Genny took great care of my dog. She sent pictures throughout the day which I really appreciated. I don’t think anyone has ever watched him who seemed to be as caring as she was. I would definitely book again!

Because my dog has always been anxious and aggressive towards strangers, I was hesitant to find him a sitter. Jade and Joshua made us feel confident and comfortable at the meet and greet, and my dog immediately warmed up to them. My spouse and I could tell that Bo-lin felt safe, and that's all I wanted in a sitter. Joshua and Jade are experienced, confident, attentive, and attuned to what we and Bo-lin needed. We look forward to having him get used to their dogs and coming out of his shell!

About: We have both taken care of animals our whole lives, we are both registered nurses with a love for animals of all ages and breeds. We have both rescued animals and have experience with puppies and senior age dogs. Both of our dogs at home are rescues that have required a lot of love and dedication that have become our world. They love to play and make new friends. We live on just over an acre of land that is fully fenced in that is our dogs paradise, and could be yours as well! We understand the peace of mind you want as you leave your fur babies in our care and will provide high quality care and reassurance at all times. We both work from home as remote care nurses. The dogs would never be left alone unless we run out quickly. Potty breaks and playtime would be frequent throughout the day. In a short sentence, our dogs rule our house. We are firm believers in giving animals the best life you can give them and allowing them to feel comfortable in our home, as it was their own. We understand owners may have routines they expect us to follow with their animals and we will honor those requests.

About: Hi! I'm Kernix — a military spouse, dog lover, and proud chocolate Lab mom to Josie! I know how important it is to find a safe, loving, and stress-free place for your pup while you're away. My goal is to provide a true "home away from home" experience with lots of attention, structure, and affection. I grew up around animals and have always loved caring for them. Growing up, we had pugs, chihuahuas, bunnies, and hamsters, so caring for pets has always been a natural part of my life. We moved to South Carolina in October 2025 after previously being stationed in Washington. My husband is originally from Myrtle Beach, SC, and we've loved settling into the Summerville community and making it feel like home. 1 Family at a Time: I only accept one client family at a time so your pup will receive personalized care without the stress of a crowded boarding environment. This setup works especially well for puppies, anxious dogs, seniors, or dogs who simply do better with a calmer environment. About Our Home & Routine: We live in a quiet, dog-friendly neighborhood with a fully fenced backyard where pups can safely play, sniff, and explore. Dogs enjoy regular potty breaks, supervised playtime, enrichment activities, belly rubs, and lots of companionship throughout the day. I also closely follow feeding routines and medication schedules when needed. Meet Josie: We also have our sweet chocolate Lab,Josie! She is extremely friendly and social and has done wonderfully with every person, dog, and cat she has met so far. Josie enjoys meeting friendly dogs and would love a playmate during your pup's stay. Meet & Greets & Communication: I highly encourage meet & greets before boarding, especially for first-time stays. I want both you and your pup to feel comfortable and confident before booking. Communication is very important to me, and I always do my best to stay flexible with drop-off and pick-up times whenever possible. Boarding & Doggy daycare: Doggy day care pickup is by 5 PM. If pickup is needed after 5 PM, please book boarding instead so I can properly accommodate your pup's evening and overnight care routine. Boarding Requirements: To help keep everyone safe and comfortable, I currently only accept: • Dogs that are reasonably potty trained • Friendly dogs that do well around people and other dogs • Dogs that are up to date on vaccinations and flea/tick prevention Because I provide care in my personal home, I may not be the best fit for dogs with severe separation anxiety, destructive behaviors, or frequent indoor accidents.

About: I bring experience and love. I care for a senior dog and two cats so I know the patience and attention needed for all stages of life. I love animals and will treat your furry friend like my own. I am currently a stay at home mom so I am able to make our schedule whatever it needs to be to properly care for your animals while you are away. I have a large backyard with a privacy fence so they can run around as much as they want. If your furbaby wants to sleep in or out of a kennel that is fine. They will have the freedom to sleep where they like.

