Alley took amazing care of our dog Libby. She was communicative and thoughtful. She gave Libby puzzle toys and lick mats for some stimulation while it was too cold to play outside. Would highly recommend

Lorrie was fantastic with my dog Stevie! I could tell from our meet and greet that she is very knowledgeable about dogs. My dog is very scared of people he doesn’t know and hates when people approach him. Lorrie took her time, letting Stevie get comfortable and reading his body language when he needed space. Then, at his first daycare, Lorrie was extremely communicative with me, sending lots of pictures and videos about how Stevie was acclimating. So excited to use her daycare services again!

I'm retired, so my dog is with me most of the time and I've only left her on her own for short periods. I needed to leave her for several hours, so I was looking for a sitter to take care of her during my absence. I found Erin on Rover and all her reviews were 5 star and spoke highly of her. Plus, she was only a short car ride away. We had our meet and greet and Erin was everything and more that her reviews claimed, so I booked with her. My dog had the time of her life during her stay with Erin! Erin took my dog with her when she went to drop off and later pick up her daughter at the school bus stop and my dog, who loves people, was in her element meeting all the other kids and their parents. My dog spent the rest of the day playing with Erin's too-young-for-school son, who did a great job tiring my dog out and she slept all the way on the car ride home! Erin, her husband Nicholas and their two young children treated my dog just like she was their own and took wonderful care of her. I highly recommend Erin.

I can’t express enough how wonderful Sara was with our little Peanut. I had come to grips with the fact that I probably won’t be able to go anywhere this summer because I didn’t want to take my dog somewhere where they would crate her or where she would be with a bunch of other dogs until I found Sara. She was absolutely wonderful and she treated her like one of the family. She only takes one dog or one household of pets at a time which makes me feel even more comfortable. My puppy absolutely adored her and her family and so did I! Thank you Sara for all your did. I know you will see Peanut every time we are away or even just out for the day like we did today.

Christina was awesome! It was my first time using a sitter from the rove app and she couldn’t have made the experience any better. I felt completely comfortable leaving my pup there all day! She truly was amazing, she sent photos, videos, and updates throughout the day which made me believe my pup was in great hands and indeed she was. When I got to Christina’s house to pick up my dog she did not want to leave haha, will definitely be back!

About: I’ve been a pet owner for over 20 years, ranging from the typical fish, cat, and beloved Murphy, to include even a pet iguana (or two). 🥰 I have a fenced yard where both Murphy and your furry loved one can play and hang out. For overnight stays I have a large adult dog kennel that can accommodate a Mastiff just as comfortably as it can my Min Pin (who believes he’s the size of a Mastiff). 😄 I have an older dog with lots of energy and plays well with other dogs. I am an active person, so neighborhood walking is available for dogs with proper training. I can also provide some minor training reinforcement for puppies or young dogs learning new skills and/or tricks. 🐾 Tips are APPRECIATED!!! 🐾 I work from home! 🙌🏾 So my schedule is flexible and allows me to be able to work with and respond to clients in a timely manner. My home is fenced. All pets remain on the property unless they are taken for walks. I also will let clients know about overlaps in booking wih animals.

About: What sets me apart is the level of care, attention, and trust I bring to every pet I watch. I’ve cared for friends’, neighbors’, and clients’ pets both in my home and during overnight stays, so I’m very comfortable adapting to each pet’s routine and environment. I have experience with a wide range of needs, including administering medications and injections, and I’m attentive to any changes in behavior or health. Whether it’s an energetic puppy who needs structure and play, or a senior pet who requires a gentler, more patient approach, I tailor my care to what makes them feel safest and happiest. I also prioritize communication, making sure owners feel at ease with regular updates and photos. My goal is always to make pets feel comfortable, loved, and stress-free while their owners are away. Caring for pets is something I genuinely enjoy, so it’s not something I try to “fit in”, it’s something I intentionally make time for and build my routine around. My approach to pet care is always tailored to each pet’s routine, personality, and needs. In a client’s home, I do my best to maintain their pet’s normal schedule to keep things as stress-free as possible. This includes feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions the owner provides. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, affection, and exercise, while also keeping their environment clean and secure. I’m respectful of the home and aim to leave everything just as I found it. When caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, calm, and comfortable environment where they can feel relaxed and at ease. I keep a consistent routine for feeding, potty breaks, and playtime, and I make sure they get lots of supervision and affection throughout the day.

Dawn is the best! Benny is our first ever pup as a family, so we were very nervous leaving him for the first time overnight, but Dawn took care of our dog with exceptional care and love. Communication was great from the start. She is responsive, provides regular updates, sends adorable photos, which gave us peace of mind while we were away from him, and even gave our puppy a bone to play with that helped with his teething problem. It’s clear that she genuinely enjoys spending time with animals, especially ours ☺️ and we will definitely be using her services again in the future. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter!

His communication is always clear and consistent, and I never have to worry when Cleo is with him. The biggest thing for me is how comfortable and happy Cleo feels in his care! Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Strathmore commute.

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NJ ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 9,764 sitters in Strathmore, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.

You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
