“Jessica was amazing! She walked my two dogs, a high strung chihuahua and elderly dog (14 y.o.), for 30min for 4 days. She reached out and asked if I wanted her to meet the dogs before walking them which was great. The chihuahua tends to bark his head off at strangers, and I wasn't sure how he'd react (he ended up running away from her the first day for 15min, sorry Jessica). The older dog had diarrhea throughout the house one day, and cleaning up after something like that isn't really what I consider her job. I told her she didn't need to worry about it, and I'd deal with it when I got back. However, she ended up cleaning up as much as she could anyways (that's going to be a big tip). Besides my dogs being a huge pain. She always responded quickly and sent a lot of pictures from the walks.”

About: I have had dogs since I was 8 years old. I’ve always had a natural love for animals and walking. I often take long walks by myself. I have worked with senior dogs and puppies and every experience has been a blessing. I just graduated college and have come back home for the summer. I am free most days, except Sundays. I am excited for the opportunity to meet new friends and pets! I have two goldendoodles at home and provide the daily care for them. They get walked twice a day and play in the backyard. I believe in a hands off approach where I let the dog approach me and do their own thing. I never try to force myself into their space.
“Paige was a huge help with our dogs (German Shepherd and Chihuahua). Our usual walker was on vacation and Paige came highly recommended by our usual dog walker. She was very flexible with our dog walking budget and made me feel very comfortable. Paige exceeded expectations and the dogs loved her.”

About: My name is Michelle. I’ve been dog sitting/walking for family/friends for around 11 years and have loved it. I have my own Bassett Hound named Cooper and he’s such a love-bug! I also have two cats Lester and Cici. I absolutely love animals and always treat them as if they’re my own. I tend to always feel really close to pets after I watch them, so feel free to ask me for help again! I’m so excited to meet and play with so many wonderful fur babies. If you have any questions, please message me.
“Lindsey is absolutely INCREDIBLE! The love and care she shows for my pup is unmatched. She goes above and beyond to work with my schedule and is truly such a kind person. If you’re looking for someone to look after your pup in any way. No hesitation. It HAS to be Lindsey. You will not regret it!!!”

Don’t hesitate to reach out to see if I’m available last minute! Weekends are here and there but it never hurts to ask! I have a fenced in yard and live 1 mile from a dog park which I frequent. I have 2 dogs of my own who get along with others very well! If needed, crates are available. There are endless toy options for everyone! I struggle with trust in someone who’s looking after my babies when I’m not with them. I want to provide the ease of mind while caring for your babies when you’re not.
About: I have over 15 years of pet care experience, including caring for my own pets and petsitting for friends and family. I’ve looked after dogs and cats of all ages and personalities, and I truly love spending time with animals. I have three cats of my own and have experience administering various types of medication, including oral meds and topical treatments. I also regularly care for several community cats, so I’m comfortable working with shy, independent, and less social animals. Whether your pet is playful, anxious, energetic, or aloof, I’ll provide thoughtful, loving care that meets their unique needs. I currently offer drop-in visits and walks Friday through Sunday in the Fredericksburg, VA area, with flexible availability throughout each day. I own three cats and grew up with dogs, and I have loved them all. Am willing to play, scratch behind ears, match enthusiasm, or be ignored, all for the love of pets.
“Holly is fantastic, and takes such great care with my pup. She is gentle, and takes the time to take lovely pictures for updates, showing how much she knows that I care about my dog. She is prompt in responding, and absolutely professional, she is very diligent in asking questions when you first week to make sure she takes care of your pets needs. I have used Rover for years now, and I have never found a better caregiver for my dog. I recommend Holly to everyone I know who needs these pet services!”

