About: Since welcoming my first dog at the age of ten, caring for fur babies has been a constant alongside raising my own children. Over the years, I’ve shared my life with dogs of all sizes and personalities. Currently, I have two dogs—a Boston Terrier and a Pit Bull mix. In the 80s and 90s, I also cared for a Rottweiler and a Boxer/Rottweiler mix, giving me lifelong experience with both small and large breeds. As a retired teacher who works from home, I have a very flexible schedule and am able to provide attentive care for your pets while you’re at work or away on vacation. I do have a military ID so if you need me at Scott AFB, no problem! While I do not have a fenced yard and am unable to board pets in my home, I am happy to offer dog walks, drop-in visits at your home, medication administration, and plenty of kisses, hugs, cuddles, and playtime.
About: I have grown up with a lot of dogs, a rabbit, and 2 cats. Some whom had difficulty listening to directions or potty training. I like to get to know the pets daily routine and help them build new habits. I usually am available from 12pm to 1:30 pm on weekdays. I am usually not available on weekends or 2pm-9pm due to my work schedule. Wednesdays are usually my best days and i can pop in after work to walk or feed. I am very respectful and responsible when taking care of pets in others homes. I tend to like cleaning up after pets or my own mess. If the pet is nervous i will slowly let them warm up to me. on the rare occasion allowing pets to stay in my home I will treat them as well as my own pets taking to account their needs.
About: I’ve owned dogs my whole life, as well as watched many of those of friends and family in the past. I adore all types of animals, and dogs are always a joy to be able to interact with and be around. Availability throughout summer. From walking to pet sitting, I will be able to do any task at hand. A very personal caretaker for any pet needs. I always be sure the animals are comfortable and safe. Pets all have their own schedules and quirks I am open to accommodating to respecting.
About: I’ve cared for dogs my whole life. You can rest assured your pups, big and small, will get all the love and attention while you’re away. I currently work full-time, Monday through Friday, but have three pups of my own at home and can board additional pups overnight during the week and can do daytime walks on weekends. I have a fenced in yard and keep your pets separated from my household pets unless they are long-time visitors and we know everyone gets along well.
About: When I’m not training my dogs, working, or doing school work, I’m reading a book about dogs. Canine cognition fascinates me. I know a lot about dog breeds and their purposes, as I find that breed/breed mix plays a massive role in what a dog finds fulfilling. My rat terriers play very differently than my friend’s poodle, who plays differently than my aunt’s Australian shepherd. Each one is intelligent and lively in their own way. I have two dogs of my own who I have raised since they were 8 weeks old. I’ve house sat a wide variety of dog breeds, including a standard poodle, Australian shepherd, Irish wolfhound, and plenty of perfectly unique mixes! I am completely free on Saturdays, Sundays, and Wednesdays. I typically work either 11am-5pm or 4pm-9pm every other day, but I rarely work more than 6 hours at a time, so I won’t be away from your fur baby for too long. I am a full-time online college student, so I can do my school work from anywhere. Your pet’s safety is of the upmost importance to me. I am able to take your dog to the emergency vet if need be. During drop-ins and walks, I am careful to lock the doors and leave your house the same way I found it. I am happy to send you plenty of updates so you don’t feel like you’re missing anything.
About: Hi! My name is Katie and I am 32 years old.. I have dog sat many times over the years for family and family friends. I have been obsessed with animals since before I can remember. Dogs are the key to happiness in my opinion!! I will never turn down an opportunity to pet a dog or cat if able. I will be sure to keep your dog or cat well taken care of with lots of love, potty breaks as needed and outside or inside play if they are energetic! I currently am a stay at home mom for my 1 year old, so I have flexibility and will be able to provide what’s needed for your fur baby to the best of my ability. I would love to get a run down of your typical day or what your animal normally requires and expects. Keeping them in a routine they are comfortable with is important and I am happy to provide that as much as I am able.

