“Emily was great! The animals were relaxed and happy when we got home. Our pup had many fun adventures, and our house was cleaner than when we left it. I highly recommend Emily!”

“Gabe was an amazing dog sitter! He took care of our pup all weekend, staying in our home, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He was incredibly responsive, kept us updated with photos, and made sure our dog got plenty of walks and attention. Communication was excellent throughout, and we really appreciated the peace of mind knowing our pet was in great hands. Plus, our home was spotless when we returned! We’d absolutely recommend Gabe to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter, and we’ll definitely be booking with him again.”

“Absolutely fabulous! Took immaculate care of my dog and even gave her a bath! He washed his sheets and kept everything clean and tidy. Sent messages and videos to keep us updated. 💯 recommend!”

About: enjoy taking dogs for off-leash adventures…I mean look where we live! I also loving caring for senior pets…they are truly the best and sweetest ones… i’m semi-retired and have lots of time, and a deep love of ALL the animals but dogs in particular. I want to work part time, and helping others with their pets seems like a great way to do it.. I have a condo free of distractions or dangers for your pet, and I live just a very short walk from the dog park on Warm Springs in Ketchum…
“Both my dogs recommend Adam. His calm nature and laid-back personality helped them feel relaxed. He was the perfect buffer to help introduce a new dog into my household. Really appreciated his handyman abilities, helping me program devices and keeping the new condo up to speed. He is an enthusiastic dog walker, so there was plenty of exercise for the new pup. We all enjoyed making his acquaintance and look forward to booking him again.. Pam, Ace and DeeDee”

“This was our first time using Rover and working with Mallory— we had a really positive experience, Mallory was enthusiastic to engage with our energetic pup, match her energy, and give her so much love and attention while we were away. Mallory also sent us updates so we could know how our dog was doing, and was very communicative. We will definitely have Mallory pet sit again when we travel!”

“Kira is a wonderful pet sitter. Our dogs immediately felt comfortable with her and we knew they would be in good hands. She sent photos and updates and took wonderful care of our home. We would definitely use Kira again.”

“Highly recommended. We hired Nicholas to care for our Great Danes and my plants for 10 days. He stayed in our home and took fabulous care of our girls. Nicholas sent daily updates and pictures. He, also, reached out with questions that came up along the way. When we arrived home, our house was spotless, my plants and our pups were healthy and happy. I will reach-out to Nicholas for future visits.”

About: I’ve grown up surrounded by animals, and honestly, my life just doesn’t feel complete without them. I’ve had 3 dogs, 3 cats and lots of different animal. Ever since I was little, I’ve always been gentle and caring with every animal. Animals aren’t just pets to me they’re family. I love spending time with them, whether it’s playing, cuddling, or just making sure they feel safe and happy. I’m studying psychology and hope to combine that with my love for animals in the future, maybe as a vet or through therapy work. For now, I bring experience, care, and a lot of love to every pet I get to look after. I’m currently working part-time until September 15. I usually work 12–7 PM, and my days off are Thursdays and Fridays, so I’m free all day then. On other days, I’m available for dog walks in the morning before work or in the evening after. I have a house back in my home country in Europe, and I currently have a dog and a cat. My dog lives inside but gets lots of outdoor time, and my cat goes in and out as she pleases. I walk my dog three times a day, and sometimes we go on long hikes. I really believe dogs should spend as much time outside as possible, get plenty of exercise, love, and a good diet. In my home, pets are safe, happy, and super well cared for. I’d give the same care, attention, and love to any pets I look after making sure they’re happy, safe, and well taken care of.
“The best dog sitter I have ever had!!! We received multiple updates a day with lots of pictures of a very happy dog, constant communication, and she went above and beyond what we asked for walks, attention, etc. Could not recommend more!”

About: I have had my own dogs for as long as I can remember. When I moved out I started helping the strays in the neighborhood. I do work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. However I can always stay with the animal and walk them in mornings or evenings. I am pretty flexible on weekends. I am able to keep the dogs well groomed, well fed, as well as walking them and playing with them too. I can stay at the hosts house.
“Upon first meeting Lorraine, we knew she would be a loving, attentive, easy-going sitter for house & hound. She did not disappoint; she provided Ahi with so much love and attention, it gave us great comfort. It feels good knowing there is someone who treats our dog and home as we do. We hope we are able to employ Lorraine's services in the future.”