About: I absolutely adore pups of every size and personality! At home, I have a Shih Tzu, a Dalmatian (we thought he was a Lab until we did DNA testing!), and a sweet little Chihuahua. Each one is so different, but together they make the perfect pack. All of my dogs came from tough beginnings, but their resilience and ability to love inspires me every day. Giving them a safe, happy, and loving home has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I would treat your pets just like my own—keeping them safe, cared for, and comfortable while giving them all the love and attention they deserve. Whether it’s cuddles, playtime, or just making sure their needs are fully met, I’ll make sure your furry family members feel right at home. I’m a proud pet parent to three wonderful rescue pups, and I honestly couldn’t love them more. Watching them learn how to simply be dogs—to play, to trust, to feel safe and loved—has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life. They give me just as much joy as I give them. Our pack has a well-loved routine: breakfast and dinner together (with Otis getting his pill at each meal). Since I work from home, two of the pups usually “work” alongside me—though Ollie prefers lots of days off. Their work ethic may be questionable, but their company is unmatched! Ozzie, on the other hand, takes his role as head of security very seriously, keeping a close watch from the front window. At home, the dogs are always by my side, whether it’s keeping me company during the day or snuggling at night. They sleep in bed, lounge on the furniture, and honestly think of me as part of the furniture too—and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Caring for them has taught me the importance of patience, safety, and unconditional love—values I carry into caring for every dog I meet. Each dog is unique, and I happily adjust to their needs. From carrying Ollie up and down stairs, up and down from the couch to giving him stroller walks so he can keep up, I make sure every pup feels included. I’ll give your dog the same love, patience, and care I give my own. Our home has three friendly pups—Ozzie is the biggest at just 45 lbs! Yard is fully fenced and secure yard, but I always go outside with them to ensure safety. Our dogs are allowed on the furniture, but I’m happy to follow your preferences if you’d like your littles to stick to their own cozy spots. At home, we keep things relaxed and let the pups be themselves. We always keep fresh water available (three bowls downstairs that I’m constantly refilling!). If I’m dropping by to care for your pets, you can count on me to be prompt, respectful, and to show them the same love and attention I give my own. Keeping dogs safe is a top priority for me—I know the worry of even imagining a lost pet, and I’ll always make sure yours are secure. Beyond that, I truly enjoy spending time with dogs, whether it’s playing, cuddling, or even having a “deep conversation” with them. After all, they always have the best listening ears.

He also comes back from doggy daycares stressed and overwhelmed, but he seemed so refreshed and happy when he came back:) Would definitely recommend Lizzy as the best dogsitter!

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for the past two years and truly enjoy building trust with each one. I have experience walking, feeding, playing, and providing basic care for dogs of different sizes and personalities. I’m patient, attentive, and always make sure dogs feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I understand that every dog has unique needs, and I take the time to follow routines and instructions closely so pet parents can feel confident their dog is in good hands. I am home seven days a week since I attend school online. Even when I need to run errands, I am usually gone for no more than two hours at a time. This allows me to provide frequent supervision, attention, and care. When I am not home, my wife is also available to help care for the pets, so they are never left alone for long. I provide a safe, calm, and loving environment for every dog in my care. I have a large, fully fenced yard where dogs can safely play and get exercise under supervision. I closely follow each pet’s routine, instructions, and any special needs provided by the owner. Dogs are always supervised, given plenty of attention, and treated with patience and respect so they feel comfortable, secure, and cared for at all times.

Monzerrath did a fantastic job with our 1 year old springer spaniel. This was my first time having someone watch him and first time using rover. I felt very comfortable after our meet and great where she showed a ton of love towards our Dog. I highly recommend Monzerrath, she will be the first person I call if I need my dog to be taken care of.

Kathy B is amazing. We came to the Charleston area to visit friends and we brought with us a 10 month old, active, unneutered Bolonka puppy. We needed a safe place for him while I celebrated my birthday. Kathy not only kept him safe, but she kept him engaged and active. He had a ball playing with her and her family. I recommend her without any hesitation. She is kind, responsible, flexible and fun loving. Best of all, I was able to leave Toby with her without worrying about him.

About: I’ve always put my pets first when it comes to their care and always ensure they are well taken care. This always made me a first pick for neighbors to ask me to look after their pets if they were away. I work a hybrid schedule during the week and available most weekends to spend unlimited time with your pets. I have a friendly indoor cat who follow a strict routine so I am very consistent. I am also a runner and love to take walks with your pet! I have a lot of space and trails around my home for walks and places for your dogs to run! Plenty of extra space in my apartment to crate your dog if needed to. Cats always have plenty of space, windows, and hiding spots too. I love pictures so you will have endless pictures of your pets.

Jenny took outstanding care of our pups. She is a real dog lover and it truly shows. The only negative thing I will say is that they came back smelling like cigarettes and I happen to be allergic but if you are a smoker, that is inevitable. Outside of that, our experience was great.

FAQs for Doggy Day Care - Summerville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for Doggy Day Care in Summerville on Rover is $33.3 per day (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of Doggy Day Care easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for Doggy Day Care. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 750 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Summerville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Summerville commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 750 sitters in Summerville, 86% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
