“My dog is still rather young, is pretty anxious in new settings and around new people, and takes a while to warm up. After meeting Lorelei I felt like she really understands dogs (even neurotic ones!) and I was confident that my baby would do just fine there for the weekend. And on top of it, she took the booking less than a week in advance as I scrambled to make arrangements I'd forgotten to make sooner! I would definitely bring my pup back to her in the future.”

“I highly recommend Stacey for outstanding care! Our dog has stayed with her multiple times and she takes wonderful care and is very thoughtful to send updates and photos! Our dog just loves staying at her house!”

“My dog almost didn’t want to come back home with me, she had SO much fun!! Elizabeth took my dog on walks almost every day and spoiled her rotten! My favorite part was the pictures I received, getting to see how much fun she was having! We will definitely use Elizabeth again! ❤️”

“My dogs looked like they really enjoyed it at Charis' house. She is great with updating how the dogs are doing and really, my dogs now are energetic so I think being outside a lot really helped. I live in an apartment and I'm sure they hate that.”

“Carolyn was absolutely wonderful with our DeauxDeaux. She put our mind at ease leaving him and kept us updated throughout his stay. Our little guy was well cared for and for that, we're grateful. Couldn't ask for more.”

“We just moved to Bremerton from Seattle and needed a new sitter. Celia was great with our Penny. She was easy to communicate with. She and her family were so kind and Penny came home very happy. We would gladly book with her again.”

About: **I do have base access!** I grew up with cats, dogs, hermit crabs, and even mice. 🐭 I work part-time, so I have a lot of flexibility. Know that I have a cat of my own, Bo (8 years), but he does great with other pets. I currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility and lots of time to care for your furry baby! I’m able to provide plenty of attention, playtime, cuddles, and check-ins throughout the day, so your pet won’t be left feeling lonely while you’re away. I live in a spacious three-bedroom apartment with plenty of safe space for your kitty to explore and get comfortable. For new visitors, I reserve my laundry room/guest bathroom as their own quiet space so they can decompress and adjust to their new environment at their own pace. Once they’re comfortable, there’s a long hallway that’s perfect for zoomies and plenty of room to explore! I also have a third-floor balcony that my own cat absolutely loves. He spends hours watching the hummingbirds fly up to visit him. 🐦 Any visiting kitties will always be closely supervised if they spend time on the balcony with me. I know every cat adjusts differently, so I’m happy to give them as much space, attention, or company as they need to feel safe and at home. 🐱
“Wynona and Jeremy were fantastic! So friendly and communicative! They loved Chewie and made sure he was well cared for and happy! Thank you for taking such good care of him!”

“Kevin and Kandice were great. Our dog unexpectedly ended up in a cone with some additional medications and a toy ban the week before his stay and they took it in stride! Skippy had a great time with lots of walks, cuddles, and sniffing adventures despite his new limitations. They were flexible and communicated well with lots of pictures. Will book again!”

“Mike was a true gift during a very emotional and busy time. With family in town for my father’s funeral, I needed a peaceful place for my dog Bo to stay for a few days. Mike and Shari welcomed him into their beautiful, woodsy home—with picture windows that Bo immediately wanted to look out, and a calm, comforting vibe. When I picked him up at the end of his stay Bo was a relaxed and happy dog! Thanks guys!”

“After a nice meet and greet, Juno had her “introductory” overnight stay with Cathleen. It’s clear that Cathleen enjoys caring for dogs, is caring and conscientious. Juno was delighted to be left with Cathleen(!) and we already booked another stay. We’re happy to have found such good care for our sweet girl!”

“Amazing communication, so kind and flexible when travel plans changed because of unplanned medical issues, very loving towards our dog, and sends so many adorable photos. We’re lucky to have found Meagan.”

“They were so good to our dogs and gave us so many updates. They were also super communicative which was really appreciated. If the timings work out again we would trust our dogs with them in a heartbeat.”

“Adar and Ryan were amazing dogsitters. I recieved so many sweet photos and updates about my dogs stay. I could tell they took wonderful care of Cookie and would rebook them in a heartbeat.”

“Samantha was totally great with Fergus and the pups played so well together- tons of pictures and updates. We’re looking forward to our next stay with Samantha and team! ❤️”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Sunset Farm
After losing my phone when moving, I had some difficulties connecting with Neci. Neci went out of the way to overcome my difficulties. Lockett obviously enjoyed herself as she was doubtful she wanted to leave Neci and go to my chaotic, not yet moved in, living situation. I will gladly use her again!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Sunset Farm home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Sunset Farm.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Sunset Farm sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
