“Joseiris was absolutely amazing! She was very responsive, communicated clearly and went above and beyond for my two cats. She was willing to learn how to use a cat inhaler and absolutely nailed it. She sent photos and status updates during each visit. My cats are usually pretty shy, but they instantly took a liking to her. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and friendly sitter.”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, and I care deeply about making sure animals in my care have a clean, safe environment where they can be happy & healthy! My pets are truly family members, and I know that others’ pets are the same for them. I’ve had experience dog-sitting for friends and family. I also have experience with medically complex pets, which included caring for them post-surgery, and administering medications for their entire lifetime. I’m very good at following instructions, and absolutely love being with any pet! I’m a teacher who doesn’t work in the summer. Until July 26th, I’m in a musical production and will have rehearsals from 5-9 Mon-Thurs in Ellington (with shows 7/17 & 7/24 at night and shows 7/18-19 & 7/25-26 in the early afternoon), but that is currently the only regular thing I am doing! I am experienced working with animals and know how to read their body language to determine what they may need or how they’re feeling. I’m experienced in attending to the needs of my own pets, and I am also very good at following directions left for me!
“Rachel did a couple last minute drop-ins for me and was even able to squeeze in a meet & greet to meet my shy pup Kiva beforehand. Despite the meet & greet, Kiva was still wary and Rachel was very patient with her as Kiva got more comfortable. Thank you Rachel, I appreciate you!”

“We are very thankful to have found Shea to care for our pups while we are away! Having a high energy rescue pup we had been limited in our ability to do much traveling. Shea came for a meet and greet and after spending a short time with us we were all calm and comfortable. Shea has helped us several times and each time we have come back to a tidy home and happy, well-adjusted doggies! Thank you Shea.”

“Abmari dropped by to refill the food and water, as well as tend to the litter box for my 2 cats! She communicated well, is very responsive, and put up with my cats’ diva attitudes. I truly appreciate her patience and reliability!”

“Jessica looked in on my dog Mona and walked her a few times a day while I was gone for a few days. Everything from the initial meeting, to taking care of my dog and sending updates and pictures, was handled easily and professionally. I would highly recommend Jessica, and would hire her again the next time Mona needs care!”

“Jillian always takes such good care of our Peanut! She gives great updates and photos of our sweet girl when we are away and makes sure she is cared for, would recommend her highly to everyone!”

“I had an emergency where i had to go the hospital where i ended up staying for 8 days. Liz was an absolute life saver and stepped in to take care of my fur babies I received updates daily. That helped me so much to relax and be able to heal in the hospital. I came home to healthy happy fur babies. Liz is WONDERFUL with animals. I highly recommend her!!! -Daryl”

About: As a certified and insured pet sitter I am qualified to care for a variety of pets. I am a calm and nurturing which helps me to gain animals' trust. I have had a lot of experience with shy or feral cats. As a pet owner of a severely asthmatic cat, I am adept at giving medications, such as pills and inhalers. I am a special education teacher and am off for the summer. I am also available after school and on weekends to do visits or pet sitting. I prefer to care for pets in their own home so that they are more comfortable and less stressed. I can do check-in or longer visits.

“Ruby had another great span of days hanging with Hannah. Ruby and her cat siblings thought they were on vacation too and ransacked some treats. Hannah moved a chair to block them from further indulging and this helped us come home to less of a mess and having to deal with upset pet tummies.”

“From the moment I met Lee I knew that my dogs would be in good hands. He was sending me photos of my dogs every time he went to visit them so I wasn't worried about them at any time. When I returned from my vacation I found my home clean and my dogs well taken care of!! I will definitely hire Lee's services again.”

“She was by far the best care taker we have used on rover. She took our drop in at the last minute and stayed the entire visit, was extremely attentive to the dogs, was clear with her communication and understanding our needs and did exactly as we asked. She even went above and beyond getting the dogs back in as they were being a little apprehensive about going back inside. Would HIGHLY recommend and will definitely be using again.”

“Erin was incredible with our two cats! She leaned into their quirks and attitudes and took the best pictures for us while we were away! Would recommend her to anyone time and time again.”

About: Hey there! I’m Milo, a pet sitter of 6 years, and a dog walker since childhood. I have a diverse range of experience with all ages and breeds of dogs, and am confident that I can find a way to work well alongside your pup! Whether a quick check in for a game and a potty break, a 30 minute walk around town, or a few overnights so they never get lonely, I am excited to get to know your furry friends and give them the best day possible! I work part time at a dog daycare, where I am responsible for working with up to 45 dogs at once. This means that I will be able to give your pup corrections in the right way, as well as being able to handle any stubborn, stressed, or scared temperaments. I am comfortable with dogs of all ages and sizes, as well as high energy or low/stubborn energy. I am not grossed out easily, so any pups with stomach issues are in great hands. Feel free to ask about medication administration if needed as well! I am open to any and all questions, so please reach out so we can make a good match! I am currently a college student working part time, but with close visits I can fit in a walk or potty break almost anytime during the week. Overnights are available Thursday through Sunday, or upon special request. Any scheduling issues please reach out, as my schedule is flexible. I am happy to settle into any type of home, and with the appropriate fenced yard I can play, run, or even just watch from afar to meet your pups needs. I am able to administer medications upon request, and will make sure they are in bed on schedule if I am staying overnight. Overall I am simply happy to adjust and be flexible to meet any of your pups needs.
About: I have been taking care of dogs almost my whole life, and finally decided to branch out and get more clients on my roster. I am a nineteen year old college student studying to become a music teacher, and I have two small dogs of my own. I have experience with large dogs, medium dogs, tiny dogs- you name it! I’ve worked with puppies to seniors. I can’t wait to help take care of your furry friends! I’m currently attending community college in Enfield during the week (except Friday’s) and spend the weekends with my parents and my sister in their summer home. When I’m not in class, I am taking care of my dogs by doing things like feeding them, brushing their teeth, brushing my long haired dog, and any other needs they might require. I have experience in dog training which includes basic commands, resource guarding, and crating. My female cocker spaniel was fully trained by me, and my male dog knows a few tricks.
“Deborah provided excellent consistent service to check in on my 2 cats while I was on vacation for a weeks. Deborah provided great communication and detail about each visit. I will look forward to booking her in the future. Thanks”

About: I’ve always had a deep love for dogs and grew up surrounded by them, which led to years of hands-on experience in pet sitting, basic obedience training, and daily care. I’m especially patient with and attentive to dogs who may need a little extra support, whether that’s reinforcing routines, offering calm guidance, or simply providing extra care and affection. Until recently, I had an Australian Shepherd at home who was well-trained, active, and loved the company of other dogs. Saying goodbye to her in March 2026 was incredibly difficult, and that experience has only deepened my empathy and commitment to providing thoughtful, attentive care to every pet I work with. I continue to maintain an active lifestyle with regular walks and outdoor time, and I enjoy creating a safe, engaging, and positive environment tailored to each dog’s needs. I treat every pet as if they were my own and prioritize clear communication, consistency, and trust. If you’re looking for someone reliable, experienced, and genuinely invested in your dog’s well-being, I’d be happy to connect and see if we’re a good fit. I provide pet care in mornings, Midday, and in the evenings. I can be flexible with my work schedule as an occupational therapist to accommodate yours I work from home. Willing and ready to support you and your fur baby with the care they need while you’re away! Looking forward to meeting you!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Suffield. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