About: I've been taking care of animals of all kinds throughout my life. Growing up on a horse farm, I was taught early on the importance of providing loving care for our furry friends. I had a love of my life Chihuahua for 13 years, and helped him stay comfortable through the end. I have a 2 year old rescue pup now, who is the sweetest boy in the world. I connect with dogs and ensure they feel safe and comfortable. We all know how sad it is to be separated from our loved ones, so I intend to make your dog feel safe and loved. I live on a quiet street with a fully fenced in yard, so your pup can run and play. Most importantly, I understand how hard it is to have to go away for work or personal reasons and have a safe sitter for your dog, I've been there. My goal is to take that stress off of your hands, knowing that your fur baby is as happy as possible you're away or busy. I work from home Monday - Friday and take my dog on walks every few hours. With my schedule, I am able to give my dog (and your dog) the attention and love he deserves. Nights are quiet and a great time to relax after the work day. We get a walk in before bed and then snuggle up. My dog does sleep in my bed, but I can accommodate bed or no bed for your pup! Quiet house is bright and comfortable. I live close to the dog park if that is preferred as well as close to small hikes. Dogs are always kept on leash unless it's ok on safe hikes to be off leash (always discuss with client). Lots of attention and love throughout the day.
“Ella was amazing to my little girl noodle! I was out of town for the weekend and she was timely and very attentive. She made sure to update me along the way and it was overall a very pleasant experience. I will definitely be using Ella again in the future!!”

“Everything seemed to have gone well. Whitney met us in person before sitting for Marlin and came again the day prior to make sure she had all the information needed and to get a lay of the land. She sent photos of marlin. Although we did not set expectations prior, in the future we would like more frequent updates. We would hire her again.”

About: Passionate dog lover and responsible caregiver, I am excited to embark on this journey as a dedicated dog sitter. With a deep affection for our four-legged companions, I prioritize their well-being, offering a reliable and attentive service. Punctuality, trustworthiness, and a genuine love for animals define my approach. I am committed to ensuring your pets feel happy and secure in my care. As a newcomer, I am eager to build lasting connections with both dogs and their owners. You won't regret choosing me to provide the love and attention your furry friends deserve. "As a retiree, I bring abundant energy and time for your pet's care. Whether active adventures or peaceful moments on a park bench, your furry friend gets the perfect companionship." "Whether in your home or mine, rest assured, I'm attentive to your furry friend's needs and safety. Will always be consistent on what your expectations are for care of your furry friend.
“Jackie was great with our two big baby ridgebacks! She hiked them, sent lots of pics and videos, fed them their not-the-easiest diet and took great care of them. The house was also clean and in good shape when we got home. Jackie’s great, I’d definitely feel safe leaving our pups with her for longer trips!”

About: I’ve been around dogs my whole life. I grew up with two labs and giving them several walks a day was always a high priority so they could burn up all that energy!I understand the importance of a good walk and how it can also be tough to squeeze in sometimes on a busy day. So don’t spend the day feeling guilty if your schedule won’t allow time to give your dog a walk. I can help. We usually let our dogs off the leash so they could run and fetch, but if you would rather me keep them on a leash that is what I will do. I have lived in the area for a while so I know plenty of spots to take them, or if you have preferred routes I will do that. On 3 occasions over the past couple years I have stayed with my sister and her husbands two dogs (lab mixed with Aussie Shepard) for a week at a time. They have as strict of a walking routine/diet as you can imagine and I had no problems satisfying their needs. I also understand that when traveling you cannot always bring your pet with you and putting them in a doggie hotel is both expensive and not a good time for them. If you’d like them to remain in the comfort of your home I’m happy to spend time with them and make sure they are comforted through that period. I work mornings from 5:30-noonish 5 days a week. I am available from 1 until 8 or 9 for walks or check-in’s, feeding, cleaning up. I’m a very active person so can take your dog on long walks, a hike or just play in the yard if preferred. My parents who are often not in town have a large very nice condo in elkhorn that is pet friendly that is available for use. There is an upstairs deck available off the living room for them to go between for them to get some fresh air The yard is not fenced so downstairs I could not leave them to roam. But neighborhood is quiet with a great path for walking them, also have trails out into the desert I could take them if alright.
About: Hi my name is Janis, I have lived in the wood river area for the past 5ish years and love it out here! I have grown up my whole life around dogs and I have also done many dog sitting and housing sitting jobs throughout the years. I love running, nordic skiing playing fetch and being outside in general so if you have a dog with a lot of energy we will be a good match. If you have any questions about me feel free to message me, I'm willing to work with you in order to make you and your pup feel comfortable. I look forward to hearing from you! I have a flexible day time schedule so I am able to get the dogs out for a run, hike, bike, ski during the day. I have a small border collie husky mix named panda. She is really sweet and playful and gets along with all dogs. I also have a white border collie mix named ziggy who is super playful and loves all dogs and cats! I unfortunately can’t have more dogs in my home, but am happy to house and pet sit and will be sure to take great care of your place!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sun Valley walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sun Valley maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sun Valley choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
