“We are very grateful for Deanne's help watching our fur babies! She was responsive, kept us up to date, and sent tons of pictures. Clearly the dogs enjoyed her company!”

“I received multiple pictures of Maxximus and Lola and messages from Sarah while I was away. This reassurance allowed me to enjoy my vacation. She also kept the house organized for my return. Thank you!!!”

About: I've taken care of pets from as earliest as birth and into their elderly years, since I was 8. My family would occasionally breed our American Akitas. I've trained them, bathed them, cleaned up after them, and administered medications. They are a ton of work, but always worth the effort when we saw them finally meet their forever homes. I am available for whatever service you need, except for boarding, most days of the week except Thursdays after 2 pm, Fridays, and Saturdays before 2 pm. I am unable to care for your pet at my residence. We have 5 dogs here currently and I wouldn't want to overwhelm your pet with so many new faces. I am more than willing to be as accommodating as needed to care for them in your home, walking them, or simply letting out for a potty break.
“Cassandra did a wonderful job with my dog Maisy. Right before leaving for vacation my dog spent 3 days in an emergency hospital for a toxin overdose. Cassandra made me feel so at ease leaving Maisy with her. She accommodated follow up visits with my normal vet and communicated well with me. I trust her completely with my dog and my home. Everything was in wonderful shape when I came back. Highly recommend.”

“Haylee was great with Duke and Zoe. She was communicative and sent pictures and videos. Given that Zoe is older and has a few special needs, she managed our anxiety about leaving her very well. Her experience with large dogs and meds was super helpful and put us at ease.”

“Alexandra was excellent! She followed my instructions and took very good care of Paula. I trust her completely. She also left my house in great condition which I have issues with in the past. I can’t wait to use her services again.”

“Declan did a fantastic job watching Gordon and Steven while I was away for the weekend. He stayed at my house, kept everything clean, followed all of the instructions, and took great care of the boys. When I got home, the house was in excellent shape, the dogs were happy and well cared for, and it was obvious they had gotten plenty of attention. Communication was easy throughout the stay, which gave me peace of mind while I was traveling. I would absolutely trust Declan to watch my dogs and home again, and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and responsible sitter.”

“Kelly was an exceptional sitter for our senior dog Jynx. He was a very happy camper when we got home so we knew he was well taken care of during his time with Kelly. She took care of our home like it was her own and I would highly recommend Kelly to sit for any dog owner who is going to be away. We would definitely have her watch Jynx again in the future..”

“Ava was amazing with both of my girls. She took extremely good care of them and spent so much time with them. They absolutely loved her. She follow all of my instructions to the T. Couldn’t say enough praise for Ava. You can tell she really cares and loves pets. She will treat them as her own. Highly recommend hiring her.”

I am currently attending graduate school full time, and have a part time seasonal job. I would be happy to accommodate my schedule to help care for your furry family member! I care for pets by integrating my clinical psychology and comparative psychology knowledge. I tailor my experience to the needs of the pet and their owner!
About: I’ve been caring for animals for years and truly treat every pet like my own. Friends, family, and neighbors have relied on me to check in, feed, walk, and spend time with their pets while they’re at work or away on vacation. I’m a mom of two who works from home, which allows me to have a flexible and reliable schedule. I’m available for pet care between 8:00am–2:30pm and again from 4:00pm–8:00pm most days. Because I’m home based, I’m able to consistently show up on time, provide dependable care, and give your pets the attention they need during the day while you’re at work or away. I understand how important it is to trust someone in your home and with your pets. I always treat any pet with respect, care, and attention to detail. I follow all instructions closely, keep doors secured, and make sure your pet stays safe and comfortable at all times. I’m very attentive to each pet’s behavior and needs, whether that means giving them space or extra attention. I also provide updates so you can feel confident and at ease while you’re away. My goal is to make sure your pet feels safe, loved, and well cared for just like they would with you 🫶🏻
“We booked Jason for house sitting with our dog who has separation anxiety and does not do well in a boarding environment. Jason is great with our dog! Jason came into our house and our dog immediately migrated to him. Jason provided ample walks and gave our dog personalized attention. His wife Emily is also a dog sitter on this site and she has watched our dog too! She is also amazing! We will only be using their services for our dog! We love the husband and wife team!”

“We had Kya over our house to watch our cat, Juniper, for 5 days and she did an amazing job and was with her 24/7 which I appreciated. Our Juniper is very shy, but thanks to Kya’s kindness and patience, she warmed up. As promised, she sent daily updates and photos and even took the trash out for us while we were gone. Kya even went above and beyond to ensure the house was immaculate and to wash the bed sheets for the guest room she stayed in, which was so kind of her! If you’re looking for a caring sitter, don’t hesitate to reach out to her. She’s definitely a gem!”

“Darla was very coccineous, thorough, diligent, and clearly loved our Ruby. We were very happy with her and will indeed use her again if she is available. She is a credit to your organization.”

“Jack took care of our puppy, while we were out of town overnight. His communication was very articulated and he was very prompt when arriving He was kind, thoughtful and very responsible. He updated us with pictures of our puppy during his stay. When we arrived home all was good. He even wash her doggy bowls. And during one of our communications, he was thoughtful to ask if I wanted him to make the bed, or strip the sheets in the bedroom he was staying in. I hired Jack in a heartbeat again.”

I promise to care for them with respect, dignity, & compassion. If you would like your dog to have some extra social time with Mochi, he is always available for playing, chasing and sniffing. My goal with your pet is to help them learn to trust you more and give them a positive role model to follow.
“Ashlee was wonderful with my senior pup who needed a LOT of extra care. She ensured that I, the worried mom, got tons of photos and updates throughout my time away. She really put me at ease and handled the many needs of my older sick pup with great care, kindness, and professionalism. She stayed at my home with my pup and left the house in great shape. We will certainly be asking her to watch our dog again in the future.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Twin Lakes
Amazing! First time we used this service and were nervous. Alexandra came to the house so I could go over everything. She was all about doing "whatever made the pups comfortable". They loved her and didn't look stressed at all. She sent pics every day and our house was left better than when she arrived! Would use her again in a heartbeat next time we go away!!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Twin Lakes walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Twin Lakes maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Twin Lakes choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Twin Lakes. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 92% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
