I used to take care of two very active dogs, Spiky and Squirmy, that had fear of other dogs. Their fear was so intense that the owners, our good friends, were unable to walk them at all unless there were two people, each holding one. If they encountered another dog, it was complete meltdown. It was bad. My wife and I took on a challenge to get these two beautiful mixed breed siblings trained and acclimated to other dogs. We did very long walks on secluded trails to get them tired and relaxed. We practiced obedience and self control. We learned to walk with no pulling, almost. With every walk we started to get closer to the dog park and observe other dogs play from the distance. Eventually, we got close to the fence while still staying relaxed. Going inside the enclosure never fully worked out, but walks were no longer a problem at all. All this experience has taught us a lot about dog behavior and their interactions with humans and other animals. We find it fascinating meeting different dogs and their owners and exploring richness or human and dog interactions as well as providing nurturing care to the dogs (and sometimes owners). We have had great experience with hosting dogs using Rover and we always looking forward to our next adventure. Will that be you?

This was Meeka’s first overnight stay, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! From the moment we met, I felt comfortable leaving her with this wonderful family. They truly cared for her like she was one of their own, and it was clear that they genuinely loved having her. We had a great experience with Max and his family taking care of our dog, Abby. They were kind, professional, and clearly love dogs. Abby even had a little pee accident, and they handled it with total understanding, which we really appreciated. We also loved getting photo updates while we were away—it gave us real peace of mind. Abby came home happy and relaxed. Highly recommend!
Ozzy enjoyed his time at Max's house. He spent time outside everyday and went on walks. Max sent pictures, which we enjoyed!

A typical day
Morning walk, breakfast. Spend some time together and interacting. On weekends, daily trip to beach or park is likely, on weekdays rest time during the day and more activity in the evening.
