Mike had taken great care of our pets, his relaxing nature allowed our dogs (we have a reactive one) to trust Mike and made them feel safe with him.

About: What sets me apart is my patience, consistency, and genuine love for animals —I focus on making them feel secure, understood, and cared for just like they’re my own. I'm new to Rover as I'm sure my profile shows lol However, Im able to show reviews & plenty of pet love I've given thus far 🥰 This job is equally as enjoyable for mee as the beautiful fur babies ❤️ (maybe more) Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine. I plan my schedule around my bookings to make sure each pet gets consistent attention, care, and reliability. Whether it’s walks, drop-ins, or boarding, I build my day with their needs in mind so I can provide dependable, stress-free care I care for pets by keeping their routine as consistent as possible, whether in my home or the client’s home. I make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable by following their normal feeding schedules, exercise needs, and any special instructions, while also giving them plenty of attention and affection.

April was exceptional and went above and beyond. She kept me informed about what she and our pup were up to and sent lots of photos of their long walks and snuggles. After each walk, she checked him thoroughly for ticks and she even watered my plants while we were away. I felt confident my pup and home were in excellent hands! Highly recommend her!

Sara was absolutely amazing! So communicative and considerate. She provided great care to my senior dog who needed supportive braces wrapped around her back legs each morning and kept to Shadow’s medication schedule. My scaredy- 🐈‍⬛ also came out to hang with Sara which is always a good sign! Sara was very flexible and accommodating and took care of my house as well as my furry loved ones while I was away. I most definitely recommend her for future sits!

About: I fostered kittens and cats until I was 6 years old, and I grew up around big dogs like mastiffs and pitties! I’ve grew up with cats my whole life and currently have one; I have owned a dog, leopard gecko, guinea pig, fish, and small insects. I have also pet sat a lovebird and bunny before! I currently only work during weekends and have a completely flexible weekday schedule as of now, I often go on daily long hikes/walks and am free throughout any part of the day and have plenty of time to hang out with and care for your pets! I have a large back yard in which your dogs are free in run in, though not fenced in, and a spacious house with one cat that has her own space if needed to be separated. I also go on hikes every week and try to go on them every day, so I’d love to take your pet on long walks or just chill at home with them!

Lila was a great sitter for Minnie. My very anxious “baby” took to Lila very quickly and that is not her norm, so I felt very comfortable leaving them together. Lila communicated and kept in touch well. She was very respectful of my home and even left a cute doggie thank you note. Minnie seemed to love her and I know this because often when I get home Minnie us sitting by the door waiting. She was sleeping in the living room and much calmer than my usual returns. I recommend Lila as responsive, responsible, and respectful. Thank you!!!

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats for most of my life. Animals have always been a part of my family. I have been fostering a cat for a friend for a few months, and have taken care of a friends 3 massive dogs. Taken them on walks, fed them, and played with them. I am currently in school full-time online only and my children are in school from 7:30-4:30pm Monday through Friday. I am available to care for pets and go on walks. I have a yard and a decent sized apartment, one room that is not used at all. I also have a reliable vehicle for transportation.

About: I have had pets in my life since I was a baby. We have enjoyed a lab, standard poodle and currently a mini cocker spaniel poodle mix. I love getting outside and being active with pets. I am at home with my daughter most of the time and I enjoy doing side hustles like selling vintage clothing online and seeking out antiques. We get outside with our dog, Carl often and would love to get a chance to offer outside time and love to other pets on Rover too! I always approach pets slowly with care and love. They feel our energy big time and have so much to share with us when we give them the chance.

About: I love caring for dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities! I’ll make sure your pup gets plenty of exercise, attention, playtime, fresh food and water, and lots of love. I’m also comfortable caring for dogs with special routines or medications. Your dog’s safety and happiness are my top priorities, and I’ll keep you updated with pictures and messages while you’re away! 🐶❤️ I recently moved to Connecticut with my boyfriend to start a new chapter in our lives. While we look for a new home, I have no work. I’m looking for pet-sitting opportunities. Right now I have a very flexible schedule, so I’m available to give your pets plenty of attention, care, and love! 🐾❤️ I’m currently staying somewhere temporarily while my boyfriend and I look for our own home, so I’m not able to have pets stay with me right now. However, I’m more than happy to come to your home and care for your pets there! I have a very flexible schedule and can stay for as long as your pets need, whether that’s a few hours, overnight, or multiple days. 🐾❤️

About: I’ve been the primary caregiver for my own dog, Nelson, and my family cat, Luna, for the past seven years. In addition, I started my own dog walking business over three years ago and have had the opportunity to care for dogs with all kinds of personalities and energy levels. I’m comfortable administering medications with clear instructions, following detailed care routines, and making sure every pet receives the attention they deserve. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pets the same way you do, you’ve come to the right place. Whether it’s an energetic puppy, a senior dog who needs a slower pace, or a cat who simply wants a calm companion while you’re away, I believe every animal deserves to be treated like family. I’m currently working toward a career in veterinary medicine by completing my pre-veterinary coursework. This fall I’ll be returning to school part-time, which gives me a flexible schedule and plenty of availability throughout the week for walks, drop-in visits, and overnight house sitting. My goal isn’t just to watch your pet—it’s to become someone both you and your pet are excited to see again. Nothing means more to me than earning your trust and building lasting relationships with the families I work with. When you return home, I want you to feel completely confident that your pet was cared for with kindness, patience, and genuine love every single day. Although I’m unable to board pets in my own home, I have experience providing overnight house sitting and in-home pet care. I know how important it is for many pets to stay in the comfort of their own environment, and I’m always happy to care for them where they feel safest. Most importantly, I understand that when you leave your pet with someone, you’re placing an incredible amount of trust in them. I don’t take that responsibility lightly. My goal is for you to enjoy your time away knowing your pet is safe, happy, loved, and receiving the same level of care they’re used to at home.

FAQs for House Sitting - Southbridge

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Southbridge on Rover is $49.05 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 1,186 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Southbridge. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Southbridge walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Southbridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Southbridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Southbridge. On Rover:

  • 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
