“Anmol and Trupti are such lovely caring people. Their home is set up so the dogs are safe and well taken care of. Maddie is an older dog who doesn’t do sleepovers very often and she did great with them. We were always in touch with photos, videos and texts. Maddie came home happy and tired. We will Definately be using them again for Maddie’s and our peace of mind”

“Our pup is happy while at Meaghan's and even does a few things that she doesn't do with anyone else (like get up the couch and cuddle). Meaghan is accommodating of our weird diet for Asha, and always sharing status updates. Can't ask for more!”

“Max and his family took amazing care of our Kea! They sent regular updates and treated her as one of their own. Would highly recommend Max to anyone in need of a dog sitter.”

“Monika is an exceptional sitter. We did a meet and greet prior to having her board my dog for a few days and it became obvious very quickly that she has a nack for interpreting each dog's different cues and identifying their needs, in addition to having a strong understanding of how different dogs interact with one another. She was especially comfortable with bigger, stronger dogs and she made me feel confident that my pup was in good hands. She sent updates frequently and always maintained an open line of communication; plus, she was very flexible with pick up and drop off times. Overall I would highly recommend Monika to anyone looking for a competent and responsible dog sitter.”

“Was worried since this was a first time visiting this house with Milo and Maui but they looked so comfortable! I was so happy to see my cats and Lenny was so sweet and caring. Both my cats were able to have seperate rooms which was also so great.”

“We left our two pups with Brian for 5 days and he was very caring, thoughtful, and paid close attention to their needs. He noticed my little guy wasn’t being quite himself on day 3 and took the time to call me and discuss what was going on with him which I greatly appreciated. Our oldest one didn’t want to leave and became best buds with Brian. You can tell Brian truly cares about all of the dogs he watches and we will be using him again in the future!”

“Kirbie has been with Yvette numerous times. We changed our trip to coincide with Yvette’s schedule. We never worry when she is with her. She is one on a million!”

“As always, Whitney and Michael took the best care of our two doggies! The dogs are comfortable with them, and they keep us updated along the way. Their kids also do great with the dogs, and their own doggies get along well with ours. We will continue to use Whitney and Michael for future stays. Don’t hesitate to try them out!”

“Dhara and her family were friendly and caring hosts for our little man Mr. Darcy. That includes their pooch “Coco” who was playful and not territorial with a visiting doggie scampering around the house. Dhara sent plenty of updates and photos during Mr. Darcy’s visit as of an upcoming longer stay. The stay could not have gone better, and we’re very confident and comfortable leaving Mr. Darcy in the caring hands Dhara and her family going forward. Its clear that they’re “dog people” who care.”

About: My home was set up for an 80lb dog with a fenced in yard and areas around the house. Should be very comfortable for any dog. I’m very attentive to the pets, making sure their needs are met and that they are safe and sound. When I take on a job, my schedule is pretty cleared out for it since I’m a retired person. I can schedule my time around the care of your pet. I care for pets in my home by keeping an eye on them. Taking them out into the fenced yard and walking them twice a day. If they like to play fetch or tug I’ll do that with them too. I keep them fed, watered, exercised and rested.

“Pam was absolutely amazing! Our eve was so happy to be there and didn’t want to leave! Definitely will use again! Sent pictures and updates and gave us peace of mind when we were away!”

“William was a great sitter! Our doggie is quite nervous and he made her feel at home and even had a dog bed next to his since she was too scared to stay on his. We appreciated his frequent updates as well, with photos!”

About: I provide structured, attentive dog care in a calm home environment where dogs feel safe, understood, and well-managed. Because I work from home, your dog will have consistent supervision throughout the day. I focus on reinforcing calm behavior and clear boundaries so dogs can settle quickly — especially when they’re in a new space away from their guardians. I grew up with a cocker spaniel my family rescued from an abusive home, which taught me early on the importance of patience and understanding a dog’s emotional state. As an adult, I cared for an active young pit bull for two years, which deepened my experience working with different temperaments and energy levels. I’m now a proud dog mom to a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Lucky, who is well-socialized, gentle, and respectful of other dogs’ space. He helps create a calm, balanced environment for visiting dogs. Our day typically starts between 7–8am with outdoor time in the backyard, followed by breakfast and a relaxed start to the day. Because I work from home, dogs are never left alone for long periods and can settle into a steady, predictable routine. I live in a quiet, low-traffic area in a ranch-style home with very few stairs — ideal for dogs of all ages, including seniors. My home includes a fully fenced half-acre backyard for safe outdoor time and fresh air.

About: Animal care in varying forms is what I do full time. I am available for boarding and sitting both weekdays and weekends, as you need. I have a large, warm home to offer to make your pet feel safe and at home. I can also fit right into your home, smoothly taking care of your pet in their own setting.
“I can’t thank Marsha enough for the love and care she gave to my dog Charlie while I was out of the country. Marsha was able to cheer up sad Charlie into his usual playful self in a very short time. I was kept well informed with daily pictures and videos showing Charlie and Marsha playing and snuggling together. Knowing Charlie was happy and well cared for made my vacation more enjoyable. Thank you!”

“Julianna was great with our dog. She kept was updated and also sent us pictures of our dog. She responded quickly to our message which was nice of her. Will definitely recommend her to others and definitely book her again as well”

“Olga and her family took great care of our puppy Hazel. It was Hazel’s first boarding experience and she had so much fun. Their dog Mocha is friendly too. Olga sent us update, multiple pictures and videos everyday. We will definitely bring Hazel back.”

Sumit took great care of our labradoodle Tycho over the weekend. He was very responsive, kept us updated throughout the stay and our dog liked him. This was the first time we ever had to board him so the professionalism and care kept us at ease. Would happily recommend and book with him in the future!

Neli is great! We cannot recommend her enough! She took good care of our dog Toby and sent us regular updates, videos and photos. She communicated any concerns punctually which gave us peace of mind. Her house is super clean and she has a nice backyard with a small fence which was great for our little dog. Toby came home so happy and relaxed. We will definitely book her again.

An absolutely wonderful sitter!!! Margaret was so sweet and accommodating with mango, sending loads of pictures and videos while we were away!! We missed him a ton so it was great to get updates and see him snuggling and happy :) - we’re looking forward to booking Mango with Margaret again!!!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Tennent home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Tennent.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Tennent sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
