About: I've been taking care of my household pets since I was about 10 years old. I love animals of all types, and I am especially partial to big dogs. Currently my schedule is very open. I do theatre in the evening, but I can be up and taking care of pets as early as is necessary. I live in an apartment that has plenty of space for all types of pets. The complex includes a dog park and enough space to give pets plenty of exercise.

“Liz is always amazing! My cats take to her so well and they can be pretty judgy. The updates and pictures she leaves always make me smile. I have relied on Liz a few times now and she’s my first call whenever I have to leave town!”

About: I grew up in a farm with all kinds of animals and doggies were my favorite! I started watching my friends’ fur babies and my passion for doggies has grown. I own an adorable mini winnie named Slinky, he barks at first but loves all his new buddies and is playful! I am certified in pet first aid/CPR and recently took the American Red Cross Cat and Dog First Aid Online Course. I’m a stay at home momma and homeschool my younger 2 children so I’m always home to be able to take care of your fur baby. I leave on occasions for grocery runs or appointments. If I have a doctor’s appointment I can leave your fur baby in the crate for about 2-3 hours and inform you ahead of time to make sure we both agree. Please let me know how long your baby can be left alone. I have a big fenced yard and a doggy door but if your fur baby doesn’t know how to use it, I will open and close our back door for them for potty breaks and running around. Our Slinky will play and keep yours great company. Your fur baby can join us for a walk and some playtime at our local park.

“Kat was amazing. She came through for us in a time crunch and was very flexible with our schedule. Blue took to her very quickly. We will absolutely use her again for our future trips. Thank you Kat for everything. We truly appreciate you.”

About: We love dogs. To us, home is where the dog is. If you’re reading this, we bet you feel the same way. We have loved, lived with, and raised everything from a 4 lb Chihuahua to a 60 lb Standard Poodle. Now we live with a 24 lb mini Doodle named Poppy. We give Poppy love, training, play, and routine. And treats! She is family, and your fur kid will be treated the same way, like a member of our family. We generally board one or two dogs at one time. Three is rare but can happen if they are from one family or dogs we know are compatible. We love keeping dogs for daycare, and carefully consider each situation with pet safety as the priority. Aggressive dogs are not a good fit for us. We are retired. Your dog will not be left alone. John or I will be at home with your dog. This works well with dogs with separation anxiety, but almost all dogs want a human companion close by. They are in a new place looking for reassurance. Your dog’s health and safety, and your peace of mind, are our top priority. Please let us know if you have any special requests, such as medication administration, or special pick up times. We have a flexible schedule to meet most needs and send daily photos and updates. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US: A knowledgeable and sensitive assessment of your dog’s needs followed by fast and appropriate responses. Before retirement, Water was an RN for 39 years, and her assessment skills and level of awareness are both excellent. John can tell you how impressed he was when she saved their Chihuahua with a modified Heimlich. He said he didn’t notice the Chi was choking until after Water removed the obstruction! We will notice and care for your dog’s needs. That’s how we care for Poppy and that’s how we will care for your fur baby.. WHAT WE WOULD LIKE FROM YOU: Please provide food and treats (if you want us to give treats) for your dog to prevent stomach issues and allergies. Also, please include any medications. We do charge extra for medication administration. Please provide documentation of up to date vaccinations. ENVIRONMENT: We have an enormous fenced yard, and our guests are allowed to use the doggie door with outdoor supervision. They can nap on the shady patio, sniff along the fence line, or play with toys. Fetch and tug have been big hits, but there are visitors who seem to prefer exploring. The yard is safe and secure. John recently fenced off the ornamental cactus area of the yard to prevent possible injury. We provide structured outdoor playtime for an hour everyday, and furred guests are welcome in the pool with your permission, weather permitting, and canine desire. When we aren’t supervising the pool, the pool gate is locked. Fresh water is always available, both outside on the patio and in the house in the kitchen. Our home is air conditioned. Visitors are allowed on the furniture, unless you direct otherwise. We consider it a gift when a furry friend joins us for a cuddle on the couch. We have discovered that a rock yard can be too rough on paws for long playtimes. We have pushed our patio furniture to one side to free up covered play space on the patio. Chasing balls across the smooth cement is easy on the paws!

About: I’ve taken care of 16 dogs at one time. My aunt has a zoo and I was the only person she trusted to look after them. I not only take care of your pets needs, but I take care of your home too. I go above and beyond and know the dog training basics. My aunt is a certified dog trainer and I would tag along during some of her dog training sessions. I’ve taken care of an iguana, cats, parrots, a cockatiel, and a Julian pig. I work full time from home. So I can easily come to you and work, ensuring your pets are safe in their home and environment. If I am staying with your pets then I follow your rules. I am in their environment so what they are comfortable with will not change.

About: I have experience with dogs, cats, farm animals, birds, turtles, hamsters- and more! I have taken obedience and safety classes with two of my dogs. I have experience with babies and seniors. I am an empty nester and I do not currently have an outside job so I am flexible and have great availability. I love my own pets and want to add more hours of playing with, walking, and caring for animals. I am able to give as much time as your pet needs. I give daily walks, cuddles, as many monitored feedings and fresh water as they need, and generous play times. I also can clean up after animals.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and began caring for others pets to supplement my education and journalism career. Caring for dogs helps me feel grounded! I’m currently working remote and freelance writing from Tucson so I can be flexible with your pet care needs. I can travel throughout Pima County. I make sure to ask a lot of questions, know your dogs needs and routine before any commitment. I want to ensure it’s a good fit for everyone.

Water & John G.
Star Sitter

“Water’s great. She has owned and adored dogs for many years. She’s had small dogs, like Chihuahuas and a Miniature Poodle, as well as larger dogs such as a Standard Poodle and the Labradoodle she has now. Her home is dog-friendly, with clean, organized areas both indoors and out. She has a doggy door; a huge fenced backyard; and a pool your dog can swim in with your written permission. Dogs love to jump into the pool to chase a ball or just take a dip to cool off (without specific approval, the fence around the pool stays locked). Walking, snuggling and playing with dogs are Water’s favorite things to do—plus a little spoiling, if that’s called for!”

Brianna G.

She gives each pet lots of attention and affection, making sure they stay safe and healthy. Furthermore, Jen is always prompt and dependable. She trustworthy and will always do her best to assure a “job well done.””

Lillian B.
“Lillian is an outstanding pet sitter! When we traveled to Japan this summer, she stayed in our home for two weeks, looking after our cat and Russian tortoise (and our plants) while our dog stayed with some dog buddies at a neighbors' house. The pets were well cared for and loved, and the houseplants thrived! We've also used Lillian to watch all three pets for weekend getaways and would recommend her to anyone. She's reliable, communicative and loving.”
