This was our first time having to leave Buddy for a long period of time. James gave us peace of mind by sending photos and giving us updates on our baby everyday we were apart. BUDDY Loves to stay with James. He gets to play and run around, also lots of attention. We are very happy and pleased with the love and attention given to our baby.

Kaitlyn was fabulous! She sent multiple pictures daily with notes on the various activities with our dog, Abby. The stay was 8 days and we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing Abby was having a great time! We will be returning to Kaitlyn to care for Abby in the future!!

Emily and her husband did a great job. We take our lab with us almost all the time so it wasn't easy to leave her somewhere for multiple days. Emily was great with accommodating a pre-stay meeting, always really good with communication and coordination, kept us regularly updated and assured that Parker was comfortable, happy, getting plenty of attention and activity, etc.. She was flexible with our pick up and always positive. We would definitely recommend and would definitely have Parker stay again.

Autumn was awesome with our puppy chase. She kept us updated with pictures, what he ate and if he went potty. He came home totally happy and tired. Will use her again when we come up to North Carolina. ♥️

Lacie is amazing! Our 2 year old Cockapoo Otis has been going to her house for the past 3+ months for both day care and overnight visits. Lacie is kind and very intuitive with animals. She provided Otis with a wonderful home environment while we were away. He absolutely loves playing with her son and her own friendly pets. Thank you Lacie for all the wonderful care you gave our pup!

About: I have taken care of dogs my whole life. I am a trustworthy retired RN who is looking to spoil your dogs while you are away. I am a non-smoker and very active with walking/hikes and pickleball. I am retired now for 5 years and spend my day actively with hike/bikes/pickleball to name a few activities. I am available most days with proper notice. I do not have a fenced yard but do have a 7-year-old dog named Dori who gets her exercise walking daily. If you pup likes fenced in yards caring for your dog would be better at your home.

Caitlin was an amazing sitter for my little Bean. It was my first time having a sitter for my dog. By day two of day care, Bean was as excited to see her as she was to come home at the end of the day. She sent pics and gave me peace of mind. I’m so grateful I found her.

Sharon is a loving and considerate companion that kept our elderly dog Kuma happy and healthy while we were away. Her wonderful attention to his daily needs was outstanding. Kuma enjoyed every minute of the warm and loving care Sharon gave to him everyday. The pictures and videos showed how he loved Sharon and how happy he was. Sharon would be an excellent pet sitter for your pets and we would highly recommend her services.

Pamela is an excellent dog sitter. We trusted her to take care of our nervous and energetic adolescent pup for 2 weeks while we were traveling out of the country. Pamela took excellent care of our dog and kept us well informed. She took him on long walks multiple times a day. She really loves dogs and cares for them like they are her own.

I would definitely leave my pup with Ashley again, in fact, I'm so glad I have someone I can count on to take care of my dog when needed. Asha was a bit reluctant to be in a new space with new people (as she always is), but Ashley went above and beyond to help Asha feel safe and comfortable. Thank you, Ashley!

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Tuckasegee home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Tuckasegee.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Tuckasegee sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
