“Mackenzie was great! We had a meet and greet ahead of the visit and went over our dogs personalities and routines. Today was a visit to see how the dogs responded to Mackenzie when we weren't around, and fortunately that went well. Mackenzie kept us in the loop from the time she headed to our home until the visit was complete, and sent a bunch of really cute pictures of our pups. Scooby is a bit of a nervous dog so we weren't certain how he'd do, but he reportedly responded well. We would definitely have Mackenzie care for our pups again!”

“Amazing job. My dogs never even noticed we were gone. They were well taken care of, and I would definitely recommend Elizabeth to anyone in need of pet sitting services.”

About: From big dogs to countless cats, pets have always had a strong, joyful presence in my life! My pit bull at home is the reason I have such a soft spot for big dogs! I will always believe that the bigger the dog, the sweeter they often are, so I am more than comfortable caring for larger dogs. As for cats, I have two little spicy cats of my own, so I know how to handle even the sassiest of personalities! A couple of my other cats can also be timid and nervous at times, so I’ve learned how to be patient and gentle with pets that need a little coaxing. I’ve also pet-sat for neighbors’ dogs and coworkers’ cats on campus, giving me experience with a variety of personalities, routines, and care needs! During college, I also volunteered with a local animal shelter through their Dog Day Out program. You could often find me taking out a dog, going on walks, outings around campus, and car rides to help them socialize and decompress. I'm currently taking a gap year while completing online prerequisites and shadowing for graduate school, so my schedule is fortunately pretty flexible! That means I can easily fit pet care into my day, whether it's an early morning check-in, a midday walk, or evening cuddles. Whether I'm caring for my own pets or those in a client's home, I always strive to follow their normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications (if needed), and, of course, treats! I also always strive to make sure both your pets and your home are safe and well cared for. Doors will always be double-checked, lights will be turned off in the right rooms, and I'll keep a close eye on your pet(s) whether we're out on a walk or just hanging out together at home! I understand that every family and every pet is unique, so I do my best to respect your routines while making your pets feel safe, cared for, happy, and loved.

“Mariah was wonderful with our fur family. She spent time with everyone and sent pictures of happy pups/cats to me daily. I could tell the dogs were happy since they kept bringing her gifts of everything they found on the floor. Even the cats who don't trust most people came out of hiding for her. I will definitely ask Mariah to sit again.”
“Elizabeth is an amazing Rover! She cared for our senior cat and provided compassionate care. She was very responsible and followed all instructions perfectly. She sent us daily photos and updates. We came home to a very happy cat and everything was left neat and orderly. We appreciate you Elizabeth! Thank you so much! 🐈”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities since I was young. Over the years, neighbors, friends, and family have trusted me to walk, feed, bathe, and provide loving attention to their pets. I’m patient, dependable, and comfortable with puppies, and seniors. My goal is always to make every pet feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’m currently just in school, so I have plenty of time to dedicate to your pup! I’m available most weekdays after [time], and I can also help on weekends. I’m happy to do walks, drop-ins, or overnight stays, and I can be flexible with your schedule. I love spending time with animals and making sure they get all the care, play, and attention they need. I live on a spacious property with plenty of open land for dogs to explore and enjoy. While I don’t have a fenced yard, I always supervise pets closely and make sure they stay safe at all times. I have one friendly dog who loves having company, and I can crate your pup if needed. I follow any routines, rules, or preferences you share so your pet feels comfortable, secure, and right at home.
“Theresa was great with my two fur babies while I was away on vacation. I felt at ease especially seeing pictures of them while I was away. I was impressed with the level of communication i recieved from her which i find very important. My dogs seemed happy when I got home not stressed that I was gone. I highly recommend Theresa service!”

“Mandi was fantastic with our spoiled cat baby Milo! She took excellent care of him, spent lots of time bonding with & smooshing him. 😽 We got multiple daily updates, with photos, which helped with our separation anxiety as we were gone for 10 days! She was terrific and we highly recommend her.”

“I couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! Matisa was professional, reliable, and genuinely cared about my dog. Matisa provided regular updates and photos, which gave me complete peace of mind while I was away. It was clear my dog was happy, well cared for, and received plenty of attention and affection. I came home to a relaxed, healthy pup, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with Matisa again. Highly recommend Matisa to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and caring to watch their pet!”

About: I’ve been around cats and dogs. I’ve taken care of my childhood dog and my parents three dogs. I also have a pet cat that I had for two years. I am passionate about exercising the dogs needs such as frequent walks, enrichments, and making sure to sneak in their medicine! One of my parents dogs needs to take medicine everyday and often times I do help. The same energy goes towards cats, I believe enriching and making sure they take their medicine is important! Since I intend to further my higher education, my routine and schedule is open and flexible for any pet care services that is needed for my clients. I care for pets in my home by making sure they have all their needs; any bedding, medicine, water, food, and enrichment toys. To add, making sure the pets cannot get into places or items that can be dangerous to them. If it’s within the clients home, I will make sure with the client of the proper medication to the right per, a list on what/how much they should be fed and their schedule, and any walking schedule the client insists on. Of course, providing adequate enrichment that involves treats/rewards!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Tacketts Mill. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
