“Victoria was fantastic with my pup! I was very impressed by her professionalism, and could tell my dog had a great time with her. She was timely and very attentive to my dog’s schedule and needs. Definitely recommend!”

“We’ve had the pleasure to have Hannah look after our pack of dogs several times. The dogs love her and are always happy to see her. She stays at the house and is always conscientious and caring. In fact, she is caring for our 3 dogs this weekend too!”
“Ann was great! My pups seemed to take to her right away, and they didn't seem stressed when we got home from our trip. She was also an excellent housesitter. My home was neat and tidy when I returned. She even checked my mail and set out and brought in the bins for waste collection. I appreciated the daily updates and pictures she sent for the dogs. She also kept me informed of situations regarding weather and visits from the neighbors. Ann is friendly, professional, flexible, and witty. Knowing that my dogs and home were well-cared for made my eventful trip much less stressful.”

About: I have been watching friends and families pets for as long as I can remember. I started dog-sitting as soon as I turned 16 and was able to spend the night in people's homes. I will make sure your pets get all the love and attention they desire and more. I have watched over a few senior pups, administering medication and helping them up and down stairs. I don't have any certifications in senior dog care, just experience. When you leave your pets in my hands, I can guarantee they will be loved as if they were my own! I am currently working part-time as well as an online student. This means I have a ton of time to play with your pups. I spend a lot of time walking and always appreciate a companion by my side. I am comfortable crating your dog if needed. I will make sure they get all the exercise they need throughout the day as well meeting their meal times with accuracy.
“Kaelyn is a thoughtful, conscientious house/pet sitter. She met all of our needs, and adjusted well when ouir plans shifted. Good communicator. I would not hesitate to call upon her again.”

About: I’ve grown up with animals of all kinds in my home. While I currently only have a cat, I’ve been the owner of several dogs, a couple snakes, a bearded dragon and I’m not afraid of really any type of animal. I have a pretty open schedule, single mom to a couple of boys and pet mom to one sweet cat. I love snuggling any animal. So I live in an apartment but very frequently go out to trails and parks with my kids, I would have no problem including your pet!
About: ❗️Prices change upon contact, DM for more details❗️ I’ve grown up with dogs around me since I was little, from their puppy stages to their more senior years. I’ve taken care of different family’s pets for a few years now and they’ve loved the care I provided. With my own pets I am experienced with their walks, grooming and minor training with my latest dog, and of course feeding them (along with some supplements as needed). Currently I have a very open schedule as I am in college and my classes are in the later morning, so I have time to care throughout the week. I occasionally work weekends, sometimes a few nights during the week (usually 4-5 hours) otherwise I have an open schedule! I would prefer Venmo for payment if possible with you, if not totally no worries! Through my pet experience I will often play with the animals if they desire and need some energy out, or taking them on walks. In my own home I take the dogs to the backyard throwing a toy around or running with the dogs. My dogs have a strict schedule so we always feed them on time, one of them getting his pills and the other will have difficult time eating so I’ve found that ways that help him eat throughout the morning before I have to leave. Frequent bathroom breaks are needed of course, and I love being around the dogs so I usually hang out in their favorite spots with them while doing my own thing if everyone is just relaxing.
About: What sets me apart is my background working in a veterinary hospital, which gives me hands-on experience recognizing health concerns, administering medications, and caring for animals with different needs. I’m comfortable with puppies, senior pets, and animals that may need extra patience or medical attention. I pay close attention to behavior and body language to make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I treat every pet like my own and always keep owners updated with messages and photos. Pet care is already a big part of my daily routine. I have experience working in a veterinary hospital and caring for my own dogs, so feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and monitoring pets’ health are second nature to me. I am very active and enjoy being outside, so I love incorporating walks, exercise, and quality time with pets into my day. I make sure every animal in my care gets plenty of attention, structure, and consistency. I prioritize creating a safe, calm, and loving environment for every pet in my care. With my experience working in a veterinary hospital, I am very comfortable recognizing signs of stress or illness and ensuring pets stay healthy and happy. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, medications if needed, exercise, and plenty of attention. I always make sure pets are supervised, comfortable, and feel secure whether I’m caring for them in my home or in their own home.
About: I have been around animals since I was born, and wanted to be a veterinarian ever since I was three! I now attend WSU and am in my first year of veterinary school! I have worked with several different types of animals, ranging from mice and rats to horses. I currently have 3 of my own cats and two foster mice through a rescue in Pullman! I have a dog back at home in Tacoma too. If you need simple drop ins, pet sitting, or dog walks, I am here for you! I usually have classes from 1-5 PM, then work for a couple hours after that. I can usually stop by on weekends, late nights, or mornings/ early afternoons to take care of your pet! I will regularly check on the well-being of the animal. Not only will your pet be fed and taken out regularly, but any mess that we might make will be cleaned up better than we found it!

About: I provide reliable, compassionate care for cats and dogs of all ages, including kittens, puppies, and seniors. I’m comfortable with daily routines like feeding, walks, litter care, playtime, administering medications, and providing intermediate-level dog training, including basic obedience reinforcement and good-manner skills. I also have hands-on experience caring for reptiles and fish, including maintaining proper habitat conditions, temperature and humidity control, lighting schedules, and water quality. I follow care instructions closely and treat every pet with patience and respect. Pet care fits well into my routine, and my flexible availability allows me to give pets the time and attention they deserve. This flexibility lets me maintain reliable schedules, spend quality time with each pet, and adapt to their individual needs. I care for each pet according to their individual home environment and established routine. I follow all care instructions closely and make sure pets remain comfortable in their own space, whether that means maintaining familiar feeding schedules, enrichment, habitat conditions, or household rules. I focus on minimizing stress by respecting what each pet is used to, providing attentive, consistent care that meets their specific needs while they stay in their own home.
About: I've had animals all my life. I'm here to relieve the stress of juggling your job, travel and the love for your companion!🐯🦁 I also have farm animal experience. About: Currently I’m a vet student at WSU! I’ve just wrapped up my first year of vet school. My ultimate goal is to go into large animal medicine. I have lived with cats my entire life and have worked with dogs throughout high school and into college. I am currently fitting in part time animal care into my daily routine. It is something I enjoy doing and is an activity I enjoy making time for. In a clients home I would be ready and willing to feed pets and let pets outside. I would also be willing to play with pets and take them on walks.
About: I have a BIG heart for animals of all kinds 💓 Over the years, I have taken care of others’ cats, dogs, horses, cows, chickens, & even bearded dragons and spiders! I have given medication to dogs, cats, and horses if that is needed or any other special care instructions. Currently have 1 repeat client that I dog and house sit for regularly but am looking for more!! I am currently unemployed and searching for remote work. I’m from Lewiston, ID but have lived in Boise, ID and Washington, DC. I can do any pet care at any time unless I’m serving another client - message me with any questions and I’ll be as flexible as possible! I will follow whatever routine and instructions you give me for the best care possible when you’re away. I treat all animals as if they’re family!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Troy on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of June 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Troy walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Troy maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Troy choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Troy. On Rover:
- 82% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
