“10/10 sitter! Excellent communication, did everything we requested and sent so many photos! I could tell from the pics how much my dogs loved Tatum. She is definitely someone we will use again!”

“Our dog was in the best hands with Emma! We were gone for over a week and she made sure our girl had all the company, attention and walks she could want! Communication was amazing, especially when there was a huge unexpected snow storm! She problem solved with us the best way to ensure she could continue to take care of our dog with weather conditions making it impossible to drive. Our dog is more reserved with new people but she took to Emma immediately during her meet and greet and by a few days in to house sitting was fully comfortable with her! Our dog was happy to see us come home, but I think she's really going to miss her friend, Emma. Would 100% book again!”

“Ashley is the best. I needed someone to house sit for my two dogs and she took amazing care of them. She was super attentive and responsible which made me feel very at ease while on vacation.”

About: As an experienced dog/house sitter who has rescued/fostered numerous dogs in the past 18 years and also a volunteer at my local animal shelter, I treat your family members as my own while they are in my care. I understand leaving your animals with someone can be very stressful not only for you but your furry family members. I don't mind staying in your home as I know some animals are more comfortable and less stressed in their own environment. I am a full time remote worker since 2020. I am very much a homebody who enjoys watching true crime shows, reading and doing puzzles. I like to get to know the owners and pets and stick to their normal routine as to not cause more stress for the animals while their owners are away.
“Briana did a great job house sitting for us and taking care of our cat, puppy and older dog. She even came the day before so I could go over details with her. Would definitely recommend her to others!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for multiple family friends and I have enjoyed it. I love dogs in general and I’m a very reliable and responsible person. I substitute teach usually my days are 7:30-3:30 and I’m free the rest of the day (depending if they call me in) The rest of the week days I’m free for your dogs service! I take my dog outside to go potty and feed them and give them medicine. I also take them on walks sometimes when I’m free.
“Elisa did an amazing job with our 4 dogs. They were well taken care of, she was very reliable, went above and beyond what was asked and my dogs love her. Would absolutely use her again, we had complete peace of mind leaving them in her hands.”

“Tarah is amazing. She cared for our fur baby during the 4th weekend and Miss. Remi gets very anxious with loud sounds but Tarah went above and beyond to keep her comfortable. When we first met Tarah she was very personable and Remi went straight to her. She has excellent communication skills while keeping your pet. We highly recommend Tarah. We will definitely ask her to keep Remi again.”

About: I have always been a lover of any type of animal, but dogs would have to be my favorite! My entire family has always owned an animal of some sort, and I currently have 2 dogs. I believe that no good will come out of a rushed walk and no enjoyment will come out of one either. Healthy length walks lead to better mental health and well-being for your dog. I can provide leashes and baggies if needed, and as long as there are no specific allergies or rules, I will bring treats along as well. I enjoy animals and the care that is involved in making sure our fur babies are safe and happy! I would love to work with you and your dog! I will be starting back at Sinclair on the 22nd of August, However most of my classes are online, so there will be plenty of time for walks, drop in sits, etc. My family has a huge fenced yard that our two dogs love to sun bathe/play in. The dogs enjoy getting at least 2 walks a day around our neighborhood, sometimes to JDs Frozen Custard for pup cups!🤎
About: I love taking care of pets and making sure they’re happy and safe. Whether your dog loves walks or your cat just wants to chill, I’ll make sure they get all the attention they need. I’ve been doing this for 2 years now, so I know how to take care of all kinds of pets. I’ll send updates and pics so you can see how much fun they’re having while you’re away. Your pets will be in great hands I am currently a part-time college student. I dog walking in pet care to earn money while in school. i’ve always enjoyed taking care of pets. I have two cats of my own and one dog I like to go on walks so earning money while walking as a win-win for me. I have a fence for my dog and I occasionally walk my cats. I take my own dog on a walk every morning before I start my day.
About: Ever since I was a child, I was responsible for the care of a variety of animals, and I mean solely responsible. Growing up (and today), I was the one that friends and family came to for pet sitters and care/training advice. I prioritize following pet care instructions to a tee- I do not cut corners on even the most “meticulous” of care instructions. With me, you can trust that your fur babies will receive the highest quality of care and attention because of my intrinsic love for animals. My days vary a lot, but I am often able to make time if you give me a week’s notice. If you need urgent pet care, do not hesitate to reach out. I cannot promise that I will 100% be available, but I will make the time if I have it. Honestly, I prefer to play by the owner’s rules when caring for their pets. Besides that, I refuse to take anything but a gentle approach with the pets. I am very careful to only administer treats/toys as the owner instructs.

“We cannot say enough good things about Mackenzie! She took such good care of our babies. It was the best decision, she made our vacation worry free. My dogs were so happy and well taken care of. Mackenzie stayed at our home while we were gone, our dogs were in excellent hands, house was perfectly clean, she was very professional and kind and sent frequent updates letting me know how my dogs were doing. We will definitely be using her again!”

About: Hi there! Caring for animals has been second nature to me for as long as I can remember. Whether it’s dogs or cats, I’ve lovingly looked after both my own pets and others’ for years. I welcome detailed instructions and will always follow your preferences to ensure your fur baby feels safe, happy, and at ease. I have experience with all breeds and temperaments, and I specialize in senior pet care. My own pup is 14 years old, so I understand the extra love, patience, and attention they need. I also know that some pets need a little time to warm up to new people, and that’s completely okay. I’m respectful of their pace. Before any drop-ins or vacation care, I highly recommend scheduling a meet-and-greet or a walk so your pet can get to know me in a familiar environment. This helps build trust and ensures a smoother experience for everyone involved. You’ll never feel out of the loop! I love sending regular updates and plenty of cute photos, because I know how important it is to stay connected when you’re away from your best friend. I’m here to give your pet the same level of love and attention I’d want for mine. Looking forward to meeting you both soon! I have no schedule on the weekends but I try my best to be flexible through the weekdays. I am solely here to help you get the care your pet needs while your working or even away for vacation. Within my home, my dog is free range due to being house trained. Your instructions will never be too detailed for me! I will follow your instructions to the tea. Just let me know what all you need for me to do :)
“Tyler was amazing! The pups didn’t seem to miss us at all. She was attentive and provided photos frequently without any prompt. Will definitely be using her again for our pups.”

About: I have always cared for my friends animals when they are traveling and I also have had my cat Nola for 5 years. I’m also familiar with animals having anxiety and how to care for them by creating a routine that’s safe and fun. I have an open schedule currently so I’m open to flexibility during the day and some afternoons. I’m on break from my Masters program so my time is pretty open. I would make sure that any special needs your sweet baby needs is taken care of with extreme amount of love and care. I understand how important it is to be gentle especially when meeting new pets who might have anxiety.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Union walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Union maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Union choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
