“Jillian is a perfect dog sitter. She cared for our anxious dog with great respect. She kept us up to date on what was happening and was responsive to our questions. I recommend her to others.”

“Lauren is fantastic and the absolute best! She’s dog/cat/house sat for me multiple times over the last two years. She’s so loving with my pets, super responsive and responsible, takes great care of the house (it’s always cleaner than when I left!), and is just a lovely person! Book with Lauren! You will be so happy you did!”

“Lynnette is one of the best I've seen with animals. My dog Mavis is a retired service dog. She is temperamental and slow to warm to people. Lynnette is the first person I've seen Mavis interact with who could sit with and pet her, in the first 5 minutes. Mavis was so at home with Lynnette and tried to guard Lynnette when I arrived to bring her home. Lynnette played, walked, and relaxed with Mavis. She sent me updates, pictures, and videos of Mavis having a wonderful vacation. She has an enclosed yard that allows dogs to safely explore outside. I highly recommend Lynnette!”

“I have been using Rover for over 4 years and I have met some wonderful sitters, but Michele is seriously the best sitter I have had for Georgia. I appreciate her sincere demeanor and understanding with Georgia for her overall health and wellness. I also appreciated coming home to a clean house. She is one of the most considerate and thoughtful people I have met.”
“Excellent in every way! Great communication, regular photos and updates, on time and organized, and left the house as clean as it was when we left. Solved years worth of anxiety and pet sitting conundrums for us!”

“Zdenka took great care of my babies for a whole week! This was my first time using this service and having a stranger look after my two dogs. At first I was very worried since my dogs had never been away from me with a stranger. Zdenka was AMAZING though! She sent me photos, videos, updates everyday. Upon my arrival my babies were happy and my house was exactly the same way I left her with. I highly recommend her and I am so happy I found someone trustworthy to take care of my babies for any future trips. Will be using her services again!”

“Christopher is a true dog lover and I feel fortunate to have found him to take care of my pack whenever I’m not around. I have a lot of attendant anxiety when trying to pair my dogs with a suitable sitter- for no other reason than that they need a lot of exercise and ask for a lot of attention. Christopher alleviated every ounce of attendant stress experienced by leaving my dogs in someone’s care. He took my dogs on outings, updated me with charming photos and was completely unflappable when it came to managing two high energy and young labs along with a corgi who needs to herd everyone to feel fulfilled. On top of all of this, Christopher took excellent care of my home- maybe even leaving it cleaner than I did for him. 5 stars for Christopher, absolutely!”

“Sarah is absolutely amazing! We have three dogs, one with orthopedic issues, one that is quite exuberant, and one that is nervous around new people. Sarah was patient with our introduction routine, and put our nervous dog at ease almost instantly. She was also great with coming to walk the dogs a few times, to make sure things continued to go smoothly, before staying with them while we were out of town. Our pack can be a handful, which often makes it hard to feel like we can leave them in someone else’s care, but we were never worried about Sarah! While we were gone, Sarah’s frequent updates were so wonderful and reassuring. We could see that the pups were really fond of her company, even Calvin gave her some of his much-coveted attention! She handled all the individualized instructions with ease, and was great about getting everyone out during breaks in the rainy weather. She was also so attentive, noticing that our dog Charlotte’s brace was rubbing, and giving us a heads up. We can’t wait to continue working with Sarah in the future. She’s a lifesaver!”

“Annalisa is a warm, responsible, reliable sitter who provided excellent care for our home and dog. We felt totally comfortable leaving Daisy in her care, and Daisy became so fond of her that she hated to see her go. We would certainly hire Annalisa again, and we highly recommend her to others in West Sonoma.”

“My dog adores Laura. She shows up as planned and takes good care of my apartment and my dog. I’ve already had her watch my dog on three separate occasions and will continue to book her.”

“DeAnna is wonderful! She stayed with our tiny elderly chihuahua over a holiday weekend and took amazing care of her. We came back to a happy hound and a clean, tidy home. She was super communicative throughout our trip and sent pictures and updates while we were gone. I am so delighted to have found DeAnna and will be working with her again for sure!”

“When you first meet certain people, you know they are real and up front with you, such that you will have no worries leaving your pets and home in their care. Brianna is such a person. She was just like a gift coming to the front door to meet us and our pets. Her care and concern is the very best. We received updates and pictures of our cats with text messages about their activities. Three of our cats get meds and one needs a little bit of special attention. Brianna was on top of it all. We recommend her to anyone booking for pet care they can count on.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Seaview
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 438 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Seaview. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Seaview walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Seaview maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Seaview choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
