I hired Crystal to take care of my 3 dogs so I could finally take my daughter on vacation. It was “trust at first sight” and I knew she would be amazing to my 3 weirdo doggies! She took great care of them and I didn’t have a panic attack once thinking my dogs were not getting the attention they needed. They got all the attention and love they needed. When I came back home, my house was clean and my dogs were happy! They missed me, but they were not stressed at all. If you need someone that you can fully trust to take amazing care of your dogs and home, then Crystal is the person for you! I can’t begin to put into words how much I appreciate her. I absolutely adore her and so do my dogs! She is great at communicating. She is just wonderful human being!

Elton had a fantastic time! 🖤 She kept me updated throughout the entire booking and sent pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear Elton was well cared for, comfortable, and getting lots of attention. I really appreciated her communication, kindness, and how attentive she was to his needs. I would absolutely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!

About: I've been sitting big breed dogs and have had them since I was a kid. If I could, I would have a dozen of them, but for now, I will babysit your dog. I work from home, and my partner also has a flexible schedule, so they are usually around too, providing your dog with companionship, attention, and supervision throughout the day. Walks, backyard playtime, enrichment, and plenty of snuggles are part of my daily routine. We value kindness, inclusivity, respect, and emotional safety. Our home is a judgment-free zone for people and pets. I have a fenced yard, nothing to jump off, and a friendly rescue yellow Labrador/pittie mix who loves to play with dog visitors. He is also great at reading dog body language and at giving new visitors their space until they are ready to engage. I’m experienced with dogs who have restrictions - physical, food sensitivities or allergies - or just need extra time settling in. As a former volunteer with Southern California Labrador Rescue, I fostered and pulled dogs from shelters. I understand the unique needs — and big hearts — that often come with rescue dogs. I love both in-home boarding and house sitting. Staying in a client’s home gives me a peaceful change of scenery for my writing and allows dogs to stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I’m available to house sit throughout Southern California. I work from home full-time, Monday-Friday. On weekends, we typically garden, cook, and go for walks or hikes. Snuggles, backyard playtime, and lots of interaction time are a critical part of my day with your dog. I am a homeowner with a fenced yard in a gated neighborhood, a rescue mutt to keep your dog company, and a cat. My teenager is also a dog lover who spoils our Charlie. Dogs are allowed on the furniture and on the bed. I have dog beds, lots of water bowls, and time for pets. Our dog is a big hunk of love at 116 lbs, and I have always had big dogs. He LOVES having dog friends at the house.

We will definitely hire Caitlyn again. She handled 4 senior dogs and 1 energetic five year old dog beautifully. The seniors all require medications, one needs insulin injections, so ya, she handled a lot, reported on how they were, walked them. We couldn’t be more pleased.

Kimberly did a great job. She had to manage two large dogs over three days. The house and the pups were well cared for. I asked Kimberly to abide by some fairly strict rules with the dogs in order to manage their high-energy and potential anxiety and she did an excellent job. Kimberly have our pups multiple daily walks, administered pet medication, and maintained the security of the house. I strongly recommend Kimberly for your pet/house sitting needs.

About: Senior dogs and dogs with special needs have a special place in my heart. I take the time to learn each dog’s routine and quirks, moving at their pace and learning what makes them feel safe and comfortable. 〰️ I’ve shared my life with dogs since I was little, growing up with German Shepherds and learning early that every dog has their own personality, preferences, and way of experiencing the world. Every dog has their own way of communicating, and I love taking the time to learn their language; they are conscious, beautiful souls. I also have bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology, where I was able to study animal behavior and communication. 〰️ I’m based in the San Fernando Valley, and my flexible schedule allows me to serve families throughout the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley. My Rover profile may be new, but my experience with dogs isn't; I'd be grateful for the opportunity to meet your best friend. My goal is to learn what makes your dog feel safe, comfortable, and loved, so you can leave knowing they’re with someone who truly enjoys caring for them. When I'm not with the doggies, I'm in the classroom as a substitute teacher in either the AV or SFV. I get to choose when and where I work, allowing me flexibility in my schedule for dog care. I like to spend as much outside time as possible with the dogs (weather permitting) and do mentally stimulating activities (especially with my senior babies). Activities like "where's the toy", "which hand is the treat in", etc. Little things to keep them mentally engaged. I love being outside, and I love long walks, so me and the doggies tend to make a good team.

June is beyond compare! We were fully confident she would take care of our dogs, and she exceeded our expectations. She pays close attention to detail and has excellent communication. We loved receiving all the videos and pictures of our dogs and her messages that made us feel like she really understood our dogs and they were in the best of care and her top priority. Our dogs were immediately comfortable with her when they met her and did very well with her while we were gone. We will definitely be using June again in the future!

About: I'm currently working from home part time and working in a restaurant part time, so I’m able to give your pup plenty of attention and take them out as often as needed when at home. I sometimes will need to be gone for around 6-7 hours a few days out of the week for my other job so I ask that your pup is okay on their own occasionally. When your dog stays with me, they’ll be treated like a member of the family, with lots of love, care, and playtime. I live in a one-bedroom apartment that’s cozy and safe for dogs. If your dog is crate-trained, I’m more than happy to set up their crate in the living room to ensure they feel comfortable and secure during their stay. I understand that every dog has different needs, and I'm committed to providing the same level of care and attention I would give to my own pets. Whether it’s regular walks, playtime, or just some extra cuddles, I’m here to make sure your pup feels right at home. I am working from home during the day so I have plenty of time to take your pup out whenever needed! Let me know their schedule. We will go out on walks, we can go to the park if you’re okay with it, I will feed them according to their normal schedule, and of course plenty of cuddles.

Lexy took care of my doggo, Midnight, so amazingly! I chose house sitting because Midnight isn’t good at staying in other people’s homes and gets anxious alone. This was the first time we use rover to get someone to take care of Midnight, let alone stay at our house, we decided to try Rover! I read through Lexy’s reviews and she seemed like she would take care of Midnight well! We met up a bit before the booking to talk about Midnight and also the stay! Lexy was so sweet and automatically I knew I felt comfortable with her staying in my home. We were very nervous about leaving him with someone new but Lexy put us at ease. She sent pictures and updates of Midnight everyday which made me so much calmer during my trip! Also Lexy should take a side hustle as a doggy photographer because the pictures she took were SO cute! I’ve saved them all! Overall Lexy is amazing and Midnight had a great time with her! We definitely will have her take care of him again in the future!

FAQs for House Sitting - Sandberg

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 733 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Sandberg. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sandberg walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sandberg maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sandberg choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sandberg. On Rover:

  • 88% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
