“I was happy to leave my 8-month-old puppy under Maci's care while I worked from home. It was a genuinely worry-free experience. Maci's gentle and attentive approach put me and my puppy at ease. She took the time to familiarize herself with my dog's needs and preferences beforehand, ensuring a seamless transition. With Maci, I knew my puppy was in gentle hands. When she left, my puppy was relaxed and happy, a testament to Maci's exceptional care. Thank you, Maci, for your kindness, reliability, and dedication to providing top-notch dog-sitting services!”

“Ashlee was a great sitter for us! Our dog is unfortunately not very quick to warm up to people, but she was super patient and gave it her all to form a bond with him, even spending extra time with him beyond what I had booked!”

“Hannah was absolutely outstanding from beginning to end! She was incredibly communicative throughout the entire stay, giving us regular updates and making us feel completely at ease while we were away. It was clear that she genuinely cared about each of our pets and took exceptional care of them. When we came home, all of our pets were happy, relaxed, and clearly adored Hannah. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing they were in such capable and caring hands. We couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter and would recommend Hannah without hesitation to anyone looking for someone reliable, attentive, and truly wonderful with animals. We will absolutely be booking with her again!”

I’ll treat your home with respect and keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel confident while you’re away.
“Thomye took great care of our IzBiz while we were away. Being a senior pup, it's hard to uproot them just for a night away. Thomye was absolutely perfect with her. She took time to play and even hand fed her to ensure she ate her food. Thomye took all the extra time and care and we are forever grateful that we found her. She will definitely be our go-to when we need someone for our old lady.”

“Lucy is an absolute gem! She is wonderful with our two shy cats, and is great at communicating. We are having to move to another state, and if it were possible to take her with us, we would in a heartbeat.”

“We had a meet & greet at my home before the needed drop in. I felt reassured that I had chosen a reliable, kind to pets gal. Emilia communicated back quickly, sent photo's & message. I plan on having her return when a future need for sitter or drop in comes.”

“Bradley took great care of my Griffen. Although, Griffen was happy to see me, he would have been happy to see Bradley. It was nice to go away for a few days and not have to worry about Griffen.”

About: I've grown up with large dogs my whole life-7 in total- from puppies to adulthood! I'm often called over by friends and family to take care of their dogs and cats since high school. I didn't grow up with cats but I we recently rescued two and I love them to death. We've trained each of our dogs since they were puppies. I've personally cared for many elderly dogs (my own, as well as petsitting) and have also owned a dog with a neurologic disability who would often fall ill and get fevers, and now I'm well acquainted with spotting the signs. I worked in pet boarding for nearly 2 years and I did everything from bathing, being a daycare technician, and diligently scrubbing kennels. I worked with all kinds of dogs and cats, young and old, friendly and not ao friendly. I also have experience with taking care of Rabbits, Bearded Dragons, and Ball Pythons. I have a very flexible work schedule and I can let dogs out throughout the day at any time. I prefer to house sit if the house is further away to make feeding and letting out easier. I only use a 2 finger "touch" when correcting a dog, and I'm well trained to prevent dog fights (or "arguments") and how to break them up. I worked 1.5 years full-time in dog daycare/boarding, so I'm well acquainted with dog body language and appropriate dog training.

“Tanya was very personable, paid close attention to my cats' behavior, and did extra things, such as feed the Orioles and water some plants. Very happy! Will hire again. Debb”

About: I already know how to give certain medications, train certain tricks, and take care of old dogs that might need an extra boost. Im also very willing to learn something I may not already know how to do! I also don't just take care of your pets but your home too, if you need plants watered, trash taken out, mail picked up... just let me know! I Currently work some weeks from 3pm-9pm Monday-friday but my schedule is not always this way. If your pet needs extra care during this time that is something we could work out aswell! I try my best to step into your shoes while you are away to keep your pets routine very similar to what they are used to, but I also try to do extra fun things with them so its like a mini vacation for them while you are on your vacation! I keep a happy environment for you and your pets.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
