About: I’ve taken care of animals since a young age and I rather be around animals than people. They’re like my built in therapy and I love that about animals is they can sense your emotions. My neighbors and family have relied on me to take care of their pets when on vacation. I have taken care of both cats and dogs! I will always take care of your animals like they’re my own! I can do it any day of the week. Any time of day or whenever it’s needed. I currently don’t work and need money to help me pay rent in the future. I want to keep your animals safe however you say you want it. I will meet up to your needs. But feel free to ask questions.
“Meadow was lovely. She was so patient with us and the dogs. All three of the dogs really liked her. She asked all the right questions to make sure she knew how to keep the dogs in routine while she's caring for them. We look forward to working with her again soon!”

“We got off to a rocky start due to miscommunication but Sam adored Rachel. He looked happy in every pic she sent. It's the first time he did not get depressed and he actually ate all his food. It's also the first time he did not leave little piles of dismay. I will definitely use Rachel again. A happy pup when you come home is priceless.”

“Katy stepped in at the last minute and kept my trip from being ruined. She was incredible with my cats. She was always responsive, caring, and made sure to keep me in the loop on everything. My cats loved her! I highly recommend her.”

About: I’m a vet tech, I work with all types of animals, I can do toe nail trims, give baths, and give medications. I start vet school in the fall and am looking for extra cash I work at a vet clinic until end of July before vet school. I can do walks/house/pet sitting working around that schedule for now. We highly recommend Bridget and will definitely book with her again! Thank you for taking such great care of our cats!”

About: I've been caring for dogs since I was 9 years old and have experience with dogs of all ages and needs. I currently have two dogs of my own and have cared for neighbors' and friends' dogs many times, both in their homes and at mine while they were away on vacation. I also have experience helping train puppies and caring for senior dogs. I am currently work part-time, which gives me plenty of flexibility to provide care throughout the day, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings no matter what time! Your dog's safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. I have a large yard and two friendly Labrador Retrievers. One of my dogs has an autoimmune disorder, so I am very familiar with following special feeding schedules, administering medications, and paying close attention to a dog's individual needs. Whether your dog requires a specific diet, medication, extra potty breaks, or particular sleeping arrangements, I will make sure those instructions are followed carefully.
About: I’ve cared for animals most of my life, including my own dogs, bunny, and fish, as well as others’ cats and dogs. I’m patient, reliable, and comfortable supporting pets of all ages, from playful puppies to more sensitive seniors. I focus on creating a calm, loving environment where every pet feels safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. As a full-time school psychology graduate student at OSU, I intentionally and consistently incorporate pet care into my weekly routine. My class and assistantship schedule gives me predictable blocks of time throughout the day, which allows me to provide regular check‑ins, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I balance my academic work with pet care by planning, maintaining a structured routine, and ensuring every pet receives focused attention and a calm, reliable presence. I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment in every home I care for. I follow each pet’s routine closely, keep their space clean, and make sure they always have fresh water, a tidy litter box, and a comfortable place to relax. I pay attention to body language, comfort levels, and any changes in behavior so pets feel understood and secure. Whether I’m in my home or a client’s, I create a peaceful, predictable environment where pets can feel safe, cared for, and genuinely at ease.
“I booked with Taylor super short notice because of an emergency and she was able to accommodate and fit me into her schedule. Took great care of my dog when I couldn’t be there. Went the extra mile.”

“Linda was great! She was able to help out with a last-minute request to do check-ins for my kitty Scooter. She sent daily photos and updates, and when unavoidable problems came up, she was communicative and handled them. It meant a lot to know my kitty was getting attention while I was away for a week. I can tell Linda really loves critters.”

About: I grew up showing great danes in 4h. I have over 10 years working with a certified animal behaviorist and am certified as a trainer through him. Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Stillwater
Amanda did a wonderful job with our fur babies. Everyone was well cared for, and by the end they were obviously really comfortable and friendly with Amanda. She also sent us pictures and detailed updates every day, which really helped our piece of mind. We will absolutely use her again if we need more pet sitting.
Lilly was great! I hated leaving my kitties, but they were in good hands. Lilly was very communicative and sent pictures from each visit, which made my time away much easier. She took excellent care of both kitties! I would def recommend Lilly and will absolutely book her again.

Calamidy was very generous with her time. The visits were consistent, the communication was clear. The sitter has a lot of experience dealing with pets and it showed in the overall experience. Her treatment of my cat was by all accounts excellent. If there was one concern, it is that some of the communication was a little inappropriate, including criticisms of matters peripheral to the pet, and did in at least one instance cross a line into personal criticism, which I did not appreciate at the time. I think the sitter might not have fully intended some of this and maybe just behaved in a manner which was a little too unprofessional, but that did unfortunately leave me a little frustrated and uncomfortable with the whole experience overall.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
