“Jessica and her family were simply amazing. Such engaging, pleasant, happy people to interact with. Our dogs instantly connected with them when they arrived and they were snuggling with them on the grass when we returned to pick them up. Along the way they had fun, based on the pictures they sent us, hanging out with them and their two dogs. It was exactly what our dogs needed - to be stimulated with new experiences, make new friends, and burn off lots of energy - while their human parents had a day away. It’s very apparent Jessica knows her stuff when it comes to animals. Further, we took great comfort in them having a fully fenced yard so that we knew our dogs wouldn’t accidentally get out. We would not hesitate to use Jessica again or refer her to others.”

“Ashley (and her family) are the best! PJ gets excited to see them whenever we drop him off and doesnt turn around to say goodbye to us - such a goid feeling to but have to worry about him. We trust Ashley implicitly! We are so grateful to have her as PJ's sitter when we are in Rocky Mount. PJ loves Ashley and her family! ❤️”

About: I have been around dogs literally my whole life. I don't remember a time since I was born that I didn't have a dog. From sleeping on our pit bull as a toddler to rescuing a shelter baby to keep me company at college dogs have been an amazing part of my story. Because of these experiences, I have learned many things about not only catering to a variety of personalities, but being creative in entertainment and time management. With these skills and all the added free time I have now that my daughter has started school I can assure you that not only will I be easily accessible for your needs, but I will make sure that you and your pet are sure to have a comfortable and enjoyable time using my services.
About: I am from Colombia and there I had the opportunity to work with him, in a family veterinarian where I learned a lot. Here in the United States I have been taking care of dogs and cats at home several times. It is important, since animals are part of my life and always will be, I also dream of one day having the money to be able to give a good life to several animals that currently live in a shelter. I keep them company, I sing to them, I play with them, I walk them, when they sleep in my house I always make them comfortable and I am aware of all their behavior, especially because I know they miss their owners.

“Madison was extremely helpful with my Maverick. Not only did she accommodate pick up and drop off times, but she was also able to sense Maverick was overwhelmed on the first day, and took the time to get to know him. By the second day, he was much more relaxed with her and Benji, so I know he was in good hands. Would definitely recommend and book again. Thanks, Madison!”

About: Hi, I'm Taz! I'm 25 years old and have over 6 years of experience caring for and watching dogs. I provide dependable, loving care for pets of all ages, from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need extra patience and attention. My experience as an animal rescue volunteer and foster caregiver has taught me how to work with shy, anxious, and special-needs pets, helping them feel safe and comfortable while their families are away. I understand that every pet has their own personality and routine, and I strive to provide personalized care that keeps them happy, healthy, and stress free. Whether it's walks, playtime, feeding, medication, or simply providing companionship, I treat every pet as if they were my own. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I am home throughout the day and have a flexible schedule. This allows me to provide consistent attention, feeding, playtime, litter box maintenance, and companionship for the cats in my care. Being home also means I can closely monitor pets, stick to their regular routines, and give them the extra attention they may need. I enjoy spending time with animals and can provide updates and photos so pet parents can feel confident their cats are safe, comfortable, and well cared for while they're away. When caring for pets in a client's home or mine, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I provide fresh food and water, clean litter boxes, playtime, enrichment, and plenty of affection based on each cat's personality and comfort level. I also monitor their behavior and well-being, provide basic medications if needed, and keep pet parents updated with photos and messages during each visit.

I truly believe pets are an important part of any family, and my love for them is not just a job, but a genuine passion. With 30 years of service at the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, caring for others has always been my calling. That dedication extends to animals, too. I always follow each owner’s rules and routines, keeping your pet’s safety and well-being my top priority.
About: I have always had a pet growing up. I used to have cats when I was little and then eventually turned to dogs. Currently back at home I have three dogs that I love so so so much. Here in Greenville I share custody of a dog, Saint, with my boyfriend. I love to walk so that is no problem for me when it comes to walking dogs. I also worked as an assistant for almost two years where one of my main priorities was taking care of her pitty :) I currently work part time so my availability is pretty open! I spend a lot of my time outside on walks, so it only makes sense that I open the door to including pets on my walk. I do stay in an apartment so I don't have yard space for pets, but I am willing to drive to dog parks or walking trails. I also don't mind going to other peoples home to care for their animals.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats most of my life and enjoy knowing their personalities and spending time with them. Animals are very special! I work part time, so I’d be available to watch your animals, just about any time needed. I try my hardest to work with peoples schedule. Watching your dogs and attending their needs, I’d be bringing my son with me, he is almost a year old. If it is drop-ins I might can get someone to watch him but if it’s overnights he would be coming too. ❤️ Thank you for understanding my needs also. My dog is spoiled so I give him just about anything he wants. As I would do your animals, as well as follow whatever guidelines you may require.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 80 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Tarboro. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Tarboro commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 80 sitters in Tarboro, 83% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
