About: I have always loved dogs, my parents said I couldn't get a dog until I could prove that I could take care of them so I did just that. Since then I have always had dogs. I love them all, I especially love the giant friendly ones. I am great with all different types of temperaments (the shy ones, nervous ones, and wild ones). I have 2 large breed dogs and 1 little dog. One of them is none other then the crazy Belgian Malinois. I always love to get my dogs as puppies and with that comes all the fun of training. I have trained my dogs fetching, walking on a leash, potty training, bite sleeve training. I also have cared for senior dogs as well as puppies. I am currently at home full time, so I can have plenty of time to watch your pups and play with them. Lots of cuddling time. I have a fenced in back yard as well as fenced in court yard where we can play. I have 2 large dogs to keep them company as well. I have an extra room to provide a dog some space if needed. And I have 2 large crates if crating is needed. I do have 2 cats but if your dogs aren't cat friendly my house is set up for my cat side and dog side. So everyone can coexist peacefully with no fear.
“Whitney is amazing! She was so accommodating with our last-minute request and took such great care of Tuli. She’s attentive, kind, and truly cares about my pup—we love her! ❤️😊”

“Shanna is great. She has been patient and collaborative in planning for my Roxie's care. We had a meet and greet, then a short daycare stay, then a full day of daycare. She is well versed in dog behavior. My dog, coincidentally a "pitbull type" is often categorized and judged as "vicious or aggressive" even before people meet her. I've had dog sitters on Rover decline to provide services simply because of her breed or her appearance. Shanna understands that Roxie is a dog: a dog with her own level of prey drive (so Roxie is not allowed in her daughter's room cause of the hamster she has); a dog with some anxiety who barked at her husband when he came into the house. They didn't freak out. Shanna understood Roxie's behavior and worked through it, allowing Roxie to get to know her husband, settle and move on. I truly appreciate her family's openness and acceptance. We have two more full days of daycare booked and if all continues well, we will book boarding services. Roxie is people and dog friendly, but the discrimination we have experienced on Rover, leads me to take things in a new daycare/boarding situation slowly. Shanna has been very reassuring and understanding. throughout the process. I HIGHLY recommend her.”

“Lofi had such a great time at Renee’s. She was very accommodating and makes the dogs feel right at home. This is the most exhausted I’ve seen my golden doodle since I’ve had him so that’s good! 😅”

“Jasper has always been a bit of a timid, shy guy and I knew he needed some socialization with other dogs but I also knew he would be overwhelmed in a large day care with a ton of other dogs, so when I found out Jill offered day care and kept it to just 5-6 dogs at a time, I knew it was worth a try! I’m so happy I was right in my feelings! Jasper came right up to me but was not nervous or unhappy. He made many new friends including Liz and the little dogs that were there too. He was so happy and loved exploring the back yard! He will become a weekly regular!”

“We booked Akie for a day stay. She was great with Millie! Took and shared a lot of pictures. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you Akie for loving Millie while she was with you!”

“Julie did a stellar job spending the day with our oversized toddler, Jethro. He can be stubborn, so it takes a special kind of person to connect with him- Julie was that person today. We will definitely book with her again in the future!”

About: I am a Fear Free certified veterinary technician of 13 years who grew up in the show dog world (AKC) before getting into rescue as an adult. Throughout my long-lived animal career I have participated in puppy/kitten/basic obedience training, behavioral rehabilitation, dog sport training, senior care, care for animals with extreme medical needs, and owned/operated a group play doggie daycare. My jobs, hobbies, and passions are all centered around animals and I can't wait to bring that passion to you! I am home full-time, and available for puppies and animals with heavy needs. I have a fairly set schedule for all of the pets in my care, and that level of routine provides comfort to even the most nervous of pups. I am the only Fear Free pet carer in Bakersfield! I provide comforting classical music as well as calming pheromones in the sleeping spaces to make their stay as stress-free as possible. I have a fenced yard and never leave dogs together unsupervised. I do not provide an environment suitable for animals with a history of dog aggression. Small dogs I can be more flexible with, as their attitude usually comes from a place of fear and that is something I can work with for the little guys.
“It was my first time ever using Rover. I was a bit skeptical but Jess took care of me and Beau. Answered all my questions and concerns prior to meet up. Jess was flexible with our time and date. When I dropped Beau off I had forgotten a water bowl and Jess had extra supplies for all my pups needs. During beaus time with Jess I got as many updates as requested and there was very clear communication and a timely response which help kill off the anxiety of leaving my pup! When I came for pick up Beau was so happy go lucky! Definitely huge shout out to Jess for taking care of my pup and keeping him company and happy!”

