Boryana took amazing care of our senior pitbull, Brady. She was very patient with his quirks and eccentricities (e.g. he has acquired a habit of lying down for rests mid-walk). He often seems a little out of sorts after we come back from a long trip, but this time he was very relaxed and happy. Communication was top notch and our house was left in perfect condition. We can't recommend Boryana highly enough, and hope she'll be available to take care of Brady again in the future!

Sharyn stayed at my house and took care of my dog while I was away for 6 nights. She was very kind to my dog and he was happy and looked great when I arrived home. The house was well taken care of as well. I will definitely have Sharyn care for my dog again in the future.

About: I've had dogs since I was 14 and have taken care of them for family and friends over the years. That includes small and big dogs, young and old. Dogs in general seem to be drawn to me. I'm currently working part-time so that gives me more time to care for your pets and give them the attention they need and deserve. The best thing I can do is make sure your pet is as comfortable as possible while you're away. I do that by keeping them in their same routine everyday and giving them a lot of attention.

About: Dogs have always been a big part of my life. I've provided overnight care in clients' homes for multiple days at a time, walked dogs regularly, and cared for pets while owners are away. I make sure every dog gets plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, and affection while keeping them on their normal schedule. My goal is always to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while giving owners peace of mind. I am currently working Monday-Thursday from 9 am - 4 pm. I am available before that shift, and after! I am also available on the weekends anytime! For my home, I do not bring other people's pets into my house because I have a dog, who is friendly, but he is old and grouchy. In my client's home, I care for the pets in whatever way their owner needs and more. I love walking and playing, and will do everything to make your pet comfortable and happy!

Vee was absolutely wonderful! She cared for my dog with love and dedication and left my home in pristine condition. She communicated regularly and was very responsible. Most important, she was patient and determined to get my dog to eat and take her meds (she is older and has health issues) and kept me informed. I could not ask for better care! My dog is happy and healthy!

About: When you entrust your pet to me, you're choosing someone whose career has been built on compassion, responsibility, and exceptional care. As a registered nurse with over 12 years of experience, I understand that every living being deserves individualized attention, patience, and a safe, nurturing environment. Caring for others is second nature to me. Throughout my nursing career, I've specialized in caring for seniors and individuals with unique medical and emotional needs. Those same skills translate seamlessly to pet care. Whether your pet is a playful puppy or kitten, a senior needing extra patience, requires medication, has special needs, or simply thrives with extra love and attention, I have the experience and confidence to provide attentive, reliable care. Animals have been a part of my life since childhood, and caring for them has always been more than a job—it's a passion. In addition to nursing, I own and operate my own concierge nursing and pet care business, where trust, professionalism, and personalized service are the foundation of everything I do. I know leaving your pet behind can be stressful. My goal is to give you complete peace of mind by treating your dog or cat like a member of my own family. You'll receive dependable communication, regular updates, and the reassurance that your pet is safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you're away. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all pet care. Every pet has a unique personality, routine, and needs, and I take the time to make sure they feel happy, secure, and loved from the moment they arrive. My commitment is to provide the same level of compassion, attention, and professionalism that I would want for my own pets. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I work as a nurse three days a week, which allows me plenty of flexibility and dedicated time on my days off to focus on pet care. On my off days, I structure my schedule around the pets I’m caring for by making sure they receive consistent attention, exercise, feeding, playtime, and any needed special care or medication. Because I’m used to working in a caregiving profession, I’m very organized and attentive to routines, which helps pets feel comfortable and secure. My goal is to provide dependable, unhurried care so each pet gets the attention they deserve, whether that’s extra walks, cuddle time, or sticking closely to their normal routine. I provide flexible, reliable, and attentive care both in my home and in my clients’ homes, depending on what works best for you and your pet. I offer drop-in visits, daily care, and overnight stays, as well as boarding in my own home where pets are welcomed into a safe, calm, and loving environment. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to follow all instructions closely including feeding schedules, walks, medication, playtime, and any special routines are handled with consistency and care. I prioritize keeping pets comfortable in their familiar surroundings while maintaining their normal routine as much as possible. When pets stay in my home, they are treated like part of the family. I provide a clean, safe, and supervised environment where they receive plenty of attention, affection, and individualized care throughout the day. In all settings, I treat every pet as if they were my own, with patience, respect, and genuine love. I also believe in clear communication, so I provide regular updates and check-ins to give you peace of mind while you're away. My goal is always to ensure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for at all times.

Ryan was great! She stayed with our "pups" (as she cutely called them) for almost a week. Right from the start she sent texts, photos, and a sense that all was under control. Meeting her before the stay both her experience as a student working towards going to vet school and as a horse owner sealed the deal. We'd happily use her again.

