“Lianne and David are the loveliest of people. Kind and caring and real dog lovers. My Mabel was thoroughly looked after (spoiled 🥰) with lots of love and attention. Definitely recommend and we will be back! Thank you, Px”

“Shirley-Ann and her lovely husband took care of my 2 fur babies and honestly our dogs loved staying with them. They had the best time ever and were very well looked after and loved. I received loads of amazing photos and updates about my fur babies which made me feel so relaxed and happy knowing they were in the best hands ever. We’re going away next year and our babies are staying with Shirley-Ann again because honestly we could not have picked the most perfect couple to look after our doggies. Thank you so much Shirley-Ann, you did a brilliant job and made my babies stay stress free and tranquil. Bron and Ross xx”

“Nina looked after our dog at her home while we were away on holiday, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care she provided. She was kind, considerate, and incredibly gentle, and it was clear from the start that our dog was in very safe hands. We especially loved the regular photos and updates Nina sent while we were away- it was so reassuring to see how happy and settled our dog was. Nina took her out to some lovely places, kept her active and busy, and clearly gave her lots of attention and affection. We would absolutely recommend Nina to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter. We will definitely be re-booking the next time we go away!”

“As always, our Teddy loves staying here. The attention and love he gets, hes never unhappy and always kept upto date with photos and messages. Thanks Sarah and Paul (and Harvey ❤️) x”

“Nick has looked after my dog twice now and has done a great job both times. He sends lots of updates and pictures and both times I've come back to a happy dog, tired out from all the walkies she's been on - couldn't ask for more!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 11, family, friends and neighbours have always asked me to walk and care for their dogs when they are busy and give them a happy loving place when they can’t be around. I now have 2 dogs of my own a chihuahua and a French bulldog they’re both fully trained, they’re spoilt everyday with love and lots of play time. I love making a dogs day the best day possible while in my care. I’m available everyday from morning to afternoon and have plenty of time to play with your pups! You can always count on me to be ready to give your pets the best day! I have a dog to keep your fur baby company, we will have plenty of cuddles and play time. You will have no need to worry when leaving your babies with me they will always be in the safest hands having loads of fun.
About: I grew up with pets so I know what it takes to keep them happy & healthy. I am very energetic and good at keeping control of the leash during walks. Beagles have a special place in my heart. I have owned birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, cats, fish, and dogs. Dogs are the world's greatest friends. Having me as a dog walker/sitter will make you feel at ease because you know your dog is safe with me. I am very reliable, and have good references. I am available any day and time. I work from home, which provides a lot of flexibility and allows me to spend time with my dog and take care of others. I have a friendly beagle to keep your dog company. Dogs are allowed upstairs and on the furniture. My home is there home! There are quiet spaces provided if your dog prefers to be in its own environment.
“Tabitha and Ben looked after Bosley so well, as if he was part of their family. I knew that while I was enjoying my holiday, he was enjoying his. Thank you both for taking my boy into your family.”

“I stumbled upon Andrea's services and I can't believe how lucky I got! She treated my dog like her own and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and well cared for. She sent updates frequently, provided special food, long walks, and lots of affection. ❤️ I was able to completely relax and enjoy a holiday because of how wonderful and ease she made me feel. Can't recommend enough!”

“If I could leave 10 stars then I would, this was the most loving and caring place you could send your dog If you need too, Ernie was treated better than I could of ever imagined, had daily contact and photos to put our mind at ease and he absolutely adored being there, couldn’t praise her and her husband enough, would definitely take him back xxx”

About: I’ve had a dog ever since I was little and absolutely love them! 8 years ago I became a qualified Dog groomer which I still love doing, before this I done 2 years at college in animal care. Being a dog groomer has gave me the experience with handling or sorts of different dogs. I’m currently at work on Mondays. I’m at home for the majority of the week with my daughter so that gives us plenty of time to spend with your doggies Our garden is completely fenced off with two gates. If you’d like your dog to be crated we are happy to do so but would need to be supplied.
“I would 100% recommend Gemma and her family. Gemma responded really quickly to my request, invited us over, listened and understood our tricky spaniel and his anxieties. They were not phased at all and Chester loved their dog straight away and they were off in the garden running around. They took him on adventures to the park and also for a lovely beach day, and sent lots of photos. I honestly could not have felt happier leaving him anywhere. Such a lovely friendly family and their children loved Chester and made a fuss of him too.”

“What a treat for our dog Cali to have stayed with Monique and her lovely family. She settled in very quickly and we were so delighted to hear that she was totally at home. We definitely had a better break away knowing she was happy and well cared for.”

“Highly recommend! my dog had the most amazing weekend and won’t be going anywhere else in future only to Bonnie she updated me with constant photos day and night, I’m very pleased I had a very happy dog x”

“So pleased with Jasmine and how she looked after Athena! It was her first time staying with Jasmine and it was clear that she was a very happy girl when we picked her up and was looking after! Jasmine was very sweet and professional and provided us with updates about what they were up to! Will definitely use Jasmine again for longer stays when we are next away. Thank you! 😊”

“Cannot recommend Abi enough. Our boy had the absolute best time with her and Rory and Abi kept us updated and sent over lots of pictures and videos. She also gave us the cutest little 'staycation' card from his visit including a little pawprint. Thank you so much Abi 💙”

“Sue and Tim was looking after our dog Toby for 9 days while we were on holiday. Sue accepted my request last minute, as we were let down by someone few days before our flight. And by the look of it Tony had the best time. He was walked few times a day, also Tim and Sue was taking Tobi to the cafe and pub also to the seaside, so he wasn’t left at home alone. Toby was very happy and relaxed when we picked him up ☺️ Definitely 5 stars!!”

“Alison and her family were absolutely amazing with my doggo Daisy! She is nervous around new people and they made the extra effort to meet her and understand her before her stay! Throughout the whole trip I received so many photos of her amazing walks and care! I really could not recommend Alison more and will definitely be booking Daisy in for a staycation again :)”

Dog owners share their Rover experiences - Waveney
Paige helped us out a very short notice, for which we are grateful. She ensured that our pup was the right fit before proceeding with the booking which as owners was very reassuring. Our pup ran into Paige's house and barely looked back (he can sniff out good humans!). He was so well cared for and loved for his short visit and we loved receiving updates from Paige for our peace of mind. 10/10 recommended sitter.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