My house is spacious, warm on cozy in the winter and nice and cool in the summer. I take care of only one customer at a time, meaning your dog will have exclusive attention and pampering. Plus I bake homemade organic dog cookies for them as a bonus for them to enjoy their stay. About this sitter: I have had dogs since a child and love them very much like my own child. Couldn't live without having a pet and caring for them, they are a blessing and great joy in our lives. I want to continue to donate to ASPC in Fredericksburg and Pekingese homeless pets in Richmond in need so they too can have the love and care they long for and I want to be apart of that so I can help all of Gods creation and show them love and care for the ones that I get to have the pleasure to sit in our home and give back in return to the ones in need. Every little that we sprinkle in someones lives is a gift that God gives us to spread the love. Why I love dog sitting since I was a child caring for dogs at 5 yrs old. About my yard We have a back yard and it is fenced in with plenty of running space and very private so the dogs can play and not bother the neighbors My experience administering medication Yes I have done it in the past to my dogs that needed medical attention I am currently working from home and will always be attentive to your babies which they will always have attention. The potty breaks will be every 2 hours or less if needed. My yard is fenced and I have cameras around also your babies will never be left unattended since I have a little one that I’m always going outside with him and playing with him so your baby will receive the same love and attention.

About: I grew up with animals of many kinds my whole life. The best parts of my day as a former Chef and Restaurant manager were being able to play and give love to the dogs in our outdoor patio. I am patient, nice and full of love to give. From pit bulls to Australian Shepards to Chihuahuas, I have a good range of experience for handling any situations. I have a mini Australian shepherd, a tabby cat and a tuxedo kitten, and yet I still enough energy and love to spread to your little love bug. Any dog I meet, we end up bonding and they melt over my leg while I give them skritches 💜. I can’t wait to meet yours! I have recently left the restaurant industry, so my schedule is currently wide open! I am very flexible and eager to start taking care of your pet. I live in an apartment, but we have so many toys and things to keep out baby’s entertained. Many trips to the dog park and many many thrown balls for fetch. I’m good with verbal and non verbal commands and I have a lot of energy to keep up with whatever breed you have.
About: I’ve had a dog my entire life growing up. I got my very own dog at the age of 16 and cared for that dog and many others since then. I have pet sit for many neighbors and friends and they all say just how much they appreciate how I treat their animals as I do my own pets! I work from home and have a lot of flexibility with my job so I can be available to watch your pets and go over throughout the day as needed. I have a fenced in backyard, one small dog, and three children. I will typically be watching your animals in your home, but I have my own vehicle and very reliable!
About: Hello! Whether you need someone to walk your dogs twice a day, check on your kitty, or house sit for a week, I’d love to help! I have several years of experience with both dogs and cats at various shelters including the SPCA and Burlington Animal Services. In addition to basic pet care including feeding, cleaning, and socializing, I have quite a bit of experience being a medical foster. Caring for injured animals and administering medications isn’t an issue for me. I’ve owned cats, dogs, and various farm animals throughout my life so I’m very comfortable caring for any animal’s needs. If you have a pet I haven’t yet cared for I would be more than happy to learn how to care for your baby as well as you would. I'm also happy to bathe your pets for free, I just clean their shampoo and brush. I absolutely adore animals and am really looking forward to getting to know yours! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions! I grew up with four high-energy terriers, so I’m very used to making sure that both pets and people are always safe in any given area. When I enter a home, I always open the door slowly with my leg blocking the gap to prevent excited pets from rushing out. Food or choking hazards are always kept out of reach either on counters or in cabinets and I’m completely comfortable with security measures like alarms and in-home cameras. My pets are a huge part of my life so I completely understand wanting to protect them to the best of your ability. I’m a full-time Rover sitter, so my schedule is super open. I know how hectic life can be and accept last-minute bookings, so please don’t hesitate to reach out! When housesitting, at least 80% of my time will be dedicated to your pets. I have to run errands from time to time, but other than that, I stay focused on them! I lock all doors and windows when I leave, at night, and generally during the day, and your home will look exactly how you left it! Regardless of the type of booking, I’m always very careful when I walk in to prevent animals from bolting outside.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
