About: I've cared for dogs for 27 years, and cats for 18. I am detail oriented and reliable. I follow any instructions pet parents have and pay very close attention while providing care. I can provide care and attention for your baby when needed, outside my full-time job. I can feed, pet, exercise, and snuggle them. Or, just leave them be, if they want. I will follow any instructions you have to a "t". I am very detail oriented and I pay very close attention when I provide care.
“I’m so glad I found Jorie to help take care of our baby Willow while we were away. She always arrived promptly on time, gave our pup the very best love and attention, offered to take her to the park for us, and sent us lots of pictures with a detailed description of their day together. It put us at ease knowing our girl was in good hands. Can’t say enough good things. You will not regret booking with her! We will absolutely be using her again in the future :)”
“Allison has watched our cats twice now while we are out of town and has been wonderful each time. She keeps everything tidy, makes sure they’re fed and have fresh water, and always sends updates and photos after each visit. It’s such a comfort knowing our cats are in good hands while we’re away!”

“Very good with my dogs. She completed visits at my home for my dogs x 6 days. Home was secure and everything in place when I arrived home. Dogs were happy to see me but told me they liked her! :)”

About: I grew up in an animal-friendly household among big dogs, small dogs, cats, hamsters, fish, lizards, ferrets, you name it! I have experience with animals of all ages, abilities, and temperaments and strive to do what I can to keep them happy and comfortable! I am a full time college student pursuing music, so I will have the occasional concert that makes me unavailable, but I often have the weekend free or evenings/nights/early mornings. I definitely strive to leave everything in a client’s home just as I left it, besides a happy and/or well-fed dog, cat, or other furry or scaly creature. As long as I know where to locate the food, bowls, leash/harness, and/or backyard I’m good!
“Maddie was a wonderful dog sitter for us! She was able to accept our booking last-minute when our usual sitter wasn't available for a trip. Our dog immediately liked her and I could tell he didn't miss us when we were gone! She was very thoughtful with our 2 cats too even though we only booked her for the dog, and very respectful of our home as well. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with Madeline- definitely worth booking for your pet!”

“Couldn’t have asked for better! She was reliable, communicated great, and was very thoughtful and thorough. She handled everything we asked of, and more. She truly went above and beyond and we are so grateful for the peace of mind she brought us while we were on vacation and worried about our cats :)”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for well over 4 years and have had the pleasure of watching some of the sweetest pups. I’ve dealt with dogs on a schedule, some who require medication and those who need some extra snuggles. I will take the time to learn the care your pet deserves. I work a full time job during the weeks but will ensure all pets are taken out before I leave and return as soon as possible to allow them to be taken out again, I spend my afternoons with the dogs and try to provide enrichment play so they don’t get bored. I’m available all day on weekends so the same things goes. I normally stay with at a clients home to ensure dogs have minimal stress dealing with new environments. I follow any schedule my client has given me, from early morning walks at a dog park or allowing them to roam their fenced in yard while I prepare any food or water that is left while I’m away. I enjoy playing with them in the afternoons and getting them tired and rewarding them with treats when necessary.

“Tori made sure our dog got plenty of attention and playtime even with the rain, which really showed how much she cared about making sure he was happy and well cared for. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such caring hands. We truly appreciated her reliability, kindness, and the extra effort she put in. We would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pet like family!”

About: Your dog will get the attention and love you provide even while you are away with lots of cuddles, potty breaks, walks and playtime. Our family dogs are members of our family and while yours is here- they will be too! Feel confident your pup is being cared for, played with, and loved on while you are away. I currently have one resident cat (figaro) and 2 small dogs (Ozzie and Hopper both Boston Terriers). Both are friendly towards both cats and dogs and love to play. Also have 2 older teenagers in the home that will play and give visiting puppies and dogs extra attention and affection. I can provide any schedule that your dog is used to already. I have two friendly dogs to keep your up company. Dogs can be crated at night or sleep with us in our bed whatever you prefer.
“Rebekah was AWESOME. She sent pictures every time she visited my pup and went above and beyond when she was there (even took out my trash one time). She was very accommodating and thoughtful! Highly recommended!!”

“We had a wonderful experience with Isaac! He watched our three dogs—Cadance, Roman, and Roxi—and took excellent care of all of them. Cadance can be quite the handful (she’s our spoiled little diva), but Isaac was incredibly patient, kind, and professional the entire time. He dropped in twice a day to let them out and made sure they were fed breakfast and dinner. We also really appreciated the daily pictures he sent—it gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. It’s clear he truly loves animals and knows how to handle different personalities. We felt completely at ease knowing our pups were in such great hands. Highly recommend Isaac to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring sitter!”

“Amber was once again amazing with my kitties. I came back to happy healthy well-fed kitties, and she made sure to keep me updated with pics and little blurbs about how the visits went. She also went above and beyond as always. 10/10 would book again.”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Thixton. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
