Nina and her family welcomed Teilo into the home with warmth and reassurance. Nina is experienced with, and knowledgeable about dogs and has a calm, confident and affectionate manner with them. Teilo settled in very quickly and got lots of walks, play and attention. It was great for him to be with Nina's two dogs who were friendly and accepting of Teilo in their home, as he doesn't often get time with other dogs. I got regular communication and lots of photos. I will be using Nina again and recommend her to anyone looking for a five star sitter.

We couldn't have asked for better people to look after our dog. From the moment we met them, it was clear how caring, kind, and genuine they are. They treated our dog like one of their own, and it gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We received regular updates and lots of lovely photos, which meant so much to us and reassured us that our dog was happy, relaxed, and being so well cared for. It was obvious how much love and attention they gave throughout the stay. We are incredibly grateful for everything they did and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and reliable dog sitter. Thank you so much for taking such amazing care of our dog – we'll definitely be booking with you again!

Diane looked after our dog Rufus for the weekend in her home. We received regular updates and photos which we were very grateful for. It was a hot weekend and Diane was so considerate of this, ensuring that Rufus was only walked in the cooler mornings/evenings. Rufus returned so calm and happy we would definitely use Diane again and recommend her to others. Thanks Diane!

About: I grew up with pets so I know what it takes to keep them happy & healthy. I am very energetic and good at keeping control of the leash during walks. Beagles have a special place in my heart. I have owned birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, cats, fish, and dogs. Dogs are the world's greatest friends. Having me as a dog walker/sitter will make you feel at ease because you know your dog is safe with me. I am very reliable, and have good references. I am available any day and time. I work from home, which provides a lot of flexibility and allows me to spend time with my dog and take care of others. I have a friendly beagle to keep your dog company. Dogs are allowed upstairs and on the furniture. My home is there home! There are quiet spaces provided if your dog prefers to be in its own environment.

About: Hi, I’m Hannah! I have grown up surrounded by pets, so caring for animals has always been a huge part of my life. I have my own dog and I know how important it is to find someone you can completely trust with your pet. I also work in the pet travel industry, so I’m lucky enough to spend my days surrounded by everything dog-related! I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of love, attention, playtime and cuddles, and I’ll always keep you updated with photos and messages so you can relax while you’re away. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry best friend! I work from home full-time, so I have lots of flexibility to give your pet plenty of attention and companionship throughout the day. I offer dog walking, drop-in visits and overnight stays, with activities including walks, playtime, feeding, cuddles and sticking to your pet’s usual routine to help them feel happy and settled. As a dog owner myself, I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust. I’ll care for them as if they were my own and keep you updated with plenty of photos and little messages, so you can relax knowing they’re safe, loved and having a great time. Your pet’s safety and happiness will always be my top priority. I have a secure, fully enclosed garden where they can safely play, explore and enjoy fresh air, and because I work from home they’ll rarely be left alone. About: I’ve got experience with taking care of lots of different types of dogs as I have helped out with friends and family. I have always loved dogs from a young age and always treat any dog that i look after like my own - making sure they are fed and watered, walked daily and making time to play. I currently work part time (Monday - Wednesday) and I generally only have to go into the office on a Tuesday, therefore I can be at home every day apart from Tuesdays. I have a fenced garden and live in a safe and quiet little village just outside of Norwich. I don’t have any pets so your Dog will get my full attention :)

About: I’ve had a dog ever since I was little and absolutely love them! 8 years ago I became a qualified Dog groomer which I still love doing, before this I done 2 years at college in animal care. Being a dog groomer has gave me the experience with handling or sorts of different dogs. I’m currently at work on Mondays. I’m at home for the majority of the week with my daughter so that gives us plenty of time to spend with your doggies Our garden is completely fenced off with two gates. If you’d like your dog to be crated we are happy to do so but would need to be supplied.

Such a kind and thoughtful woman. Our dog is allergic to Christmas trees, and Andrea was so accommodating, that she moved her tree away from any areas our dog had access too. We got the feeling that nothing was too much trouble for her, and we're very grateful that she could take in our dog at such short notice. We would definitely recommend Andrea and her beautiful dog.

We needed something last minute to look after our dog as we come away on holiday and when we booked the holiday didn’t realise how hot the weather was going to be And could not leave her in the caravan by herself whilst we was out and we couldn’t bring her with us due to it also being too hot. Macey took on a last minute booking and it was a great help. Bubbles was looked after so well, I was send updates as to how she was doing regularly and I had absolutely no problems at all. Even though my dog didn’t make the best first impression, macey was so lovely about it and bubbles had a great day. Would definitely use again if we are in the area. Thank you so much.

Jemima is a brilliant Dogsitter. I felt very happy leaving our miniature dachshund Otto with her for the day as on meeting she is a lovely calm person who I knew our dog would be happy with. She sent me a photo of him chilling with her on the sofa. After I picked him up Otto was very relaxed and settled down quickly at home. I would highly recommend Jemima to other dog owners and will definitely use her services again.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.

When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:

  • Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
  • Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
  • Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
  • Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates

Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
