“Jorie was exceptional! Truly amazing! We don’t often have to have someone other than family hang with our dog, but we would absolutely use her again and recommend her to anyone!”

“Allison was great! It was my first experience using Rover and I dont think it could've gone any better. One of my cats is shy, the other likes to fight strangers but they both quickly warmed up to her. She sent me fantastic photos after each visit which warmed up my heart and calmed my anxiety about my babies when I was away. I knew they were getting well-taken care of. I came back to them looking healthy and happy as ever! 10/10 Would book again.”

“Rylee is very kind with animals and does a great job spending time with your pets. She took care of our three cats and all went well. We have one antisocial cat and we chose her because of annother review suggesting she was good so we tried her out. Our cat did warm up to her a bit which was great. She sends pictures and communicates daily.”

About: I first began caring for animals when I lived with my sister & helped care for her toy poodle, taking it on walks or administering a pill when it had a seizure. She later had 3 dogs & 5 cats at one time to care for! Since then, for other people, I have taken care of as many as 5 dogs (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels), 4 birds & 1 cat at a time! I have had 2 cats of my own a total of 7 years. I have walked dogs & cats (even taking them in a stroller together!), given topical flea meds, oral meds, trimmed nails, given baths, combed & brushed them. I love giving them lots of cuddles & pets (even taking naps with them!), insuring they have clean bowls daily, fresh water / food 2x daily, & whatever amount of treats the owner thinks is good. ;-) I make sure dogs get an adequate number of potty breaks daily to avoid mishaps & to ensure s/he is not uncomfortable from a full bladder. I scoop cat boxes 1x/daily (if non-clumping litter is used) or 2x/daily (if clumping litter is used) & completely clean out the box & change litter 1x/week. When walking dogs, I make sure the harness / collar & leash are secure & I carry waste bags, vinegar spray to discourage other dogs from attacking us (happens more often than you'd think!) &, of course, my cell phone if something serious were to happen, I could phone someone quickly. In a nutshell, I want to be sure that the animals in my care are happy, healthy & safe!! :-) I am currently retired and so my schedule is completely open. I am open to a recurring booking, such as every day or every week. I make sure food is fresh (within the last couple days) & not "crusty" (use a lid) & has no bugs in it. Water should also be clear & have nothing "foreign" in it. At the client's home, I make sure backyard gates are shut before taking dogs out for a potty break. If client permits, I also take that time to "scoop" the yard of previous "droppings" to provide a cleaner place for the dogs & their owners. :-) If taking dogs for a walk, I make sure I have safety gear & my cell phone handy & that their leash/collar/harness is secure. I watch to make sure they don't eat something they're not supposed to. If taking a cat(s) for a walk in a stroller, I make sure it's securely fastened & that the cat(s) would not be able to get out of the stroller. I try to make sure dogs / cats in my care don't play rough with each other or get into a fight. I make sure cats don't climb into places which are unsafe or which would knock over fragile items.
“Joanna was fantastic, I felt so comfortable on my trip knowing she was taking care of things back home. She gave my girl her meds every day, and got her outside and moving!”

“I am grateful Brittney was available to catsit for my two girls while I was away. My cats are always emotionally secure when I return as a result of Brittney taking good care of them and spending time interacting with them. We were very far from home on this trip, having someone who is reliable, trustworthy and the cats like gave me a lot of peace of mind. Booking was easy and communication went well. Love getting those pics when I am far away! Thanks again, Brittney! 😻⭐️😻⭐️🙏🏻”

“Tori made sure our dog got plenty of attention and playtime even with the rain, which really showed how much she cared about making sure he was happy and well cared for. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. We truly appreciated her reliability, kindness, and the extra effort she put in. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet like family!”

“Maddie was a wonderful dog sitter for us! She was able to accept our booking last-minute when our usual sitter wasn't available for a trip. Our dog immediately liked her and I could tell he didn't miss us when we were gone! She was very thoughtful with our 2 cats too even though we only booked her for the dog, and very respectful of our home as well. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with Madeline- definitely worth booking for your pet!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Isaac! He watched our three dogs—Cadance, Roman, and Roxi—and took excellent care of all of them. Cadance can be quite the handful (she’s our spoiled little diva), but Isaac was incredibly patient, kind, and professional the entire time. He dropped in twice a day to let them out and made sure they were fed breakfast and dinner. We also really appreciated the daily pictures he sent—it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear he truly loves animals and knows how to handle different personalities. We felt completely at ease knowing our pups were in such great hands. Highly recommend Isaac to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter!”

“Elizabeth was excellent with our senior dog! Our dog was very comfortable and well taken care of. She checked in with us and let us know how he was doing. Highly recommend her!”

“Great! This was our first experience with Rover; also we were visiting from out of town. We made arrangements to meet Heather prior to the drop-in visit. Everything went as scheduled; Heather came to our hotel on-time and did the drop-in visit at the time planned (she took and texted photos of our baby outside and her eating dinner). Heather was very easy to work with and I highly recommend her and if we return to the area will book her again with complete confidence.”

“Amazing sitter and super kind to all 4 of my cats. Went above and beyond the agreed tasks. Great communicator and really cares about the animals, Highly recommend for any pet sitting a person needs.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Thixton. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
