About: People have always told me that I am comparable caring even to pets. They deserve every bit of kindness just like people! A safe and reliable environment at your home! I am able to walk and feed the animals before I go to work and after I come home. As well as having off on Monday& Tuesdays. I can walk and feed your pets in the morning, throughout the day when I’m off I can show them the attention and love they need. I will make sure they always have fresh food&water. As well as making them feel at home when They are away!
About: I grew up in a family that loved animals and I've had pets my entire life. I know how hard it is to work long hours or be away from home without them. I have spent the last 18 years working with dogs and cats. I have managed a doggie daycare and boarding facility and worked for a humane society as a community outreach manager and volunteer coordinator. Besides loving on all the pets, I spent my time there teaching animal safety to children and providing basic animal care and dog handling lessons to volunteers. I have fostered puppies and helped feed and care for cats and dogs awaiting adoption. I am pet CPR and first aid certified. I helped socialize shelter dogs by taking them out for walks, car rides, pup cups and patio time at Starbucks. I have always been the friend you call when you need a pet sitter or help with something pet related. I have two dogs and two cats of my own and they bring so much joy to my life! I love being in the company of pets and would love to spend time with yours. I work full-time Monday - Friday and have a hybrid work schedule. I work from home two days per week which gives me more flexibility to care for your pets. I am available before and after work and mid-day during the week and have more availability on the weekends. I have a lot of experience caring for my own pets, foster dogs, and pet sitting for family and friends. My own dogs do best with having a daily routine, so I tend to keep the same schedule for feeding, medication, walks and bedtime. I will do the same for your pets. My goal is to always make sure people feel good about leaving their pets in my care.
“Zandra took great care of our two pups while we were out of town for a few days. Communication was excellent, and she helped further, without us asking, when our friend didn’t arrive on time to get the pups.”

About: I've been petsitting since I was 13 years old, giving me over 20 years experience. Most of my experience comes from dogs & cats, but I'm happy to learn how to care for other pets, too. I'm currently working part-time, but I'm also a full-time mom to a seven year old, so part-time & weekend jobs work best for me right now. I care for our two senior dogs with the utmost care & respect as they are beloved members of our family. However, one of them does not always get along well with other dogs, so I will not be offering care in my home.
“Kayla was amazing, this was our first time using the app and it was such an amazing experience. She stayed with Rosco while I had to go into the office. She played with him, fed him, and took him outside. She was also sending updates throughout the day and pictures. I would definitely recommend her to anyone. I will definitely reach out to her again in the future to help us with our boy Rosco.”

“Becky was so great with our senior dog and three overly friendly kitties while we were on vacation. She didn’t hesitate to reach out with questions and sent tons of updates and pictures. Our critters were so happy and well cared for. She gave us peace of mind and we are so grateful to have found her! Thank you a million times, Becky!”

“Tori took amazing care of our kitten and went above and beyond in every way! It was our first time leaving him alone, and she made us feel so comfortable leaving him. She went out of her way to send us lots of pictures and updates! She was amazing with our kitten and had great communication. We will definitely be asking her to come back.”

“Sadie is amazing! She took my pet sitting request with short notice and was very easy to work with. She made sure to keep me up to date with detailed messages during her time sitting my kitten and even sent me pictures showing him being comfortable and playful around her. She also went above and beyond and did extra things around the house which I appreciated very much. She’s very respectful and professional. I will definitely request her again for my next pet sitting. Thanks Sadie!”

“Evan is a ROCKSTAR! ⭐️ 100/10 stars! Dobby usually barks when meeting new people, but he took to Evan immediately—which says a lot! Evan was incredibly friendly, thoughtful, and attentive, and he did an amazing job taking care of Dobby and communicating with us throughout the entire stay. We felt completely comfortable knowing Dobby was in such great hands. We will ABSOLUTELY ask for Evan as our first choice every time in the future. Couldn’t recommend him more!”

“10/10 would recommend! High level of communication, honest and trust worthy. I will be hiring Jedan again for any of my overnights and drop ins schedule permitting :).”

“We had a great experience with Emina and Jackson. They did so good with all our dogs with their varying personalities. Also they were very accommodating when we requested an extra day. Overall great experience and would use them again.”

“Lorrie was great with our boys for a week and I’m so happy we found her. She took the time to do a trial drop-in visit with them beforehand since they’re reactive boys and we were nervous, but everything was smooth sailing. Lorrie has an unafraid alpha-dog presence that our boys could sense and they knew they couldn’t cross her. She’s a gem! Thank you Lorrie!”

