“I had Tina stay at our house for a week while we went away for the holidays to take care of our geriatric kitty - Sushi. This is the first time that we used Rover and obviously I did have hesitation with someone that I did not know staying at our house without a "trial" run! However, Tina was amazing in taking care of Sushi, sending pictures and keeping me updated. She was very responsive when I reached out with questions or thoughts! Our home was clean upon our arrival last night and most importantly, Sushi was very well taken care of! I would highly recommend Tina to take care of your animals!!! Beth M.”

“Mary stayed at our house for 10 days to take care of our dog while we were on vacation. It was nice to get some photos and videos and we felt he was taken care off. She left the house organized and we liked the communication from Mary. We will definitely ask her again if need be!”

“Jessica watched our 2 dogs while we were out of town! I loved that she sent pics and updates everyday and kept us in the loop. She was also great at troubleshooting to fix a stubborn stuck door in our house (where the dog food was).”

“Krista did a great job dog/house sitting for me while I was out of town. Super responsive and sent daily pictures. Even did a few extra things for me that came up unexpectedly. My dog was happy and her normal self when we returned. Would 100% book with her again!”

“Rebecca is great! She is very responsive and great at communicating! My puppy loves her! She made me and my son feel comfortable right away to house sit with our baby. She sent plenty of pictures of the fun they had. My son says 6 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Tiana was amazing with our dog and the house was well cared for while gone for an extended period of time. She provided regular updates with pictures that were much appreciated when we started to miss our baby girl.”

“Audrey is the best! We have 2 dogs and one has anxiety so she doesn’t do well in the kennel. Audrey was able to ‘win her over’ and keep her calm and relaxed which is no easy task. We already booked another weekend with Audrey?”

“Shatoria was a joy to have in our home, so much so that our dogs did not even care when we came back after nearly two weeks away, and ran right upstairs to her room to look for her. Excellent communication and attention to detail, and I am almost certain our home was cleaner when she left than when she arrived. Easily the best pet care experience we’ve had. Booking again ASAP.”

“Samantha was phenomenal! She provided great communication and provided good updates with my dog. She took amazing care of him. I had her housesitting for me and she was extremely respectful of my apartment as well. I would absolutely have Samantha help me out again!”

“Kirsten was AWESOME! She did a fantastic job! Our Maizey loved her and was so comfortable with her. Plus she was very communicative so we felt we could talk to her at any time. She was also great about sending us info every day, sometimes multiple times/day, as well as great photos and videos. I would highly recommend her!”

“Renee was wonderful with our 2 puppies. One even had an accident and she called us to find out what she should do. We have a shampooer. She asked how to use it and actually shampooed their floor for us. She treated our puppies so good. Playing outside and walking. I would hire her again.”

“Cassandra was awesome - took great care of both my dog and cat, and the highest compliment I can give her is that she is incredibly kind, and normal (lol) which is exactly what you want in a pet/house sitter! Will definitely use again :)”
“Tonisha has taken care of our pups before for drop in visits and walks. This service was for overnight and as usual, she did an outstanding job! My pups love her so we know they are always well cared for:)”

“Louisa was excellent! She was so thorough in our meet and greet making sure she was aware of any and all needs Ollie might have. Ollie loved her right away which made me feel very comfortable. Louisa was great at communicating and sent pictures during the sit which I appreciated. Highly recommend her and will certainly have her care for Ollie in the future!”

“Jennifer was fantastic with Ollie! He loved her right away and I felt very comfortable having her care for him. She gave me updates and sent pics throughout the stay which I greatly appreciated. Excellent first sir and would certainly have her sit again!”

About: I have had all sorts of animals my whole life and worked at a vet clinic for a year! My very first animal was a Pygmy goat! I currently have a pug and chihuahua/jack Russel! I have worked with all ages, can teach tricks with puppies, or cuddle all day with the seniors. We have a fenced area in the backyard with a doggy door, so fur babies can go out whenever! We also have a crate and take daily walks! I have a fenced yard with a doggy door that is very secure. I also have a dog cam set up if we ever step out! There is always myself or my bf home, and my two fur babies are friendly and (lazy), they have been around dogs and cats their whole life! We have a crate if that’s needed!
“I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Elizabeth. She was so diligent about following Gus's routine, so great about keeping us updated on how things were going, and above all SO kind and understanding of our pups needs as a spicy/reactive dog. She left me completely at ease and able to relax on our trip. I am so glad we've found her and that our baby has someone he will not just be comfortable with, but excited to spend time with while we are gone!”

Pam was, as always, absolutely perfect with our pup. She is so patient with his quirks, takes him on frequent, long walks, and is super communicative. She even left the TV on to soothe him after heading out 🥹 Pam went above and beyond and went back to let Ted out hours after the original booking ended because our flight was delayed. She is the reason we are able to travel with peace of mind!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Token Creek walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Token Creek maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Token Creek choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
