“Jenny and her husband are the best dog sitters we’ve ever had! One of our pups got a little sick, and he they took every precaution to make sure he was okay. From calling the vet, sending us updates, and sleeping with him at night to make sure he was okay, they treated our dogs just like they were their own. They really put us at ease and we always know that our dogs are in good hands when they go to visit!”

“I just cannot say enough good things about Amy and her care for my pup Beau. Above all else, Amy and Beau really connected, and seeing how comfortable and relaxed he was with her and her family gave me the ability enjoy my trip. Amy sent pictures of Beau enjoying his stay at least once a day. So glad to finally have found my dog person!”
“Cecily was amazing! This was my first time boarding my cats so I was extremely nervous going into this & she made the process as stress-free as possible. My plans changed a few times & each time she was very willing to work with me. My boys both seemed to adjust to their time with her easily. She kept in contact with me throughout the entire time & sent pictures daily. My 1 boy won't eat unless I stay with him as he's afraid his brother will steal his food & she was willing to accommodate their needs. I most likely have another trip coming up this summer & I will absolutely use Cecily again, if our schedules align.”

“John & Nicole take great care of your pet, as if they are family. Highly recommended! Great daily communication, perfectly accommodating in drop off and pick up, and truly caring during the stay!”

“Alison is a wonderful pet sitter! She provided so many pictures and updates- I felt very comfortable leaving my dog with her for an extended trip. She took excellent care of her.”

“Caitlin was great!! She was so sweet and accommodating to our anxious pup and made her feel right at home. You can tell she is a true animal lover. She took genuine care for our dog and gave periodic updates. We are looking forward to using her to dogsit our pup again!”

“This was our dog’s second stay with Carley. Our dog was so excited to see Carley again, which made us feel great. The two of them had a great time together. As before, Carley kept us informed and sent photos while we were away. Our dog had great care while we were away, and we had peace of mind. We highly recommend Carley as a sitter!”
“Ashiera was great with my Thunderbolt, She is prompt in answering questions when i was worried he may not adjust to the new arrangement. She sends pictures when I check up on him. Thunderbolt enjoyed his stay and i would recommend her for any other client looking for a sitter. Her schedule is flexible and willing to commidate to your needs.”

“Amazing sitter. She took such good care of my older dog over the holidays and kept me updated on how he was doing. If I wasn't moving across the country I would definitely book Cindy again.”

“Steven was great with my last-minute sitter request. He sent daily photos and updates, and when I picked Pepper up she was happy to see me but not desperate to leave. I definitely recommend and will call on him again!”

“David and Phyllis were wonderful in accommodating our unique situation and went above and beyond to make sure Cassie felt comfortable in their home. Communication was excellent—not only with us but also with our friend who had been caring for Cassie during the month. They kept us well informed and made sure we received updates on how Cassie was doing, which gave us great peace of mind. We truly appreciated their kindness, flexibility, and the loving care they gave Cassie.”

About: I grew up with a Golden Doodle, and I’ve been constantly surrounded by dogs and other animals since I was young. If my friends or my moms friends need a dog sitter, I’m the guy they call. I live in an area where giving walks and giving time outside are easily accessible, my living space not being too big or too small, and having a childhood dog I’m very familiar with the comings and goings of when animals need to eat and go to the bathroom. I don’t have a fenced backyard but the dog will never be outside without me or a leash, my living space is nicely sized so I’ll always be able to keep track of the dog. I also don’t have many if any breakable items.
“Brijana is the best! This was our first time leaving our pup, Tofu, with a sitter and we were super nervous. We knew Tofu was in great hands with Brijana! She kept us updated every day with texts and photos and was very patient when our little Tofu was potty-shy. She keeps the doggies in spaces where they will be comfortable and safe but also provides them the opportunity to play with the other doggies that are staying with her as well. I will absolutely book with her any time we need a sitter again. Thanks Brijana!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Tansboro home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Tansboro.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Tansboro sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
