“Ruth did such a great job with my dog! I’ve never left her with a sitter before so I was very nervous, but Ruth is so friendly and kept me updated on how my dog was doing and sent tons of pictures. I hope to use her again in the future. Thank you so much Ruth!”

“Boryana took such great care of our dog River! Received an update every evening with pictures!! She made me feel completely comfortable leaving him while I was away. I will be having her stay with River anytime we go away!”

“Sharyn was AMAZING! She is our new official dog and house sitter. We’ve never had anyone else at our home with our precious dogs, so trust is a really big deal for us. Everything was cleaner than when we left it, and the dogs were clearly happy and safe. We now can finally go on trips and not worry, we know everything will be handled here.”

About: I've had dogs since I was 14 and have taken care of them for family and friends over the years. That includes small and big dogs, young and old. Dogs in general seem to be drawn to me. I'm currently working part-time so that gives me more time to care for your pets and give them the attention they need and deserve. The best thing I can do is make sure your pet is as comfortable as possible while you're away. I do that by keeping them in their same routine everyday and giving them a lot of attention.
“Marissa is so great! She was flexible when my travel arrangements got delayed and sent me lots of pictures of my fur baby. She is very responsive and overall, great to work with!”

“Maci was an absolutely wonderful sitter. She took special care to us and our make our dog, Chopper feel comfortable. She was responsive, professional and a joy to work with. She even got Chopper a new harness! Would 10/10 recommend her and look forward to working with her again.”

“We just came home after leaving our dogs with Nora for the first time, and I can say it was an overall great experience. She communicated well and quickly, followed our detailed instructions, kept great care of our dogs, and left our home in immaculate condition. She was reliable, trustworthy, and had a positive impact on our dogs' well-being. I was a little nervous as it was the first time we had worked with her. She sent a pic of the dogs with her the first evening that put me totally at ease. Highly recommend. - Mike”

“Joanne was a delight to work with and my pet Duke absolutely adored her! As a first time Rover user having someone watch our pet overnight, I didn’t know what to expect but Joanne made it so easy. I would highly recommend Joanne and her pet sitting services. She was reliable, dependable, treated my pet like her own, and also treated my home like her own. I will definitely be asking Joanne to watch Duke again!”

“Kimberly was an amazing dog sitter for our two pups! She followed all of our instructions, communicated with us while we were away with pics and updates and even did some light housework!!! We will def be hiring her the next time we go away!”

“Kelly was a great communicator. Our dogs loved getting to know her. She was responsible with giving one of our dogs medication and following our routine. We wil be using her again for dog sitting needs.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs my whole life, from raising a rescue dog who is now 16 years old, to fostering 6 dogs throughout college who have now found their forever home! I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, high anxiety dogs, and reactive dogs, and believe every dog deserves love and care no matter their journey. My goal is to help animals any way I can, and especially during the holiday season, I’d love to be able to support by watching/walking pets💕 I am currently post-grad and looking to care for your pets on the side! I have a flexible schedule and I am working from my computer, so as long as I have my laptop I can be anywhere! I am able to work with all kinds of pets, big or small, shy or wild, calm or timid! I can fulfill many requests such as crating, relaxing, walking, playing, and bathing!

About: Hi, I'm Kayla! I’ve loved animals my entire life and can't wait to meet your fur babies. Growing up, my family had a big dog, so I am completely comfortable with large breeds and know exactly how to handle their energy and strength. Today, I am a proud pet parent to a sweet black cat. Having both a big dog in my past and a cat in my present gives me a great understanding of both canine and feline personalities.Whether your pet needs energetic playtime or quiet, patient companionship, I am ready to give them all the love and attention they deserve! I’m currently looking for employment, which means my schedule is highly flexible and I have plenty of free time to dedicate entirely to your pets! In My Home: Your pet will have a cozy, welcoming environment with plenty of space to relax, a clear routine, and my full, undivided attention throughout the day. In Your Home: I treat your space with respect and follow your exact instructions to keep your pet's routine consistent, safe, and entirely stress-free. On Walks: Safety is my top priority, so I use secure leashes, maintain high alertness, and provide fresh water and fun exercise at your pet's preferred pace.
About: Hi there! I’m a lifelong animal lovers with a deep passion of caring for pets of all kinds. Growing up surrounded by cats, dogs, and plenty of other furry (and not-so-furry) friends taught me how much love and care they deserve. My top priority is always making sure your pets are happy, healthy, and feeling loved. From feeding routines and walks to cuddle time (or just calm company for the more independent types), I make sure each pet feels comfortable and cared for according to their unique personality. I love keeping pets engaged with fun, stimulating activities. For cats, that might mean interactive toys, puzzle feeders, or laser play. For dogs, it’s usually games of fetch, tug-of-war, or a good old-fashioned frisbee toss. Even reptiles get the same thoughtful attention (maybe less cuddling, but plenty of care and respect!). Every pet deserves the best care possible, and that’s what I promise to provide. Whether you’re going away for a day or a week, I will treat your furry family member as if they were our own. I’d love to meet your pets and help you feel at ease while you’re away!
“Rosie had a great time with Danielle and was very well cared for :) Danielle kept us updated with frequent messages and photos. Thank you for taking care of our fur baby!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 2,796 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Upper Freehold. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Upper Freehold walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Upper Freehold maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Upper Freehold choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Upper Freehold. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