“I felt completely comfortable leaving my senior dog with Maribel. I could tell he was safe, cared for, and getting the extra attention he needs. She was so patient and attentive with his little quirks, which meant a lot to me. Her home is secure and super dog-friendly, and I really appreciated that she only takes one dog at a time since he’s not great with other dogs. I’ll definitely be booking with her again!”

About: Hi! I’m new to Rover, but I’ve been caring for my best friend’s large dogs for years while she’s away on business trips sometimes for up to two weeks at a time. I absolutely love being around dogs and enjoy every part of their care, from feeding and walking to cozy snuggles on the couch. After years of caring for dogs, I decided to join Rover as a side passion. I live in a dog-friendly apartment complex with two on-site dog parks, which are perfect for playtime and exercise. I take dogs out for walks 3 to 4 times a day and always make sure to clean up after them — we have convenient poop bag stations throughout the community. While I don’t have dogs of my own right now, I treat every pup like family. I welcome overnight bookings, and your dog is more than welcome to relax on the couch. There are no restrictions here when it comes to comfort and cuddles. I’m excited to meet your furry friend and give them all the love and attention they deserve! As a full-time stay-at-home mom of three boys, I’m home most of the day and able to provide consistent care and attention to your dog. I typically take dogs out 3–4 times a day and can easily adjust walks or potty breaks to fit your pup’s needs. Whether it’s weekdays, weekends or extended stays, I’m flexible and reliable. Your dog will be in a safe, attentive, and family-friendly environment while you’re away. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I create a calm, supervised environment where dogs can feel at home. Because I’m home throughout the day, I’m able to keep a close eye on your pup and give them plenty of attention, bathroom breaks, and playtime. My apartment is pet-friendly with secure areas for walking and play. We have two on-site dog parks and designated pet waste stations, which makes daily outings clean and convenient. Inside, dogs are welcome on the couch and are never confined unless requested by the owner. I’m experienced with large breeds and understand how to manage dogs with different energy levels and personalities. I also keep communication open with pet parents, sending updates and photos to give you peace of mind while you’re away. You can trust that your dog will be treated like family in a safe, clean, and loving environment.

The Oaks dog parents share their Rover experiences
This was our first time using Rover, and thanks to Akie, it was a truly fantastic experience. We were in a pinch—looking for a last-minute solution to board our 5-month-old puppy Ringo for just a few hours. After struggling to find anything that felt right, we turned to Rover with some hesitation. The idea of leaving our puppy with a stranger was nerve-wracking. But when we came across Akie‘a profile and read her glowing reviews, we felt a sense of reassurance. We sent a request and were pleasantly surprised by her prompt and enthusiastic reply. When we arrived, Akie greeted Ringo with genuine warmth, and he immediately took to her—tail wagging, full of excitement. It was amazing to see how comfortable he was from the moment they met, and it immediately put our minds at ease. As Akie led him inside, Ringo happily trotted along without even looking back, as if he knew he was in great hands—and he was. During his stay, Akie sent us photos and updates, letting us know that Ringo got along well with her own dogs and behaved wonderfully. Akie‘s friendly, easygoing nature made all the difference, and it’s clear that Ringo had a great time. The Rover app also made communication simple and seamless, which was a huge plus. We’re so grateful to Akie for stepping in on short notice and giving Ringo such a joyful experience. She made our first Rover booking a total success! We would not hesitate contacting Akie again when the need arises!

Jess was an amazing pet sitter!!! For being a last minute appointment he was amazing. Left Luna with him just for three hours but in those three hours he sent me updates with pictures. When at time for pick up Jess knew we were driving for three hours he gave Luna an extra water for the road. Will definitely be using him again.