About: Hi! I’m Chelsea, a lifelong animal lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all sizes and personalities. I currently have a year and a half old mix named Jake, so I’m very familiar with puppy energy, training, and making sure dogs get the physical and mental enrichment they need. I take pet care seriously and always aim to create a calm, safe, and structured environment where pets feel comfortable. I’m attentive to each dog’s individual needs—whether that means long walks, playtime, enrichment activities, or simply relaxing and keeping them company. My background working in behavioral health has also given me a lot of patience, awareness, and the ability to stay calm in different situations—skills that translate really well to working with animals. When your pet is with me, you can expect: • Lots of attention and supervision • Updates and photos while you’re away • Respect for your pet’s routine and training • A calm and caring environment I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I’ll treat your dog like family while you’re gone. My work schedule is still being finalized, so my availability may vary week to week. However, I keep my Rover calendar updated and will always communicate clearly about availability before confirming bookings. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining the pet’s normal routine so they feel comfortable and secure in their familiar environment. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any specific preferences your pet has. I also make sure pets receive plenty of attention, enrichment, and supervision while you’re away. I respect my clients’ homes and always keep things clean, provide regular updates and photos, and communicate promptly if anything comes up.

“Travis was phenomenal! He was so professional and knowledgeable and had the most laid back demeanor! He was excellent with my dog, she can be nervous at the first meeting and he was amazing with her, she fell in love within minutes! I can't recommend enough, and I am so happy being able to now have someone safe and reliable for my fur baby!”

About: I am an avid pet lover. I’ve been around dogs all my life (minus a short time when I lived in an apartment and couldn’t have a dog, so we decided to adopt 2 cats!). I am a pretty active gal, and am able to take dogs for walks (and even run if they want to). I'm open to drop in visits, housesitting, walks, etc. I am unable to provide boarding at my house, as our Chloe is selective about her friends. We are working with her on being more tolerant of others. If boarding is your preference, I would be open to a Chloe meet-and-greet to make sure your dog and Chloe are comfortable with each other. I work locally around Columbia, so I am able to do some petsitting during the week. I have more availability on the weekends. If my schedule allows, I can drop in on lunch to check on your pets. Your rules are my rules. As long as the dog/cat/etc. is happy, I am happy. My dogs are allowed on furniture and have the run of the house. Of course, they are not chewers and (typically) do not destroy things.

Smithton dog parents share their Rover experiences
Heather and her crew bring a dependable exciting, socializing aspect to her service is top notch! She asked and offered first and, it was a bonus i had not factored in. She gives my dogs tons of attention and pack like walks. Even going further than expected on the beautiful days. I can not say enough great things about her. And, her kids helping is an aspect i did not expect. She has asked if she can include her dog on the walks sometimes. I told her absolutely! The more socializing with anyone, anywhere has been really great! And, above and beyond expectation. I highly recommend her for anyone with puppies, empty nesters like me, and or, dogs that have lost their fur sibling. Exceptional! Worth every penny and then some!

My husky pitbull mix has high energy and anxiety, I also have 3 other dogs. I only pay Desiree to walk three of them bc one is old and wouldn't want to anyways lol. Doesn't phase Desiree... I received pics of all of my dogs happy and relaxed. She walks my three pits at once with no problem including the use of one choke collar for a hyper male pitbull. The old dog is also pet and not ignored even though she is not on her list. To anyone with large dogs, high anxiety dogs, multiple dogs, or anywhere in between I cannot recommend Desiree enough! She is flexible and knowledgeable

This will be 3 weeks with Desiree helping me being able to step up and help me with weekly visits. And, she, and her service is really helping me manage my busy schedule. Now, i will say…the pups and i have learned that we can count on desiree to because it has helped me with being consistent and just a huge asset in our lives. Her love for my dogs and my dogs are loving her. And, helping me teach them routine. Far less accidents, and nothing but good behaviors. Including help with my one pups separation anxietyZ her service has really made it possible is just invaluable. Her flexibility is like no other. With Desiree has really helped me be able to keep my pups. And, all of have less anxiety. She is just such a blessing. We don’t know what we would do without her. I wouldn’t be able to do it. I don’t doubt that she will be an asset to any dogs lives. Especially for anyone that would love to have a dog. With busy schedules in their lives. She has done nothing but prove to me…it is absolutely possible. A true blessing. She has become my pups. One of their favorite human. ❤️