About: I grew up with dogs and love spending time with them! I’ve helped watch families and friends pets and love being able to spend quality time with them! I’ve helped with dogs as small as malteses and as big as goldendoodles! Ive also helped dogs with specific needs such as blind and older dogs! I work remote one day a week so I’m happy to watch dogs or take them out, I just need a heads up to pick the day I work from home. I also typically work 8-4:30 so I’m happy to take dogs out in the mornings before work or as soon as I get home! I’m also happy to do weekends. I have a fenced yard for any pet to wander around in and am happy to walk them around my neighborhood park! No other pets in the home!

Michaela is awesome! We had no worries while we were out of the country! She spoiled our dog rotten even crocheted him a sweater! They were constantly at the park. Buddy’s favorite place. Our dog takes lots of medication and Michaela handled it with ease. We received text messages and pictures with updates. She even washed the sheets and remade the bed before we returned! Michaela went the extra mile in all that she did while we were away! Our neighbors commented that they really liked her too! Our dog and home was well cared for and she is extremely reliable! We are very grateful we found her and have scheduled her to come back for dog walking. I highly recommend her!

About: I’ve been raising and caring for dogs for over 10 years, and they truly are my world. I’ve raised four puppies and have hands-on experience with dogs at every stage of life—from energetic young dogs to seniors, as well as rescue, reactive, and special-needs dogs, including caring for a dog with cancer. I know how stressful it can feel to leave your pets with someone new—I’ve been there myself and struggled to find reliable care for my own dogs. Because of that, I take trust, communication, and consistency very seriously. You’ll always know what’s going on at home, and I’m happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel completely at ease. I’m calm, attentive, and very tuned in to each dog’s needs and routines. Whether your dog loves playtime, quiet companionship, or just sticking to their usual schedule, I make sure they feel secure and cared for while you’re away. I follow your dog’s routine as closely as possible so they feel comfortable and secure in their own space. I can prepare food the way your dog is used to, give medications and vitamins (I know all the tricks!), and adjust to any specific needs or preferences. I’m currently available for evening visits and overnight stays in your home (6 pm - 7 am) —perfect if you’re traveling but have daytime care already arranged, or even if you just need someone to stay with your puppy while you’re out for the evening. Weekend availability on case by case basis. I am only available to watch your dogs in your home, where we can follow the schedule they are used to. About: Hi! My name is Piyawadee, you can call me Annie, and I’m a lifelong dog lover with a genuine passion for caring for animals. I’ve had dogs my entire life, and currently I have a beagle of my own who brings so much joy to my daily routine. Spending time with dogs has always been something special to me—they’re not just pets, they’re incredible companions. I truly believe dogs have a unique way of providing comfort and emotional support, and they’ve always helped lift my spirits, no matter what kind of day I’m having. Caring for dogs isn’t just something I’m experienced in—it’s something I genuinely enjoy. In fact, I’ve always felt that if I ever changed careers, working with dogs would be my dream job. Being around them brings me happiness, reduces stress, and gives me a sense of fulfillment that’s hard to find elsewhere. That’s exactly why I decided to become a dog sitter. I’m excited to spend my free time, weekends, and days off helping others by taking care of their beloved pets. I understand how important it is to know your dog is in safe, caring hands, and I will treat your dog with the same love and attention I give my own. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I'm currently working from home 2 days a week and off the whole weekend. I can provide boarding, walking, and drop-in services from Friday to Sunday. I live in the house with the big backyard in a great neighborhood. I can walk the dog around the neighborhood and play with your dog in the backyard. Our yard is unfenced, but we are planning to build the fence in this summer.

Sharyn is such a wonderful and trustworthy person! She has provided drop in service for be before, but this weekend I booked her for house sitting for the first time. Of course, the night before I went out of town...my dog got sick and needed medication and supportive care. Sharyn didn't skip a beat. She followed all my medication and feeding instructions and ensured that my dog had a comfortable night. She kept me posted with pictures and reports. I had total piece of mind while I was away. I look forward to working with Sharyn again.

Shalini was wonderful with my GSD Izzy. She was very generously extended her sit time when I was running behind to ensure Izzy would not be left alone and took the time to first meet Izzy even prior to her sit to familiarize herself with Izzy’s training and needs. She is a lovely, professional and highly dependable sitter and we would book her again without hesitation (in fact we already have)!

FAQs for House Sitting - Etra

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Etra on Rover is $42 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 2,901 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Etra. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Etra walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Etra maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Etra choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Etra. On Rover:

  • 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
