“Anthea is remarkable! As a dog trainer, I am so very picky and needy. I had never left my rescue pup overnight, and had to go away for 4 days. Anthea worked with my craziness, alleviated my neediness, and honestly just gave me the peace of mind I needed to truly enjoy my vacation! I didn't make it easy. I had multiple animals, multiple people coming to the house while I was away, and a list of needs for me to feel safe and comfortable. She handled it all like a boss and when I got home my house was so calm and clean!”

“Shannon was awesome! She took great care of our new puppy and our cat, kept the house in great shape, and communicated clearly throughout the weekend. We felt completely at ease knowing everything was in such good hands. Highly recommend her.”

“Kathryn was the most amazing dog sitter we could have asked for! She was attentive, had great communication, and gave our pup a lot of exercise. So so appreciative of her!”

“Pat house-sat with my three pugs recently and she did a fantastic job. They were all happy and well cared for when I came back. One of my dogs is elderly with incontinence and mobility issues. He is a very high maintenance doggy but I feel really good about her attention to detail in administering medications, reapplying bandages and addressing the incontinence concerns. She did a great job and I highly recommend her.”
“Peter is Fantastic! He was thorough in asking about my pets needs, as well as following requests and a schedule to ensure they got the right amount of exercise and care. He stayed at the house so it was comforting he was there with them the duration of the time he was caring for them. He sent detailed summaries of the day with pictures each evening. I would absolutely work with Peter again!”

“We highly recommend Cora to watch your fuzzballs. She showed up on time, was communicative, sent updates, and the puppy was very happy when we got home. Thanks Cora!”

“Meg is our #1 dog sitter! She keeps up updated with videos and pics, takes photos ur dog on long walks, and gives so much love to our dog! Our dog probably is more excited when we’re gone because Meg arrives! She’s the best!”

About: With over 15 years of hands-on dog care experience, We’ve fostered more than 20 dogs since 2020 and spent 3 years volunteering at a dog rescue, focusing on training, exercise, and support for both reactive and rescue dogs. I also have two cattle dogs and specialize in positive, consistent puppy training. I (Zach) work from home with a very flexible schedule, which allows me to provide attentive, consistent care throughout the day. I'm happy to adapt to your pet's routine—whether that means feeding, walks, playtime, or quiet companionship—ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for in your absence. I (Janexis) I'm a Teacher and I'm available after 4pm and weekends. When caring for pets in a client’s home, we follow a structured, consistent routine tailored to each pet’s needs. We use positive reinforcement to build trust and encourage good behavior, always prioritizing your pet’s comfort and well-being. We're experienced with crate-trained dogs, but we’re also more than happy to share the couch or bed with your furry companion—just like home. Our goal is to maintain your pet’s routine while providing a loving, stress-free environment in your absence.
“Megan was very responsive and clearly enjoys doing this work. We had her in for a half day of pet sitting and she took good care of our dog, was great about letting me know specifics on how he was doing, and was flexible with a last minute schedule change. Would definitely hire her again.”

“Shelley was nice, friendly and great with my animals. I felt calm while I was away from my fur babies and confident that everything was going to be just fine. I will be booking again.”

“Danielle is a delight! We feel so lucky to have found her! Our two retired racing greyhounds, Luna & Cosmo, adore her as much as we do. We were hesitant to leave for a mini-vacation without having used Rover before. Danielle put us at complete ease immediately. We didn't have single worry while we were away. She feels like an extension to the family. We feel absolutely comfortable having her stay in our home with our two pups repeatedly! Thank you Rover for getting us in contact with Danielle; and thank you Danielle for being a perfect friend to Luna & Cosmo!”

“Amy always does a wonderful job with Tucker and my house. She’s super responsive and attentive to his needs and always goes above and beyond. She pays attention to detail and is such a joy!”

“Olivine was absolutely wonderful! Our Copper was grieving the loss of her little sister and she really went out of her way to give her extra attention and cuddles. We couldn’t be more grateful.”
“Amy is the kind of sitter you hope to find: she's communicative, caring, flexible, and reliable. She stayed at our house, caring for our three pets for several days. We got great updates, and returned to a spotless house. We highly recommend Amy!”

About: It's been a couple years since I've been an active sitter on Rover as I've had my hands full with babies instead of leashes, but ever since I can remember, I have had a genuine love for animals and ensuring their well-being. I find so much joy and fulfillment in building relationships with the pets I care for and have a very intuitive connection with them. I am a cat mom, but a lover of all animals and have had plenty of experience with pets of all different sizes, energy levels and personalities. I have cared for puppies and kittens as well as senior animals. I am responsible, reliable and ready to meet your pet! I have committed to pet sitting full time. My schedule is very flexible and I can accommodate early mornings, late nights and last minute bookings. Safety is always my top priority. Having my own pets, I know how important it is to be able to trust who you choose to take care of your pet. I will always treat your pets as if they were my own and follow any instructions that are given.
“I just moved back to Portland and was looking for a house sitter for my sweet little old lady, Pearl, and had a few upcoming trips planned. Danny was very communicative, always prompt and was more than willing to help with an unexpected medical need. Pearl was well taken care of and I'll happily work with Danny again.”

“Jenny is absolutely wonderful. She is one of the most reliable, responsive, loving, and caring sitters you’ll find. Our pup has separation anxiety and needs a sitter who will essentially move in with her and spend lots of time together and Jenny was perfect. She gave so much love to our pup and treated her as her own. She was also so respectful of our home, had amazing communication, kept our plants alive :), and so many other little touches along the way. Thank you, Jenny!”

“Crystal was amazing! Took the best care of my dog and cat while I was away, sent a bunch of photos and updates throughout the day of their adventures, and kept the house in lovely condition. I could tell she vacuumed before heading out which I SO appreciated when I got home from my trip! I’ll definitely be booking with her again if she’s available. Thank you Crystal, Pretzel and Beans miss you!”

South Cliff pet parents share their Rover experiences
Rosalyn did a couple overnight stays and daily sitting of our pets. She took great care of them, and the pets all liked her (even our scaredy boy cat felt comfortable enough to come out with her at the house). She was easy to communicate with and sent pics of each pet daily for us. We hope to utilize Rosalyn for pet sitting again!

Sitka took great care of our two dogs for five days over the Christmas holiday. She was kind, attentive, and clearly made sure they were comfortable and well cared for while we were away. We really appreciated her availability during such a busy time of year, and it was reassuring to know our dogs were in good hands. We came home to two happy pups and felt confident they were well looked after.

I cannot express how grateful I am for the care Joanna showed my girls while I was away. We were in the middle of the stress & chaos of a move, and Joanna came over to the new place to watch the girls when it was only their 2nd day in a completely new environment. While I was gone, Joanna messaged thorough updates, asked questions, and was genuinely invested in how she could best care for them. When I came back, I could tell she had done an amazing job connecting with and caring for them because they were far more relaxed and adjusted than they were when I left, and for my cats, that is truly saying something. My house was also in perfect shape. 10 out of 10, absolutely no notes!! Will definitely be reaching out next time I’m in need of care of my babies. It’s rare to find someone who puts their heart into the things they do, and that’s exactly the kind of person Joanna is.

Seth was absolutely excellent with our senior boy, Kidd. He was consistent with updates and pictures, he followed our care routine just as we would and completely put my partners and my mind at ease while we were on anniversary trip! We came back to our place just as we left it and a very happy doggo! I will 100% be contacting Seth again if we ever need future care for Kidd… I definitely recommend you reach out to him as well!
