Daycare is up to 8 hours of care. Anything longer than that time, please book a boarding stay. Drop-offs anytime after 8 a.m. Pickups before 8 p.m. Although there is a nice buffer of woods near my house, the yard is not fenced (hopefully soon). Gabriel's house was perfect - big fenced back yard and cozy inside. She was allowed to sleep on the bed if she wanted. He was very calm and reassuring. He allowed us to do a short visit to his house before our bigger trip to get her used to being there. Will definitely be using him again!”
