I cherish the early mornings, the energy I bring to staying active, and the peaceful moments spent winding down with cuddles and playtime. It's these simple joys that fill my heart with compassion and connection. In my home, pets are treated like family lots of love, playtime, and a cozy space to relax. “Bobbie was great. Very responsive to my questions and showed a genuine care for our dog. Our big-ol pittie loved her so much, she was able to get him to eat consistently while we were gone and took him out for walks no problem ❤️”

About: Animals are my thing. I have dogs, cats, chickens, birds, and sheep, many who are rescues, and I love them all. I have been taking care of animals ever since I was a young child and thought about becoming a vet, but I became a teacher instead. I am off work for the summer and many of my weekends are free now that my children are all teens and above. I am located conveniently near the 145 and highway 41 in the Madera Ranchos. On your way to Yosemite? Going to have some family time in Fresno? I’ll take care of your pet for you. Your dog will join the pack for its stay and relax or play on the 2 acres of fenced in land. I’m a teacher so I have open availability in the summer and on most weekends. I can check in on your pets in the afternoons or evenings when I’m working. I have 2 acres of fenced in yard. I also offer the dogs time to cool off in the pool and a large house to hang out in. If you want me to drop in on your pets at your home in the afternoons and weekends, I can do that too.
“Emily was great! She is my first ever pet sitter, I was nervous about one of my pups, but by the end of the weekend he warming up to her! It was nice having someone check on them while I was away! I couldn’t recommend her more!”

About: For the past 8 years, my daughter has been working with a rescue, fostering dogs of all ages—from playful puppies to sweet seniors. I’ve been by her side every step of the way, helping care for each one. Through the years, I’ve gained so much experience and joy being around these amazing pups. They’ve filled our home with love while they wait to find their forever families, and every one of them has left a paw print on our hearts. Pet care is naturally woven into my daily routine. From morning walks and mealtime to play sessions and cuddles, I make sure every pet feels loved and secure. Whether it’s a quick potty break or a relaxing evening stroll, I prioritize their comfort and happiness just like I would with my own. Caring for animals has become a joyful and meaningful part of my everyday life. When I care for pets in someone’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress-free as possible. I follow all feeding, walking, and medication instructions carefully and give them plenty of love, attention, and playtime. Being in their familiar environment helps them feel safe and relaxed, and I do everything I can to make sure they’re comfortable and happy while their family is away.
“Emily is just an amazing girl!!! She took care of my cat like she was her own. This is the first time we've left her home and with a sitter. We could not have found a better person”

About: I have had dogs my entire life and have extensive hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and breeds. Growing up with dogs taught me the importance of providing daily exercise, feeding, grooming, companionship, and recognizing their individual needs and personalities. In addition to caring for my own pets, I have watched and cared for many dogs for family, friends, and neighbors. I am comfortable with feeding schedules, administering basic medications if needed, taking dogs on walks, cleaning up after them, and making sure they feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away. I am dependable, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, treating every pet as if they were my own. Pet care fits easily into my daily routine because I've had dogs my whole life and caring for them has always been part of my day. I'm used to planning my schedule around feeding times, walks, playtime, and giving pets the attention they need. I enjoy being active and spending time with animals, so making sure they're happy, comfortable, and well cared for is something I genuinely enjoy. I am reliable, organized, and committed to following each pet's routine to help them feel safe and comfortable while their owner is away. I will care for your pets with the same love, patience, and attention that I give my own. I will carefully follow your pet's routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medication (if needed), and any special instructions you provide. I will make sure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you're away. I'll also keep your home clean by picking up after your pet, refreshing water bowls, and maintaining their living area. I understand how important it is to have someone trustworthy caring for your pets, and I'll provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind during your time away.
“First time using Rover so I was a little bit nervous but Donna was AMAZING!! She spent a ton of time with my sweet boy! She sent pictures, took him on a walk, and even taught him a new trick (I literally booked her to drop in twice). You could just tell how much she cared about his comfort and well being; for instance, our heat went out and when the temperature dropped she offered to drive an extra two hours to bring him a heater! We live super far away from her and yet she still took an extra trip to come meet all of us. I could not recommend her enough! She’s wonderful!!”

About: I love pets and animals and have lots of experience! I pet sit for all my friends and coworkers as they say I have a special connection with their pets. Animals love me and I love them! Happy to watch young or senior pets, and have experience with exotic pets like reptiles and birds As a teacher, I have all federal holidays off as well as weekends. I’m in town otherwise, so I can dependably check in on animals over weekdays as well. I will always make sure to take good care of your pets in your home, and take care of your home as well! Homes are a special and sacred place and I will always respect your area. It is great to watch them in their own home as this is less stress for your pets!
About: I grew up with dogs and have 4 years of professional dog and cat caretaking experience - I worked at an animal hospital in the boarding department taking care of dogs and cats (giving meds, feeding, nail trims, and daycare). Then I moved states and I worked at a local grooming salon for 2 years. I am available most days as I have a remote job that is very flexible. I currently don’t have my german shepherd dog with me as she lives with my dad. I can take as much time as you need as my remote job is very flexible and allows 1:1 time with your pet. I love to take morning and evening walks! I treat every pet and home with the same care and respect I would my own. I understand how important it is to maintain your pet’s routine, provide lots of love and attention, and keep your home clean and secure while you’re away. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to giving you peace of mind with regular updates. I send many photos and videos :)
About: I’ve taken care of dogs for 4 years. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to feed and play with their pets while keeping things tidy. I’m currently in college full time. I’m available Monday through Thursday after 2 pm and Friday all day. My availability on the weekends may vary. I like to check on my pets multiple times a day to make sure they have enough food and whatever they need. I think it’s very important for your animals to get the love and attention they need.
About: Hey there! My name is Chloe and I am an unabashed animal lover! I’ve always grown up with pets—dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, invertebrates—so I have quite the soft spot for them. At age 16, I started volunteering with the Humane Society, and continued for 2 years before going on to college to earn my degree in biology. I have over three years of professional hands on experience working with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments! I am currently working towards my training certification, but have several years of experience under my belt using positive and force/fear free methods. My dog, Sprout, and I love training together and even more, showing off the results. Sprout has her BCAT, is working towards her first dock diving title, and trains for multiple other sports. My dedication to caring for animals truly comes through when you meet my dog! I’m currently working part-time which gives me the flexibility and availability perfect to care for your pet! Whether it be an overnight stay, drop-in, or walk, I make sure my clients are well-taken care of and happy when I leave. I try to follow your routine as closely as possible. Dogs find comfort in routine and giving them that extra sense of familiarity can help so much when their parent away. I live in a two-story home with a fenced backyard perfect for any pet! We don’t have many rules here, certainly none about furniture! Your pet will have freedom to roam, or, if you prefer, a safe place to be crated. I am very flexible with how you’d like me to care for your dogs!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sumner Hill. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