About: I am available all day every week and weekend. I am a very big dog lover and am kind hearted. I enjoy being outside and love being with furry friends. I am recently unemployed. I have had a lot of experience with dogs and grew up with multiple puppies. I lost a large amount of weight in Highschool from walking with my family dog twice everyday, throughout the summer and fall seasons. I believe greatly that animals need to be exercised everyday in order to live a full and happy life. With a willing to travel far distances and the ability to work with all breeds I hope to be a good choice for anyone who needs a dog sitter or dog walker. Thank you.
“Hanna gave our kitten the attention she needed, as well as the piece of mind we needed leaving the young kitten home the first time. Our kitten is accustomed to lots of social and play time, Hanna did a great job!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats ever since I was a kid. I can help care for any kind of dog or cat you have! I have a flexible work schedule so I’m available at anytime to let your pups out or take them on that much needed daily walk I am more than willing to do stay overs to keep your furry loved one company while you are away or check in multiple times a day if need be
“Olivia was a great sitter for Gordon. She was willing to meet beforehand to go over things. And asked questions as needed. Going by the pictures and updates she provided, Gordon took to her and he was content while she was here. I will definitely use her pet/house sitting services again.”

About: I LOVE dogs and cats! Growing up, my family always had big dogs and fluffy cats around the house; so throughout my life I have gained experience caring for puppies all the way up to seniors. I adore dogs of all sizes, but big dogs will always have a special place in my heart. We owned a Rottie/Lab mix, a Great Dane, an English Mastiff, Boxer, and various Doodle breeds. We also had 3 Ragdoll cats. I currently have 3 Domestic Short and Long haired cats of my own with my fiancé and I love them dearly; but I really miss having a dog around the house. Helping people care for pets on Wag seemed like the perfect way to help me hang with pups! I frequently assist my friends and family with pet sitting, dog walking, and caring for their animals while they are away. Outside of animals, I work for The Department of State as a Legal Assistant and sit for 8 hours a day at a desk. Taking a dog on a nice walk or having a play session with pets sounds like a very pleasant way for me spend my time after sitting in an office all day. I also love to read, cook/bake, do yoga, play video games, and play softball on my women’s community team! I’m currently working a full time office job from 7:30am to 4:00pm, so I can be available on weekdays any time after 4:30pm or early in the morning . I can be available anytime on weekends with enough notice to plan. As much as I would love to help people board their pets, I can’t given the size of my apartment. My home is just for me and my cats :)

Tori took amazing care of our kitten and went above and beyond in every way! It was our first time leaving him alone, and she made us feel so comfortable leaving him. Brianna⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Her 1st overnight pet sit with Buddy while We we’re out of town. She’s an amazing sitter and messaged us to let Us know Buddy was well and relaxed, Her communication skills between Us and Her love For Buddy and His well being.. unmatched.. Thanks You Bri for the exceptional continued care of Our Boy

Rachel was great. We communicated clearly and concisely upfront what care our 2 dogs required and she was candid about her availability. Rachel was responsive and respectful - she stayed in our home and upon return, our home was in same condition as when we left and our pups clearly had been well cared for by Rachel. I would hire her again without hesitation.

Jessica has watched our dogs twice now, and they love her! We have extremely attached dogs, and being able to leave them with a reliable sitter they feel comfortable with is such a relief. Our older dog has a bad habit of finding paper to tear up when he’s stressed, but he was the calmest we’ve ever seen him after being away from us for multiple days. Jessica is very communicative and straightforward, we’re beyond grateful to have found someone so reliable and dedicated to the welfare of our pets!

I was initially hesitant on using a dog/house sitter from this ap as first several sitter requests went unanswered & the only one that did respond that could accommodate cancelled the meet & greet 2xs at the last minute. I was going to bag it, but then read multiple positive reviews on Samantha. I reached out to her & was very happy that I did! Samantha sat our home & 4-footed friend for 8 days 10/29-11/6/25. From the outset, Sam was all the things the reviews said she was—Communicative, reliable, caring, responsive, respectful and above all else the dog whisperer we’d been looking for. It was a stretch for us to welcome a complete stranger into our home, however we’ve found that Samantha’s star sitter status is well-deserved & highly recommend her to anyone looking for dog &/or house sitting services. Thanks again, Samantha!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Steelton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Steelton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Steelton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Steelton. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
