“Jessica did an outstanding job taking care of my dogs and house while we were away! She kept me posted with pictures and updates every few hours. I would highly recommend her! So happy to have found Jessica. She's exactly what we were hoping for in a trusted pet-sitter.”

“Cheryl is the greatest pet sitter ever! I had to unexpectedly change my plans and she was very flexible and helped me when I needed it. My cat, Trouble, enjoys her very very much and I know he’s in very good hands!! I highly recommend her!! 😻”

About: My love for pets started at a young age when I began caring for my family’s dogs. Over time, what began as a simple responsibility grew into a deep passion for their well-being. Today, I bring that same dedication, joy, and care to every pet I look after. With years of experience, I’ve cared for pets of all breeds and ages, from playful puppies to wise seniors. Here’s what sets me apart: All breeds, all ages: I’m comfortable caring for every type of pet, ensuring their unique needs are met with patience and expertise. Medication administration: I’m experienced in giving oral medications and insulin injections with care and precision, so your pet stays healthy and stress-free. Puppy training and socialization: I’ve helped young pets develop good habits, build confidence, and feel at home in their environment. Senior pet care: I understand the gentle needs of older pets, from low-impact play to monitoring their comfort and well-being. Compassionate and reliable: I treat every pet like my own, providing a safe, loving, and fun experience they’ll love. If you’re looking for a sitter who combines experience, trustworthiness, and a genuine love for pets, let’s connect! I’d love to discuss how I can make your pet’s day as special as they make yours. I have plenty of time to dedicate to pet care and love being around animals. Here’s how I’ll make sure their needs are always met: Daily: Morning and evening: Feed the pet and take them for walks or playtime. Throughout the day: Spend time cuddling, training, or providing companionship. Weekly: Cleaning their space, and ensuring they’re happy and healthy. Longer outings or adventures, like trips to the park or beach, if the pet enjoys it. Flexibility: I’m available for drop-ins, last-minute requests, and overnight boarding. Experience: I’ve cared for pets in the past and love making sure they feel safe, loved, and well-cared for. Whether it’s a quick walk, a playdate, or a longer stay, I’m happy to help! I treat every pet as part of my family, whether they’re staying in my home or visiting yours. Here’s how I ensure their comfort and safety: In My Home: I provide a safe and cozy space: I prepare a quiet, pet-friendly area with their bed, toys, and familiar items (like blankets or treats) to help them feel at home. Routine care: I stick to their regular feeding, walking, and playtime schedule to keep them comfortable. Supervision: I monitor their behavior, energy levels, and health, and I’m always available to provide companionship or address any concerns. Cleanliness: I keep their space tidy, sanitize bowls and bedding, and ensure their environment is safe (e.g., no hazards like loose wires or toxic plants). Pet-proofing: I make sure my home is secure, especially for curious or energetic pets. In a Client’s Home: I am respectful and observant: I follow the pet’s routine exactly as the owner describes, including feeding times, walks, and any specific instructions (e.g., no treats, certain commands, or favorite toys). Home safety: I double-check that doors, windows, and gates are secure to prevent escapes. I also ensure the pet doesn’t have access to unsafe areas (e.g., cleaning supplies, trash, or small objects they could swallow). Updates: I provide regular updates to the owner, including photos or messages about how their pet is doing/ any concerns I have. Emergency plan: I have the owner’s vet contact info and my backup’s details in case of an emergency. Extra care: I love giving pets extra love and attention through cuddles, gentle play, or quiet time—whatever they need to feel happy and relaxed.
About: Hello! I have been involved in fostering animals for many rescues for over 15 years. I have fostered well over 150 puppies and dogs and over 80 kittens and cats. I have worked with dogs and cats from birth and up. I have experience with ill animals, seniors, and stubborn ones! My children have grown up helping foster and are very use to animals being in home and how to properly interact and treat animals. I have worked with animals of all ages and sizes through rescue, tiny toy breeds up to big mastiffs and bully breeds. We love them all! I provide great communication throughout your pets stay, updates and photo/videos. I am home all day and can give the animals proper attention and time. Walking, play time, snuggles, potty time, can bottle feed, grooming etc! We have a fenced in play area in the back yard and love to take walks around the neighborhood. I have space to bring your own crate if needed. Nursing moms and puppies are kept privately in my room away from others for comfort and peace. Being home helps me be able to stick to your routine with your pets, being let out, meds if needed and eating at the same times as they would at home.
“Taylor is the best. She stayed at our home and took care of our dog who was in love with her. We felt completely relaxed and trusted her completly. We do hope she can spend more time with our dog in the near future.”

