“Laura was amazing! Super sweet. Great communicator. Stayed in touch with us every step of the way. Sent pics and left our house just as we left it. Will definitely be rebooking her!”

“Jill is an amazing dog sitter. She kept my family and I updated the whole time we were away from the house. She strides to ensure my pet Dakota was comfortable and well taken care of and can’t wait to have her over again in a few days. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for Dakota. I highly recommend.”

“Henri watched our three dogs for a week and did a great job. He was reliable, took good care of them, and we felt comfortable knowing they were in good hands while we were away. We would definitely use Henri again!”

About: Hello! I'm Tammie and animals have always been a central part of my life, and I couldn't imagine my world without them. I have years of personal experience caring for both dogs and cats—from managing high-energy playtimes to providing a quiet, comforting space for senior pets. I am observant, patient, and deeply passionate about ensuring that both your dogs and cats feel secure and happy in my care. I also have experience working with llamas, alpacas, goats, sheep, and chickens. I’m looking forward to meeting my new furry friends and my journey working for Rover. Im currently working part time and I have plenty of time to play with your pups and cats. I'm available early mornings and late night visits with open availability on weekends. I have a pet friendly apartment and sidewalks to walk dogs. I’m very reliable and extra cautious of my surroundings and other animals near by.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 10 years old. Both being surrounded by 4 dogs and 2 cats my entire life I know how to cater to each pets personality and make them feel safe! I’ve had experience with senior dogs as well as young pups and know the patience needed for each pet!! I am currently in between graduating and looking for another job for my career. I am currently available all days of the week and am willing to do early mornings and late nights! I will make sure to study my environment and ensure that I can understand your pets to the fullest! I am a guest in their home and will treat it as such as well as make them feel comfortable with me in it✨
About: I have taken care of family animals my entire life & foster failed with my rescue 7 years ago. I am comfortable with dogs and cats of all shapes and sizes! I am happy to do a meet and greet to make sure we are a good match :) I work fully remote so I am available all day to either host day care or sit in your home! I can provide frequent walks, potty breaks, and 1:1 supervision. In / from your home I will provide long walks in nearby parks / the sidewalk, play catch, and explore. If you have a fenced in yard or common area and prefer your doggo play there, that’s great as well
About: I grew up with family dogs throughout my childhood and couldn’t get enough animal love so I pursued a career in veterinary medicine. I’ve been pet sitting on and off since I was in high school and now my career affords me enough free time to share with other fur babies. My fiancé and I currently have a zoo of 3 dogs and 3 cats (border collie mixes named Oliver and Bandit, an australian shepherd mix named Bailey, and the cats are Smudge, Jinx, and Milton). I’ve had experience with seniors, puppies/kittens, and the in between. I’m comfortable with administering oral, subcutaneous, and transdermal medications I’m finally in a position that provides me with a great work/life balance with a 3 day work week and a commute under 40 minutes. I work 12+ hour shifts at an ER/Specialty veterinary hospital Sun-Tues and I bring my dogs to work on those days if my boyfriend won’t be home. I’m almost always available for any pet sitting needs Wednesday through Saturday. We just moved to the area on a quiet street and have a partially fenced yard. I can take dogs for low intensity hikes, walks around the neighborhood, or let them run around out back for exercise. If you have any special requests for overnight care I will do my absolute best to accommodate.
“My husband and I recently had a 5 day trip planned and were struggling to find care for our 6 year old dog and our young puppy ! I was super anxious about leaving them for the first time but after meeting with Jessica and Guillermo I immediately felt at ease. Jessica was super communicative and sent lots of pictures throughout the day of our pups! I never had to guess what they were doing and both the pups had a blast! Jessica was also very respectful of our home, we came home to everything clean and put together just how it was before we left. Our puppy is a huge chewer and she ended up chewing a little bit of our carpet, Jessica immediately informed and showed me, and it was wonderful to have someone so transparent and honest about anything they happened while we were gone. We will absolutely be using them again for our next trip! (As long as they’ll have us) haha.”

“David makes our dogs feel safe and loved. They run to him as soon as they see him. He followed all our specific instructions and was very conscientious. He snuggled with them and played with them. We really appreciated how positive he was about staying with Belle and Rory. We would definitely use David again!”

“Christine was great watching our dog, Ozzy! Ozzy can have stranger danger and Christine did a great job managing this. He was so well taken care of and so was our apartment. I highly recommend Christine.”

“Katie was the absolute best. She went above and beyond for her stay with my high energy pup, taking him on three 2+ mile walks over the course of her stay. She was extremely thorough and detail-oriented, executing each request and keeping our dog on schedule as much as possible. Sending a bunch of pictures and detailed recaps for each visit/walk. We would absolutely love to have Katie watch our dog again!”

“Madelyn took care of my 14-year old Siberian Husky, Kodiak, who has arthritis. She house-sat him while we were away on vacation for 12 days. She was wonderful with him, taking him on frequent short walks during the day. When we got home, we found a very neat house and a very happy (and tired!) dog. I would absolutely hire her again.”

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sparta walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sparta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sparta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sparta. On Rover:
- 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
