“Nothing but positive things to say about Melanie. She responded quickly, came out to meet Penny well in advance of the booking and provided lots of updates (with photos) during her stay. We'll definitely consider Melanie for future bookings.”

“I have used Rover before in Alaska and was less than pleased with the amount of time spent with my two mini schnauzers, Nahla spend most of her time taking care of my girls during my short trip (three days). The dogs were walked everyday and they liked her a lot. It was her first time and she cooked food for them they way I do; but she did more than the Vet assistant or student I hired in Alaska and the house was still clean. Thanks Nahla”

About: About Me 🐾 I’ve been an animal lover and caring for dogs of all kinds since I was 16! Over the years, I’ve cared for pets belonging to family, friends, and colleagues, so I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, personalities, and needs. As a registered nurse, I’m very dependable, attentive, and comfortable caring for pets who need a little extra TLC. I have experience administering medications, caring for senior pets, and working with animals with disabilities or special needs. I know how important it is to have someone you trust caring for your fur babies, and I’ll treat them like they’re my own! I currently work Monday–Friday from 7 AM–3 PM, which gives me great availability for afternoon and evening visits, walks, and drop-ins, as well as weekends. I’m also very comfortable with crating, leash walking dogs of all sizes, and following specific routines or instructions. Your pet’s safety is always my top priority. I’m especially careful when entering and leaving homes to make sure curious pups don’t sneak out, and I’ll always keep you updated so you can feel confident knowing your pets are happy, safe, and well cared for while you’re away. ❤️🐶 I work as a registered nurse Monday–Friday from 7 AM–3 PM, so pet care fits very naturally into my routine. About: I have dog sat/cat sat for the last 4 years, mostly for my neighbors. I recently moved this this area will take care your pets as one of my own and if you allow them in your bed, I will allow them in mines. I don't mind staying the night over your home if this is what you prefer or I can do drop in visits since mostly on weekends since I work full time. Thank you and I look forward to meeting you and your pets in the future. I currently work at the schoolsTherefore I’m not available Until after 3pm on weekdays. I’m more available on the weekends and evening drop ins during the week. I have a fenced yard at home and a small dog who’s used to having all size friends in the house to play with. In your home I can do the same with walks and care.
“Our dog seemed happy and well cared for when we got home. During our trip ants were attracted to our dogs food. Patrick did well in communicating and handling the problem. He was also helpful when we had a problem with the app. He sent pictures updating us on how our dog was doing. Having Patrick stay at our house with our dog was much better than boarding him. Would use Patrick again in the future.”

About: My family has had big dogs since before I was born. Ive bathed them, walked them, fed them, and loved on them. I also understand dog body language. I will be back for winter break on December 15, and I will not have anything to do for that month, so I can shape my schedule around taking care of your animals. I am good at loving on dogs and I also have experience volunteering at animal shelters walking dogs. I am a good candidate for this job.
“I am so grateful to have found a kind trustworthy Christian women. Will use again. I think my pup was better for her than with me. Do yourself a favor and have a meet with shaniesse.”

“Sheryl did an absolute amazing job with watching my house and puppies while I was on vacation. She kept in contact and sent photos constantly of her and the pups having a great time. Made me feel at ease knowing my dogs and cats where get the proper care while I was gone. Would absolutely use her again and would recommend her to any one needing a sitter. Thank you again sheryl!!!”

About: I have had two dogs before. One I had for about 4 years and the next one I had for 7. The first dog was a Beagle, and the second was an English Pointer. We also have a family cat who’s 5 and kitten who’s under 1 that lives with my mom. However, I have been around big and small dogs and cats my whole life. I can care mostly in the afternoons/evenings on weekdays, but I have some random times during midday and possibly early morning. I’m usually available the entire weekend for every weekend, but there are some exceptions because of my college priorities. Your dog or cat will get any and all the attention it needs! With that being said, I can only visit your pet and they cannot visit me because I live in college dorms. Caring for your pet in your home is quite simple, though. I just need the ins and outs of the dos and don’ts and we'll be all set!

About: I have always been around pets I love animals like they were my own and make them a priority when I can care for them! I am a missionary here in Aiken county so all my days look a bit different but very flexible and I often work from home I try to build a safe trust between me and the pet I am entering into their space to care for them and love them
“Alexandria was great for our 100 lb Great Pyrenees Sheperd mix. She came before to meet Kai and ask questions, showed up on time and sent pictures and feedback during the dog sitting assignment. We will definitely be booking her again.”

“Ashley was wonderful with Baloo! She followed all the rules carefully and kept me updated. Baloo was happy, calm, and perfectly fine when I got home. She was professional, kind, and clearly cared for him. My home was clean and today when I returned. I’d definitely recommend her and book again! She gave me peace of mind while away!”

“Victoria did an amazing job communicating with us about our dogs. She was attentive to the instructions we left for their training along with maintaining one of the dogs medicine routines. Would highly recommend!”

About: I have taken care of friends’ and family’s animals many times. I love playing and walking dogs, especially fetch. I also love sitting on the couch and snuggling with cats or dogs. I currently work full time as a nanny, this family has two cats and I take care of them when the family goes on vacation. I treat all animals with respect and love. I want to make sure they feel comfortable and trust me, which means going at their pace and doing what they enjoy.
About: I've taken care of a variety of animals for family and friends. Watched dogs, rabbits, fish, and a guinea pig for my aunt and cousins multiple times. Recently helped my friend while she and her family were out of town by looking after ducks, chickens, a pig, pigeons, horses, and let her dogs out. I also hand fed her cat to make sure he got all of his medicine that was mixed in it. I primarily work nights but am lucky enough to have a flexible schedule that I can move around to be available for your fur baby. All dogs that I've cared for were let out in a fenced in yard to relieve themselves but I am more that willing to walk any dog that needs more excerise or doesn't have a yard. I can crate your dogs if needed while I'm at work or taking care of my cats and let them back out immediately upon return.
“This was our second time booking with Meaghan. It was just as easy to set up as last time and made for a stress free vacation. She is very responsive and easy to work with. Our dogs have truly come to love Meaghan, and based on the pictures she sent, I’m not sure they even knew we were gone! Meaghan went above and beyond taking care of our pups this week, including bringing a bag of toys for them to play with, and making a pupsicle treat that even my picky husky enjoyed. She sent tons of updates and the cutest pictures, and she even mentioned an improvement in the anxiety levels of my dogs compared to her last visit. Our house was left spotless and our dogs were happy, healthy, and obviously loved on and spoiled while we were away. Highly recommend Meaghan to anyone needing a dog sitter, and will 100% continue to book with her!”

“Ashley took such good care of my 3 babies!!! She sent plenty of pictures and videos which was so comforting and played with them more than we even do! We have one shy dog who warmed right up to her. Highly recommend!!!”

Best dog sitter around!!! Highly recommended she toon care of my corgi cherry and took her on daily walks I have never seen this puppy as happy as she was with any other dog sitters !! Super reliable and easy communication!! Highly recommend Michele and will be re booking with her again going forward!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Wish I could leave a higher star rating than just a 5. Ms Victoria was AWESOME!! Sent pictures every day and kept my wife updated constantly. She is confident and knows dogs very well. I say this for 2 reasons. Ms Victoria and the dogs bonded very quickly. This was awesome as one of our pack was a bit skittish. Second, we have a GSD and a Rottie, both I believe weighted more than she did. A true professional, very detail oriented. We look forward to having her watch our pack again soon.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Stiefeltown on Rover is $26.75 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stiefeltown walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stiefeltown maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stiefeltown choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
