“Amazing couple, with a clear love of animals. I was so nervous leaving cain, but he had a wonderful time, which was clear in the regular updates received. Highly recommend.”

“Nina looked after our dog at her home while we were away on holiday, and we couldn’t have been happier with the care she provided. She was kind, considerate, and incredibly gentle, and it was clear from the start that our dog was in very safe hands. We especially loved the regular photos and updates Nina sent while we were away- it was so reassuring to see how happy and settled our dog was. Nina took her out to some lovely places, kept her active and busy, and clearly gave her lots of attention and affection. We would absolutely recommend Nina to anyone looking for a caring and trustworthy pet sitter. We will definitely be re-booking the next time we go away!”

You will have no need to worry when leaving your babies with me they will always be in the safest hands having loads of fun.
“Highly recommend Sandra to look after your dogs. We were able to enjoy our holiday knowing Amber & George were well looked after by Sandra & Chris. This was Amber’s 3rd stay and George’s 2nd stay, they absolutely had a fab time again playing with Oscar and Dobby. We have already booked them for them to go back again. Thanks again”

“Lianne and David were brilliant!! Wilf loved his stay with them and they couldn’t do enough to make him feel at home and comfortable . They were so lovely and so sensitive to his needs . From start to finish we didn’t have to worry at all and were able to have a great holiday … Wilf had the best time, he loved Lianne and David. I think he was a bit annoyed when we brought him home after his stay !! Thank you both so much”

“First time for our dog to stay with Shirley and thrilled to say he had a great time! Lovely calm house with Shirley's three dogs, lots of space, great secure gardens and we felt really reassured that he would be well looked after.”

“Diane looked after our dog Rufus for the weekend in her home. We received regular updates and photos which we were very grateful for. It was a hot weekend and Diane was so considerate of this, ensuring that Rufus was only walked in the cooler mornings/evenings. Rufus returned so calm and happy we would definitely use Diane again and recommend her to others. Thanks Diane!”

About: I grew up with pets so I know what it takes to keep them happy & healthy. I am very energetic and good at keeping control of the leash during walks. Beagles have a special place in my heart. I have owned birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, cats, fish, and dogs. Dogs are the world's greatest friends. Having me as a dog walker/sitter will make you feel at ease because you know your dog is safe with me. I am very reliable, and have good references. I am available any day and time. I work from home, which provides a lot of flexibility and allows me to spend time with my dog and take care of others. I have a friendly beagle to keep your dog company. Dogs are allowed upstairs and on the furniture. My home is there home! There are quiet spaces provided if your dog prefers to be in its own environment.
“Cannot recommend Abi enough. Our boy had the absolute best time with her and Rory and Abi kept us updated and sent over lots of pictures and videos. She also gave us the cutest little 'staycation' card from his visit including a little pawprint. Thank you so much Abi 💙”

“I stumbled upon Andrea's services and I can't believe how lucky I got! She treated my dog like her own and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and well cared for. She sent updates frequently, provided special food, long walks, and lots of affection. ❤️ I was able to completely relax and enjoy a holiday because of how wonderful and ease she made me feel. Can't recommend enough!”

“We needed something last minute to look after our dog as we come away on holiday and when we booked the holiday didn’t realise how hot the weather was going to be And could not leave her in the caravan by herself whilst we was out and we couldn’t bring her with us due to it also being too hot. Macey took on a last minute booking and it was a great help. Bubbles was looked after so well, I was send updates as to how she was doing regularly and I had absolutely no problems at all. Even though my dog didn’t make the best first impression, macey was so lovely about it and bubbles had a great day. Would definitely use again if we are in the area. Thank you so much.”

“Highly recommend! my dog had the most amazing weekend and won’t be going anywhere else in future only to Bonnie she updated me with constant photos day and night, I’m very pleased I had a very happy dog x”

“I would 100% recommend Gemma and her family. Gemma responded really quickly to my request, invited us over, listened and understood our tricky spaniel and his anxieties. They were not phased at all and Chester loved their dog straight away and they were off in the garden running around. They took him on adventures to the park and also for a lovely beach day, and sent lots of photos. I honestly could not have felt happier leaving him anywhere. Such a lovely friendly family and their children loved Chester and made a fuss of him too.”

“Absolutely amazing! We struggle to leave Murphy with anyone due to his (and ours) anxious. However they kept in constant contact whilst we were away and Murphy instantly felt relaxed with them! We will be going with Ann and Jacques for the foreseeable now! Can’t thank them enough!”

“Monique has looked after Ray two times whilst we were away, he has been well looked after by her and the family and came back a happy pup!! Will definitely be reserving with her again in the future!”

“Heidi looked after my boy at short notice for 10 days and sent me regular updates about their time together. On my return, my dog appears happy and healthy and I believe he was well loved whilst I was away. Thank you!”

“Mozzi had a wonderful time. Photos taken of her walks and Julie and Ruby were lovely. Mozzi was so much happier than when she goes in kennel's so will definitely come back again Wonderful experience 😁”

Jemima is a brilliant Dogsitter. I felt very happy leaving our miniature dachshund Otto with her for the day as on meeting she is a lovely calm person who I knew our dog would be happy with. She sent me a photo of him chilling with her on the sofa. After I picked him up Otto was very relaxed and settled down quickly at home. I would highly recommend Jemima to other dog owners and will definitely use her services again.

Finding the right boarding environment is all about peace of mind. Boarding with a sitter on Rover helps you find a cosy experience in a real home for your dog.
When searching for a host, look for a sitter who:
- Offers a secure, home-like environment that is clean and welcoming
- Adheres to your dog’s established routine for meals, activity, and rest
- Possesses relevant experience with your pet’s specific breed, size, and personality
- Maintains clear communication regarding the frequency of photo and message updates
Don’t skip the Meet & Greet! The free Meet & Greet is the best way to see where your dog will sleep and who they might play with.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poo breaks occured. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available for dedicated customer support by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalised, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog's vaccines is the best way to be 'boarding ready'. Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Sitters in East of England may request that your dog be up-to-date on core vaccines, such as Canine Distemper, Canine Parvovirus, Canine Adenovirus (also known as DHP or DHPPi), Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough. Cats may be required to have Feline Panleucopenia Virus, Feline Herpesvirus, Feline Calicivirus, and Feline Leukaemia Virus up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to £25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
We require sitters to operate in compliance with applicable local licensing requirements. In England, pet sitters who board dogs or provide doggy day care as a business may need a valid licence under the Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) Regulations 2018. When vetting your sitter, ask if they meet local licensing requirements for dog boarding. This confirmation is important for coverage under the Rover Guarantee. Read more about our requirement for following local licensing requirements .