About: I have loved 3 senior dogs over the rainbow. I have a high energy cattle dog. I've had squirrels, cats ,bunnies, roosters, ducks. All that needed individual care at different times. I'm confident administering medicine and giving arthritis massages. I am a college student who just wants some relaxing and fun work around furry friends. I have availability most weekdays and weekends with enough notice. My animals are my babies first and foremost. Other people's animals are also my babies so any care coming from me would be exactly what I would do for my own.
“Bonnieli is amazing! she communicated clearly prior to meeting and arrived early with a smile on her face. my dog paco is a very anxious boy but loved playing and walking with her! her love for dogs is obvious and i cannot recommend enough”

About: I approach all walks of life with an open heart and love. Because of this I believe all critters seek out my affections and makes for fun interactions. I am currently at a cross road in life and looking for new situations that are more fulfilling. I absolutely enjoy spending my time with four legged friends. I have a mostly private fenced in yard with plenty of room for running and playing. I also can provide crates and segregated spots for our friends that need their own space or maybe a little to shy.
“Courtney has once again done an excellent job taking care of our Sydney girl — She’s a 14 yr old, who acts more like a toddler with lots of quirks, than an old lady. Courtney handles everything like a pro. She checks in with a picture or two every few days, which is perfect for us! We are very pleased 🫶”

“Carter took great care of my boys. They aren’t the easiest (one doesn’t like strangers or other dogs and the other has separation anxiety and both are big and needy) but from the moment he met them, they were buddies. He left the house in clean and kept me informed on how they were doing while I was away. Will definitely book with him again and we are so thankful we found him.”

“Wonderful!! Can't say enough good stuff about Tina. She's a sweetheart and loved my Bernie and she loved Tina. They had a good day with no issues so I was able to travel to Jacksonville for Dr appointments. Tina arrived bright and early ask planned and was very patient about our long day away. Bernie, Mom & Dad love Tina E!”

About: I’ve owned 4 dogs of all different sizes and temperaments. I love spending quality time with dogs because they truly make life worth living for! I am currently working two part time jobs and currently have extra time on my hands. Dogs have been apart of my life for so long and I would love to take care of more pups! I will provide the best service for your dog that I can. I will make sure they are fed, walked, and taken outdoors to play & exercise while they are in my care.
“Carol is an awesome person. She took such great care of our little ole lady and understands pet anxieties. We were able to enjoy our trip worry free because we knew Carol was taking great care of our pitty. We will definitely be requesting Carol for any future needs.”

“Patty was absolutely AMAZING! She communicated well before, during and after the stay. She consistently sent photos and kept us up to date on our dog. She was very respectful and would definitely use her in the future!”

“Bryanna is fantastic! We’ve never felt so relieved in knowing that we have a person we can fully trust and rely on with our pups. We have a senior dog and a puppy. That combo can be a bit overwhelming, but Bryanna was able to handle them effortlessly. We know we will be reaching out to her again in the future!”

“We loved having Kelcey pet sit our Pup Zena. She gave Zena all the special care that she needed with being an older dog. When Zena didn’t want to go out after a long day, Kelcey picked her up and got her outside. She gave her a ton of loving and is very trustworthy. Will definitely book again as long as we still have Zena. Thank you again, The Gregory’s”

“Titan was so sad when Cindy left. I got daily pictures and came home to a happy dog. Cindy even cleaned the sheets and towels she used. Top notch service and super friendly! Highly recommend Cindy and her husband!”

“This is our 2nd time using Jennifer!!! She is great with all our dogs. She keeps us updated on any concerns and how they are doing!!! She is definitely our “go - to” for any future vacations!!!!”
About: I've been an enthusiastic lover of all sorts of animals. From the cute and cuddly dogs or cats to the sometimes considered less appealing reptiles and amphibians. I always have had a great low-key type of energy that some more anxious or skittish animals tend to be more receptive to. It helps im very patient and attentive to an animals needs. I, myself have owned Dogs, cats, small mammals and rodents, reptiles, and fish. I am very accommodating to any special care or attention a pet may need. Ive been pet sitting off and on since I was a teenager and have never encountered an animal I wasnt able to care for responsibly and exceed expectations. I can look after larger dogs (100lbs+) as I am 6' with the strength to walk and play with them. I grew up with a 100lb German Shepard and owned a 100lb Rottweiler mix. No pet will deter me. On the flip side I also enjoy smaller dogs that want to be held and/or carried. As I've mentioned I'm an all around animal lover. I generally work 4p to midnight. With that said I have pretty good flexibility and can usually work from home. I ensure pets nourishment and care are well met. I treat the clients home with absolute respect, very tidy and maintain the home as if it were my own. Cleaning up after myself and leaving it in the best condition possible. Making sure the pets area is tidy after eating or playing, cleaning up any messes they may create.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sugarmill Woods
I would give Debbie more stars if available. We had her house sit for our dog. She went above and beyond. I'm not sure our dog even missed us, and I think our house was cleaner than we left it. I feel very secure in leaving our dog with Debbie. It makes traveling so much easier for us to know there is someone out there that treats our dog as good or even better than we do. Thank you Debbie We will see you again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sugarmill Woods walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sugarmill Woods maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sugarmill Woods choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
